Hi! I learned some mandarin back in high school but lost a lot of it over the years. I want to start immersing myself again but I can’t find a lot to keep my attention on Netflix (there are some great shows but they use a lot of specific jargon, like crime procedural stuff) do you have any suggestions on what shows to watch/where to find good shows to watch? I appreciate it very much xx
I have a tough time finding stuff on Netflix too. I would definitely say to use Kissasian (they have a great selection of Chinese and Taiwanese shows). To avoid jargon and difficult language, I would definitely suggest kids shows but sometimes that can get a little tedious :/ a lot of kids chinese cartoons can be found on YouTube.
As for suggestions, it depends on what you like. It also depends on whether your okay learning Taiwanese Mandarin over Chinese. Personally, I am a huge romance fan, and I don’t care for mainland China shows.
My go-to shows that are on Netflix are Two Father’s and Triad Princess.
HIStory 3: Trapped and HIStory 3: Make our days count (both gay and so SO good-find on Kissasian).
Prince of Wolf (Kissasian)
Did you go to school? (Kissasian)
An innocent mistake (Kissasian)
Boysitter (Kissasian - haven’t seen it yet but it’s on my infinitely long watch list😅)
The Fearless (amazing~ definitely a favorite)
So I don’t have any suggestions for children’s shows but I know that for a lot of them on Netflix, you can change the audio to Mandarin😊
