I love my country
I hate it when I'm reading an amazing fic only for it to take an unsavory turn in the last few paragraphs. The story was so great and now it's ruined.
When you're working so much, you're too tired to write when you finally get free time. Ugh.
I hate it when I get burnout over writing fics. It was going so well yesterday...
hot take, I don’t think any fic is “badly written” as long as it’s written with love
As long as it's written by a human being it's good writing.
That moment when you’re reading a fic and your OTP finally hooks up
That gif is literally perfect
#I reblogged this in 2013
this tag dealt me psychic damage thanks
#i’m putting it in the queue to give you psychic damage again later#your post is old enough to be in middle school
@kirihana CURSE YOU
I would like to apologise for every fic I wrote before today. I was inexperienced and had not discovered editing yet.
I spent months worried about posting in a large toxic fandom, only to post my first fic in that community and have no one read it. I know a lot of people get discouraged by no engagement, and I do to, but this experience was honestly pretty liberating. I've seen so many people get dog-piled in this fandom, which made me hesitating to join despite loving the source material and writing fics for it in my spare time.
Finally posting to it and getting no engagement honestly takes a huge load off my shoulders. It makes me feel like I can post freely without having to worry about people bullying me because I ship the 'wrong characters' together or write a character in a way that people don't like.
Now I can write without caring.

"I need to stop starting fandom projects so I stop disappointing people."
it's okay to disappoint people
it's okay to work slowly
it's okay to let yourself rest
it's okay to drop projects
Stop treating yourself like you are the workers at a fast food franchise.
Your writing is a hobby, don't let it turn into a source of guilt, shame and frustration instead of a source of joy.
Trendy fandoms are so interesting. Every once in a while there's a fandom around a tv show, book or game that just comes out out of nowhere and starts trending everywhere, and after a few months, no one talks about it anymore and everyone who was in that fandom then goes on to the next trendy thing. Rinse and repeat.
i do not “delete sentences” when they start “hindering the plot” i COPY PASTE THEM into a SEPARATE DOC made just for keeping all my USELESS LINES that i will also NEVER USE so therefore i should JUST DELETE THEM but i DONT because id FEEL BAD if i did
There was a fandom I joined years back, but stepped away from it because of how toxic it was. Flash forward to now, I reread the source material and got fully involved back into the media, only to find out the fandom's dead.
It's so bittersweet, because on one end, I can write whatever and no one will bother me, and on the other end, no one reads it.
Don't be afraid to post in toxic fandoms or let 'Antis' get you down. If you're too afraid to deal with backlash on your fics, post it on a new account and under a new name, you can always mute comments. Don't let a toxic community keep you from making your art. Express yourself and be free. Write what you want and don't let anyone get you down!
fanfic is extremely hard
