The Spectrum of Kink is vast and I'm absolutely willing to write things I've not played around with before. While I’m not here to shame, I do retain the right to Refuse anything I’ve not specified here already. Such Things will be added to the above list on occurrence.
BUT WHAT ABOUT FANDOMS?:
Y’all there is too much media and I really do not know how to handle listing all of the things I can knowledgeably write on here
I’m willing to take a crack at most things regardless of whether or not I’m in it. I love a good research rabbithole.
That being said I am a sentient Mass Effect encyclopedia if you wanna go down that route
Not too shabby with shit like LOTR or Elder Scrolls either
I have approximate knowledge of many things

This is a sideblog for writing commissions that I wanted to keep somewhat seperate from the g/t blog many people know my writing from. If you would like to see examples of my personal projects and longer content, you can absolutely check that out here :)
write. write. you need to make mistakes to learn from them. you don't become a master carpenter by shutting your eyes and thinking hard about dovetail joints
hey y'all, just wanted to pop in and let you know that i'm still alive and kickin' and whatnot and i'm terribly sorry that i seemed to fall off the earth. i've been dealing with The Morbz pretty heavily for the last while and it's made me go dark in a lot of places.
i can only apologize and promise that i'm fine and it isn't forever. i'm trying very hard to get myself back to a more productive mental place, but unfortunately that's not just a switch i'm able to flip x-x

LOOK I DID IT
18 pages. God it feels like a lot when I try to open it on a mobile browser and I apologize so so sincerely if that is like... a pain for people to read in that format or anything.
As mentioned in the note at top, due to adult discussions that occur within the chapter and similar conversations that will happen in future chapters, I've felt it necessary to change the story's rating from Teen And Up to Mature. Sorry to anyone this inconveniences or upsets!
I would also like to apologize sincerely to the person who sent me an ask what feels like a billion years ago now about a pretty specific topic, but as the end of this chapter reveals: that was coming up soon and I didn't wanna jump into the ask when I had wanted to get it done in the story first. Thank you for your patience and I hope the next chapter, whenever that comes up, is satisfying in at least SOME way <3
Work this week has been killer on me, mostly because it's 8-9.5 hours of standing and moving and I had spent two weeks with my ass in a recliner, so my feet (and my right hip joint, which has always been a fun janky little part of me) have been having to readjust rather suddenly. That said, it hasn't put any of my recovery behind so I'm feeling pretty good. Thank you again to everyone who reached out, checked in, and especially to those to helped myself and Zip through the Ko-Fi's and commissions and stuff while I was off. It kept us able to buy groceries and not have bill collectors calling, which was huge.

The record scratch of fate was a loud and wretched thing.
One moment you could be on top of the world, in charge of your own destiny, with a full grip on who you are and what you were doing at any given moment. One moment you could be an arbiter of your own justice, pushing people and events and questionable devices in the directions you see fit with no one to stop you or tell you otherwise. One moment you were yourself; proud, tall, unstoppable.
And then in the next, it could all come crashing down around you.
Rather, you could be the one crashing down.
That’s what it had felt like to Maya, after all, though she was certain that for all the distance she seemed to fall, her feet had never actually left the ground. The numerous table and counters and seats and devices had very suddenly, very drastically stretched upwards, each becoming gargantuan pillars before her very eyes in a matter of seconds. She’d barely had time to catch her breath, much less shout for help or do anything to save herself, and now…
Well. Now she was stuck in the vast expanse of an otherwise cramped room with nothing for company but the knot in her stomach.
Maya Midnight, against all odds and reason, was impossibly small, and she had no one to blame for the matter but herself.
Not that she would. In her mind, or what she could gather of it in those first few terrifying moments, the only person to blame was April.
Stupid, brilliant, April.
Maya couldn’t stand her, and she was anything but shy about letting that fact be known. Anyone who majored in Physics was insufferably full of themselves and high on their own intellect, but Maya found April to be particularly annoying amongst the sea of big brained loserfish. On as large a campus as Rosewood University seemed to boast, one would think that it would be fairly simple to avoid someone so grating, but Maya had no such luck. Everywhere she went, April was somewhere within earshot, babbling endlessly about her latest fixation or fascination and making everyone within twenty feet feel stupid by comparison. How anyone ever managed to tolerate her company for more than twenty seconds felt like a complete mystery, and while Maya would claim that she was anything but interested, she was equally guilty of being unable to pry her attention from her.
Clearly, she needed to be taken down a peg or two. It wasn’t good for anyone to be right all the time, and Maya was certain that she was due for a lesson in humility. If no one else was going to have the gumption to show April that she couldn’t be right all the time, it would have to be Maya who carried it through.
She was, in fact, more than happy to do so.
This is what had lead her to the science lab after hours, sneaking around in the dim evening light in search of something with April’s name on it. She’d seen her fiddling with gadgets before, little projects easy to carry around campus without causing any trouble, and she felt confident in her ability to identify one even in the dark. All she had to do was find the most nauseatingly perfect looking thing in the room.
Which was apparently a weird little ray gun with April’s name all over it.
(Well, maybe just on the paperwork around it, but still.)
Maya had no idea what the thing actually was or what it was intended to do — there was no deciphering the chickenscratch of her unspoken rival — but she did know that with a couple of missing screws it would fall apart, and that most computery-looking electronical things did not appreciate being dunked in water. It would only take a few short minutes, and as long as she didn’t draw any attention to herself, her mission would be a success.
Only, she hadn’t accounted for the damned thing turning on when she picked it up, and she certainly hadn’t anticipated the strong hum or bright lights it sprung to life with. Deep down, she knew she should be brave, that she should keep a firm grip on the thing and keep it pointed away from herself, but in her panic, Maya had only managed to drop it unceremoniously to the lab floor below.
Now here she was, on the ground and face to face with a giant device that she’d held in her own two hands only moments ago.
It was hard to wrap her head around the fact, especially while the drumming of her own rapid heartbeat was filling her ears and drowning out all thought. This wasn’t exactly a situation one ever prepared themselves for, and it was wholly outside of the realm of what a human being was ever supposed to experience. In a matter of seconds she’d gone from being the tallest person in any room to likely being the smallest human to have ever existed, and there was no telling if she’d ever go back.
“Oh. This is rich.” Hummed a massive voice above her, shaking Maya to her very core with its presence. Her tiny head snapped skyward, only to be met with the smug expression of the last person she would have ever wanted to see.
“April!! This isn’t what it looks like!!” She screamed, a deep primal fear grabbing the reigns and forcing out a plea for mercy in the midst of such a massive fuck up. In her usual day to day Maya would have never come close to the sort of thing, but this was anything but usual.
“Really? Because I’m having a lot of trouble figuring out what non-malicious reason Maya Midnight could possibly have for being in this lab and fiddling with my stuff.” The giant laughed, bending down and unceremoniously swiping up the tiny woman from the lab floor. With anyone else, April might have taken more care in the way she handled someone in such a small and delicate state, but for Maya she could manage little more than a firm —but not too tight— full body grab; not enough to harm her, but certainly enough to keep her from wiggling out of it and to her own demise.
Not that it seemed to stop Maya from trying.
“I wasn’t fiddling!!” She yelped, voice cracking and wavering with small grunts and whines as she tried to escape April’s grasp. It was a lie of course, and generally she was better at spouting those off than just plain denial of the truth, but most of Maya’s higher functions were currently devoted to the horrifying situation she found herself in.
She was small, she was helpless, and she’d been caught by the only person in a twenty mile radius she didn’t want to see.
A good lie was not going to save her.
“Mm, right. So the shrink ray just leaped from the counter on its own and fired off at you, who just so happened to be in here, huh?” The grin on April’s face grew wider and wider, each perceived millimeter making Maya’s heart beat race even faster. There was no rebuttal, there wasn’t even an attempt to backtrack and apologize and maybe earn some good graces, The pathetic little figure only continued to expend her energy on the futile goal of freeing herself.
It was… cute, if not a bit sad, April had to admit to herself. She was well aware that Maya had some issue with her, though she’d never been able to pinpoint what it might be. She’d caught every glare, every sneer, every sigh and groan and snide comment ever thrown her way, and while many would have confronted her directly by now, April had absolutely no interest in it. If Maya had wanted to spend her precious time on this earth consumed with irrational dislike for her, so be it; April had far better things to concern herself with.
Now that she had her here though? In the literal palm of her hand and at her mercy?
Well, she really couldn’t help herself.
“I suppose I’ll need to figure out what to do with you.” She sighed with clearly feigned exhaustion, the smile never leaving her lips as she spoke. “I imagine you’ll want to be fixed, but before I determine whether that’s a privilege you’ll get, I’ll need to figure out if it’s even possible.”
The wiggling and fidgeting came to a very sudden halt as all color seemed to drain from Maya’s face. If April hadn’t been holding her so firmly, she might have slipped through her fingers and plummeted to the floor below, and yet that still wouldn’t be quite as terrifying as what she’d just heard.
“…You mean-”
“That it’s still highly highly experimental tech that’s never been tested on a live subject before now?” April laughed, using her free hand to set her purse on the nearest table and unzipping one of it’s inner pockets. “That’s exactly what I mean. Guess that makes you a precious little anomaly, huh?” Her nose wrinkled a bit with her grin as she moved to drop her into the pocket, once again giving little thought to Maya’s comfort or safety in the process.
“No, no no no, please, whatever you’re doing, please don’t-”
“Shhh, you want anyone to see you like this? Big Badass Maya Midnight reduced to a doll?” April tilted her head and waiting for a response, but Maya only blinking owlishly at her from the depths of the purse. While April might have been the Worst Case Scenario for people to see her like this, it didn’t mean she wanted to suffer any additional humiliation if possible.
‘God, why did it have to be April?’ She thought to herself, as if she hadn’t practically danced her way into this situation.
“You’ve got no choice but to trust me.” April concluded, zipping the pocket and leaving Maya alone in the cramped dark of the little pocket. “So I suggest you keep quiet until we can get somewhere a little more private.”
The abyss around her began to move, pressing on her from all sides as April presumably picked the bag back up and left the lab entirely. She wanted to scream, she wanted to cry, she wanted to rip her way through this cheap fabric and escape into the wilderness never to be seen nor heard from again, but she did none of those things. Instead, Maya only curled herself into the smallest, tightest ball she could manage until the nightmare had the decency to change.
She’d already lost hope in it ending any time soon.
———————————
Maya had to wonder if time moved differently for her at this impossible size. It was the sort of question a brainiac like April could probably answer with numbers and diagrams, but Maya refused to give her the satisfaction of flaunting her intelligence. Besides, all April could do was theorize, whereas Maya was living the real thing, and with this experience she could confidently say that she had absolutely no idea.
The time in the purse had seemed both instant and infinite. She’d been trapped in that dark pocket, smelling the remnants of old lotions and perfumes as she jostled around with all the junk within, for what seemed like a lifetime or two, and yet as soon as she was at April’s apartment she wanted nothing more than to dive back into it and hide away forever. It was certainly preferable to looking at the billboard sized smug expression that seemed to be permanently occupying April’s face, or the wildly obnoxious gloating and giggling that came along with it.
Not to mention the handling.
Maya had hoped that the need to touch her at all would be at least half as uncomfortable for April as it was for herself. After all, it was hard for her to imagine a scenario where she enjoyed the feeling of a terrified little wiggly thing in her hands. Maybe if she was something like a mouse she could understand the appeal of wanting to hold something soft and cute and precious, but Maya was a human being —one that very pointedly disliked her.
This was all to say that the fact that April seemed to enjoy holding her was something of a surprise.
From the moment she’d taken her out of the purse she had scarcely taken her hands off of her in one way or another. Sometimes she was simply pinching her around her middle, keeping Maya in the air with the gentle force of two crushing fingertips, other times she encased her almost entirely with both, thumbs traveling up and down the length of her body as she took in every last detail of the tiny woman. There was even a brief moment in between where she’d simply let her rest in her cupped hands, simply enjoying the slight weight of her.
Maya hated it.
Or rather, she told herself that she hated it. She might have been blushing a slight when those large thumbs had caressed her so carefully, and her heart had definitely been racing when she was stuck on her back and looking up at an objectively beautiful woman who seemed to take up the whole of reality, but those were just… that was only… she was scared, obviously. Scared and confused and frazzled and everything else. She hated April like she was getting paid for it. Clearly her emotions didn’t know what to do with themselves. It wasn’t any more complicated than that.
That didn’t explain why, however, she could feel herself begin to fall to pieces when the smug expression finally began to soften itself around the edges.
“Poor little thing, you truly are helpless like this aren’t you?” The giant hummed gently, her eyes practically sparkling as she lazily pinned Maya against her palm with a thumb. There was something in the statement, something in the tone and the way that she held her tiny gaze that knocked a sizeable hole in the emotional wall she’d spent so long building around herself.
On a surface level, Maya wanted to be defiant, she wanted to spit in her face, she wanted to curse her name to hell and demand that she be put back to her proper scale immediately, but she ultimately did no such thing. She was little, and she was helpless like this. She couldn’t even wiggle out of April’s grasp, much less fend for herself or get back to normal. Maya Midnight, tall and proud and strong and capable as she always had been, was now anything but that, and she had no choice but to hope for the mercy and kindness of someone she’d only treated like garbage.
For the life of her, she could not figure out why that felt… exciting.
“Please, just fix me.” She grunted, though the words sounded far less cutting than they did in her head just before speaking them. Her attempts at wiggling away from April had stopped, and although she’d never admit it out loud, she was actually relaxed and even comfortable in the giant hands. If she were with anyone else, if it had been someone whose company she enjoyed and who she trusted with her safety and well being then…
…well. In truth, she might not enjoy it nearly as much. It certainly wouldn’t be as much fun.
“Mm, but you see, in order to fix you, I’d need to see you as being broken first.” April hummed playfully in response, her thumb lightly wiggling against Maya’s middle as she devoured the little creature with her eyes. “If I’m being honest, I don’t think you’ve ever looked better. I certainly prefer it to the tall version of you that does nothing but make any space we both occupy incredibly uncomfortable.”
“April, please…” She replied quietly, her eyes sliding open and sparkling as they took in the sight of her, wondering how on earth she could look so different and yet exactly the same from this perspective. “I know we’ve never seen eye to eye or anything but you can’t just… you wouldn’t leave me like this, right?” By the end of the statement her voice had begun to shake, and a real fear began to grip her in the core.
April could very easily leave her like this; if the roles were somehow reversed, Maya could not deny that she’d consider doing the same.
“I already told you that I’m not even certain if I can.” She replied casually, as if that wasn’t the most terrifying reminder possible, “I built the thing to reduce size, computer chips and the like. I didn’t build it to enlarge anything, though I suppose I could see potential benefits.” Her hold on Maya adjusted a slight as she brought her closer to her own face, her gaze fixing on a few distinct points as she considered the possibilities. “Still, I fail to see why I might want to fix you. You’re much more interesting like this, and far less trouble.’
“Oh, like you wouldn’t want another win to feed that massive ego of yours?” Maya scoffed, though she instantly regretted it when April’s fingers began to close around her once more. “I just… I mean it would definitely make you look good, like a hero even if you think about it.”
“Nice try, but you’re just not selling me on the idea.” April giggled as she shifted Maya into just one hand so that she could use the other to start exploring her once again. The tiny woman shivered at the feeling of those large fingers trailing gently down her own figure, lingering on points like her chest or her hips. The feeling was so marvelous, so unique, so novel in every sense of the word, that it was hard to hold onto any disgust that she might have otherwise had for it.
In fact, if Maya was honest with herself, she might even admit that she wanted more of it, if for no other reason than to sate her own fascination.
“Maybe though…” The larger woman hummed quietly, the vibration of the sound alone rattling Maya’s chest in a way that made her heart skip a few beats. “…maybe if you’re good, and can prove to me that you might actually be learning your lesson here… maybe I could consider helping you.”
The grin that spread across the giant’s face was wicked, and should have done nothing but inspire feelings of terror in her…
…and yet it was just as exciting as when she’d been called helpless.
“I can be good for you…” She found herself saying, as if her deepest desires had snatched the reins and taken control of her voice. “Fix me and you’ll never have another issue outta me, I can be good. I will be good.”
Gods above, if Maya had heard herself say these things just a few short hours ago, she’d have likely found a nice quiet room to go and punch herself in the damned face.
Then again, Maya would have never anticipated herself being changed so drastically in the course of an afternoon. If she really wanted to get out of this situation, she would have to forgive herself and comply with stupid brilliant beautiful April’s demands for her own sake and no one else’s, even if it meant sliding her eyes shut as she soaked in the feeling of those large fingers trailing over her.
“Mm, we’ll see.” April chuckled quietly, taking care to keep her volume low so as to not overwhelm the precious little specimen in her palm. The petting stopped for a moment, and if Maya had been in a more reasonable state of mind, she might have opened her eyes for a moment to see that the giant was undoing the buttons on her shirt, but she made no such move. Instead the small woman simply allowed herself to sink further into the comfort of April’s palm, the warmth of her skin and the faint beat of her pulse acting as immense sources of comfort in this otherwise terrifying time.
It was bliss.
And then it was over, and Maya found herself moving through the air again and being deposited somewhere even softer and warmer than the palm had been. Her eyes blinked rapidly as they readjusted to the terrain, but it was only when she looked directly up to see April beaming back down at her that the pieces of the puzzle truly clicked together.
“Sit tight, I need to gather a few things before we get started.”
Maya wiggled, mostly out of instinct than an actual desire to leave, before observing her surroundings as best she could.
It did not take a genius with stellar eyesight to understand that April had plopped her down into her bra, and that she was using her own chest to pin Maya in place. A few sounds escaped her, somewhere between a yelp and a laugh, but ultimately she did not fight her on this. If she had to be trapped, surrounded almost entirely by the warm soft skin of a beautiful woman’s breasts was about as good a place as one could hope for.
Still, as she got used to the steps of the giant moving them both through the wide expanse of a studio apartment, Maya still worked to free at least one of her arms from its prison, only so that she could explore the skin of the other on her own. The pets were small at first, even for her, but as she grew more comfortable with her sensual soft cage their range widened further and further, to the point of even eliciting a shudder of delight from the giantess.
“Oh, are we getting curious down there?” She asked, voice high and playful as she paused in her own tasks and squished her breasts together.
“I don’t see why I shouldn’t.” Maya replied with feigned confidence, trying to grasp at some semblance of control despite the inarguable fact that she would have none. “You’re the one who put me here, if you’re gonna have a problem-”
“-Who said anything about a problem?” The steps resumed despite Maya’s continued petting; if they were having any continued effect on her, April was doing a decent job of keeping that under wraps. “So long as you behave yourself, there’s really nothing for either of us to worry about.”
Maya’s eyes flicked towards the front of the bra as a few brief considerations danced through her mind, urging her to try and toy with her tormentor, just a slight. It would be fairly easy, so long as April’s hands were full and she was willing to put in the effort, to move herself around the cup and into an arguably more soft and restrained position, one where she could really-
“Now, let’s see what we can learn about you.” If the sound of April’s voice hadn’t broken her out of her own trance, then the feeling of being plucked out of the safe warmth of her chest would have absolutely done the trick. There had been no time to stop the quick yelp that slipped out of her before she was being planted firmly on a desk, surrounded by pillars and monuments of scientific instruments like the strange little subject she truly was.
It might have been terrifying, in fact she was certain that she’d be revisiting the visual somewhere in her nightmares, but in the moment Maya could only be upset that she’d lost such a comfortable seat so quickly, no matter how compromising it might have been. Fortunately April wasn’t going to allow her to dwell on it for long, and before Maya could start to push herself up and properly assess her surroundings, the eraser end of a pencil was being pressed against her middle to keep her in place.
“Don’t move.” The command was simple, light in tone, ignoring the sinister nature and objective challenge that came with such a direction. April might as well have been telling her to stay off the grass or to not touch the wet paint, and yet it was still enough to send chills down the small woman’s spine. “Unless I give you permission or explicit instruction, I need you to stay just as you are.”
Maya wanted to fight, she wanted to resist, she wanted to disobey and make a run for it in the hopes of reaching some other salvation, but she did no such thing. She had promised to be good, and if being good meant keeping still in the face of beautiful, abject horror, then she was happy to comply. The pencil lifted once she was deemed trustworthy, and within seconds, April’s hungry eyes were filled with numbers and riddles as she scribbled down her notes.
Time began to stretch, and while Maya logically knew that only mere minutes were passing, each one began to feel like an hour in themselves. Keeping still had seemed like an easy enough ask, but as she was lightly poked and prodded and measured, as the ruler pressed against her and as a pencil slid down the length of her side, it was getting harder and hard to obey. Each sensation sent confusing waves of both fear and pleasure running through her bones, and holding all the shudders and twitches and knee-jerk reactions inside in an effort to keep still was becoming its own form of torture.
Naturally, April noticed this little battle happening in front of her and even delighted in it as she took her notes, even going so far as to measure Maya twice and take unnecessary additional measurements of just her arms or legs or feet, all with a most satisfied grin etched across her face.
“Not even seven inches tall, you sweet little thing, and yet you hold all the data I could ever ask for.” She hummed over the doll of a woman on her desk, warm breath washing over her and forcing a whimper that the subject had been desperate to withhold. “Do you still think you can be good for me, dear?”
Maya’s eyes blinked open, and a woman who was always so full of words and jabs and snide remarks was now only able to force a visible nod towards the giant.
“Good, good, because I need to weigh you, and it would be a shame to have you put up a fight.” April cooed, gently picking the tiny woman up and handling her as though she were a delicate flower ready to crumble at any given second. Maya certainly didn’t mind the careful treatment, and even went as far as to go entirely lax in her hold.
She could trust April. She had to trust April. There were simply no other options, a fact she continued to repeat inside of her own mind as those giant fingers began to tug at her clothes.
“…What are you doing?”
“I’ve already told you, my sweet doll, that I need to weigh you.” The giant replied calmly as her pinching fingers finally managed to get a proper hold of her pants.
“But-”
“You want this to be accurate, don’t you?” The question was objectively innocent, and yet the barbs behind the inquiry could easily be felt as she used it to cut off any argument Maya might have had. It was startling enough that the small woman barely wiggled as her clothing was carefully slid off of her body. “If I’m even a fraction of an ounce off, I might never get you back to normal, and that would be just… tragic, wouldn’t it?” Her teeth rested on her tongue as she beamed a grin at her little subject.
A voice in the back of Maya’s mind continued to yell at her, trying desperately to get her to fight, to flee, to do anything but accept this, but it was getting easier and easier to ignore it. She should have been enraged at the idea of being undressed, but as the massive pinky began to wiggle and slide its way under the front of her shirt, lifting it off and over Maya’s head as if it were made of tissue, she only made moves to assist. After all, she did want to be fixed correctly, and if that only took being undressed by a goddess… well… it was truly a small price to pay.
Nevermind the fact that she’d been shrunken with her clothes, so theoretically they would figure into the equation, nevermind the fact that Maya was perfectly capable of doing this herself. These things were trivial and would only get in the way of a good time.
A good time?
As the words ran through her own mind, Maya had to take a moment to truly consider whether or not her fear and vulnerability might be getting the better of her. Was she enjoying this because she liked it, or was she only trying to convince herself of her enjoyment as a means of surviving this truly bizarre situation?
With the last piece of discarded clothing April slowly slid her fingers around Maya once more to gently lift her, and before she could stop herself, Maya let out a long, low hum of satisfaction. The giant’s thumbs brushed casually against her bare chest as April once again took the time to appreciate the little figure in her palms, and Maya made absolutely no moves to stop her or protest. As excitement bubbled within her, dancing through all her limbs and creating an almost electric feeling between her own legs.
All things considered, her genuine enjoyment of this novel imbalance was one of the few things Maya could be absolutely certain of, if not somewhat confused by.
Sigh, she truly could have stayed there a million years if allowed, simply enjoying the soft warmth of April’s palms. It was bizarre to consider that those very hands could easily destroy her, they could imprison her forever, they could crush or harm her with hardly effort at all.
And yet, she felt impossibly safe there.
This must have been evident to her ethereal warden as well, who was clearly in no absolute rush to move. Motions that should have taken milliseconds were taking lifetimes, and despite this, Maya still had no time to think or react before the whole of her middle was being pressed between plush, soft lips. Her eyes shot open, her heart stopped, her brain froze over, caught fire, and melted within the span of a sudden, sharp inhale.
“Mm, very good indeed.” The large voice hummed against her bare skin, shaking Maya to the core in more ways than physical. A soft moan mixed with a grateful whimper slipped through her throat as she further allowed herself to become undone in ways never before considered.
Being upset took too much energy, hating April was far too taxing, holding a grudge was an impossible weight.
Maya needed to be held like this, unable to resist, unwilling to fight. She needed someone else to do the heavy lifting for her while she sunk deeper and deeper into the relaxing torrent of all her many contradictory feelings.
Tragically for her, things needed to continue, and before she could gather the bits of her brain back together in an attempt to respond to her captor, the warmth of those hands was replaced with the cold metal of a small kitchen scale. She yelped slightly at the sudden change in temperature, feeling more painfully exposed than ever before now that she was sitting alone in a stainless steel bowl. She didn’t even have the comfort of Maya’s gaze to fall back on, as the young scientist’s attention was now fixed on the thing it lived for — the numbers.
Once again, as if the last few seconds of affection hadn’t been some of the most mind-blowing ever experienced, April was back to scribbling notes and jotting down numbers, her pencil gliding all over the notebook with figures and equations she could never hope to understand. Granted, she also did not want to know those numbers, nor did she make any effort to glance at the reading of the scale she was sitting on. It had been jarring enough to know that she wasn’t even seven inches tall; knowing how little she weighed would only further underline her own feelings of insignificance.
Ideally, April would have plucked her back up as soon as she was finished reading the scale, and Maya was doing her best to wait patiently for this, but the cold was making it increasingly difficult. Clearly the other had been taken by her own genius, and before Maya could even open her mouth to ask if she was finished, the wretched thing that had started this whole mess was being hoisted onto the desk before her.
It was threatening, even when inert, though Maya had to wonder how much regret she was currently feeling. Obviously she would prefer not to be small and helpless and naked in a stainless steel bowl at the moment, obviously life would be better without having to be put in a most embarrassing or compromising position to begin with, but now that she was here…
…well. Suffice to say that she did not hate it nearly as much as she thought she would. She wanted to be fixed, but she was getting less and less upset about needing to be fixed.
In fact, her reasons for wanting to be good, for not interrupting April and for sitting quietly in her frigid little bowl were less about the desire to be fixed and more about making the beautiful giant with kind warm hands and soft affectionate lips happy.
Seconds ticked away into minutes, minutes stretched their way into the better part of an hour, and Maya did everything she could to sit patiently and in an effort to be as good as possible. She’d been told already that she wasn’t to move unless she’d been given explicit instruction or permission to do so, and while that likely had only applied to the time she was being measured, she didn’t want to ruin a good streak by making an assumption. Whether or not April had gotten the numbers she needed from the scale was irrelevant, the fact that she’d been nose deep in her own device with a screwdriver for most of the last hour was meaningless, if she needed Maya to stay on the kitchen scale, then Maya would comply.
That being said, she could not help the shivers. They were inevitable, and fighting them off was harder than staying quietly in place, but she still did what she could to simply curl up in place and ignore them while she waited to be needed once again. It wasn’t until April’s phone chimed off with a notification that the larger woman’s attention was broken, but instead of checking to see what she was being alerted towards, her eyes instantly were drawn to Maya.
“Oh, you poor thing, I’m so sorry.” She cooed, scooping the tiny woman into her palm and holding her close to her own chest. “You feel like a little ice cube, are you alright? Why didn’t you say anything?”
“It’s fine, I’m fine.” Maya lied on a hum as she melted into that exquisite warmth. “I didn’t want to interrupt, I wanted to be good.”
April blinked, and for the first time in this whole scenario she truly considered what a threat her flirtatious power-play might have been to the other. The very idea that tall, proud, cocky Maya would be reduced to quietly sitting naked while she worked without any protest at all… well…
It was frighteningly intoxicating, and a dark part of her considered that she should have perhaps done this herself ages ago.
“You are good, Maya. You’re being a very good subject for me. It’s very appreciated.” She smiled, pressing another kiss into the tiny figure in an effort to warm her faster. “I would say that such good behavior warrants a reward while I ready this thing for our first test.”
Maya had barely registered the words before she was once again being deposited into April’s bra, pressed between her boobs and encompassed by her warmth. This time, she did not move to wiggle free, but instead allowed herself to sink further in, only moving to turn her head and press small, occasional kisses into the walls of her euphoric little prison. April once again resumed her work, squeezing her precious passenger once in a while to let her know she hadn’t been forgotten, and eliciting a giggle out of Maya.
She didn’t want this to end, not yet, not when It was really sitting rather well with her. It might have been a long-shot that April got it on the first pass, but Maya wasn’t ready to gamble with such a novel experience just yet. Craning her neck to peer over the lip of her bra and through her open shirt, it was clear that the other was well occupied with her task, and likely wouldn’t notice if Maya did a bit of turning and adjusting.
She waited until she was squeezed again, having noted that the pressure around her subsided a lot more in those first moments after, and quickly wiggled herself around in the cleavage, pressing her back into to the front of the black lace bra, sunken in for good reach and angled upwards to watch the face of the other.
April was so cute when she focused, much as she hated to admit it. It was almost a shame to break it.
One small arm slid itself around the front of the cup, moving in slow, petting motions while it searched for it’s real target. April clearly took note of this, as evidenced by a brief pause and delightful quirk of her eyebrow, but she kept her gaze fixed forward and her hands busy, wanting to quickly end her task so she could go back to focusing elsewhere.
Gentle pets became wider strokes, and as Maya reached further and further into the cup of the bra she was less and less subtle about what her goals were. Eventually the larger woman had no choice but to glance down, and with a devious grin of her own, the Maya found her target.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Her lovely warden asked, a giggle coloring the very edges of her question. Maya wrinkled her nose in response, a feeling of victory swelling in her own chest as her fingertips brushed against the button she was looking for.
“I’m trying to be good for you.” She teased back, hints of confidence seeping back into her voice as she began to pet and play with the nipple, taking extreme joy in the fact that April’s face had so rapidly turned a bright pink. In a situation where the giant seemed to hold all the cards, knowing that she at least had this much power made Maya feel ten feet tall, if only for a moment.
“Oh! You cheeky little-”
“-What?” She whined playfully, leaning more of herself into the cup. She shot April one last look of clearly feigned innocence before diving in completely, pinning herself between breast as bra as she started to kiss around her sensitive areas. “Is this not good?”
The only downside was that she could no longer watch April’s face, but based on the sounds alone she could tell that she was at least succeeding. As she licked and sucked and nuzzled and smooched at the sweet little tip of the boob, she could feel the giant’s massive heartbeat began to quicken, and it was very easy to forget that she’d ever been chilly at all.
“It’s good.” She relented on a whisper, a sweet little whine of her own slipping into the open air. “It’s very good, but I’ve got to finish-… I can’t just leave-….”
“Mm, who’s stopping you? Go on with your work.”
The pressure and warmth around her suddenly intensified, but Maya only paused until she realized that it was the giant’s hand, grabbing at her from outside the garment and still making no moves to actually stop her. Energized by this delightful new game they were playing, Maya summoned as much energy as she could to wiggle free from the grip and over into the other cup, making sure that affections and pleasures were spread evenly between both of April’s comfortable assets.
“If you… if I’m distracted like this Maya…. I might not be able to fix you.” She breathed, her hand pressing into the little figure once again, albeit with far less pressure than before. If the little woman was so eager to take her off task, it wouldn’t be a stretch to consider that they both were experiencing the same hesitation about ending this so soon.
Good. The surprise compromise would at least go over well.
“I’m sure you and your supermassive brain will get there.” Maya sang sweetly from her chest, only taking her mouth from the nipple long enough to get the words out before getting back to her business. It was the sort of statement she would have said snidely so many times before, but had now come out as complimentary, if not playful. April at least didn’t seem to mind it too much, or at least not in the first few moments. While she couldn’t actually see the expression from her soft warm cocoon, she could tell an awful lot from the vibrating hum in the giant’s chest, along with the thrumming of her heartbeat. It only encouraged her to continue, pleasuring the sensitive area as best as she could with two small hands and an eager mouth.
“I thought you were supposed to hate me.” She heard the large woman whisper, barely withholding the soft moan that followed.
“Yeah, well, I thought I was supposed to be taller than you too, but we’re all getting surprises today.” Maya laughed before trying (and failing) to get her whole mouth around the nipple and making up for as much as she could with her tongue.
This was, apparently, April’s limit.
“Okay, alright, I’ve got to finish this, please Maya.” She huffed with a laugh of her own, pulling at the bottom of her bra so that the tiny woman had no options but to tumble down her tummy and into her lap. She was supposed to be the authority here, after all, calling the shots and holding all the power. The pleasure had been nice and she hoped it could continue, but until she finished putting her ray-gun back together part of her focus would remain split.
She’d figured that the fall would be jarring enough to stop Maya for at least few seconds while she recovered, but before she could tug at her shirt and pull the precious little woman out, said precious little woman was already making her next moves.
“Maya…”
“April!” The tiny voice giggled as the woman attached to it managed to undo the button of her pants and wiggle inside of them in an excited search for a new button to play with. The dark of her warden’s undergarments was a bit harder to navigate than the bra had been, but Maya was nothing if not determined, and was able to find her way in just a few short moments.
And when she did, April could swear for a millisecond that she was seeing stars.
Clearly she wasn’t going to get any work done like this, no matter how much she wanted to be done with the task. Sure, it would be incredibly easy to pluck Maya out of her panties and stop her until she was ready, but that wasn’t nearly enough to compel her to do so. Even at an incredibly diminished size, Maya was very, very skilled with her tongue.
She’d never been more grateful for her rolling desk chair. Walking with her precious cargo felt incredibly risky, but with a few clever pushes April had managed to roll them from her desk to her bed, where she carefully slid herself into a more horizontal and easy to access position. It should have been incredible simple to accomplish, and ultimately it was, but doing so with Maya deep into pleasuring her clit was a challenge she had never in a million years prepared for.
It was bliss, it was euphoria, it was fun in a way she’d never before considered and was reluctant to ever give up, and it was theirs to share.
Time once again lost meaning, and could only be measured in the amount of times that Maya had taken her to the moon and back, and even those were becoming uncountable. There was absolutely something to be said for the little woman’s stamina, but eventually April could feel her slowing down, at which point she finally bothered to slide her hand down to rescue her from her own panties.
It was incredible to think that the adorable creature that fit in her hand could be capable of so much, but she supposed it might teach her to second guess Maya Midnight, for better or for worse.
The two lay there for the longest time on April’s bed, Maya spread out on the pillow directly next to her, only moving for the occasional pet or kiss, but eventually, the little subject managed to drift off into a most comfortable sleep.
April couldn’t take her eyes off of the small wonder, noting that her own heart fluttered with each rise and fall of the little chest she observed. There wasn’t a reality in which she would easily give this up, but true to form, April also couldn’t stop thinking about whether or not she even could.
Once she was certain that Maya was out for the night, she carefully slipped out of bed and padded back over to the desk, taking care to be as quiet as possible as she finished the last few adjustments to the device she owed everything to. Sure, she had started out with aspirations to help humanity and further science as a whole, but those things barely mattered to her now. It was now the device that brought her the most pleasurable little surprise of her life, and she was confident it could give her anything she ever wanted.
After a few quick tests on erasers and screws and whatever else she could find on her desk, April was convinced of her own equations, and snuck back over to her to the sleepy little woman she’d left on her pillow.
The feeling didn’t wake her, nor did the glow of the ray’s light nor the sound of the world adjusting around her. For a brief moment, April was even worried that she’d somehow hurt her, but the hum and stretch that followed as Maya rolled over on her pillow soothed all such concerns, allowing the scientist to finally undress and come to bed.
The experiment was a success, and while she was nowhere near “fixed”, whatever that meant now, she was no longer just under seven inches tall. As April made herself comfortable and pulled the other closer to her naked bosom, she had to smile. Roughly 18 inches put her at the size of something like a teddy bear, and this would allow her to snuggle her as sweetly as possible all night long without the same fear of squishing her partner.
She was so excited to know Maya’s reaction to this new development that she almost couldn’t fall asleep, but eventually she got there, cuddling close with the one person she had thought hated her more than anything.
The record of fate began to spin once again, and with it came the beautiful music of an exciting new track in both of their lives.

The record of fate began to spin once again, and with it came the beautiful music of an exciting new track in both of their lives.
just wanted to post a quick public thank you to everyone who has been so wonderfully patient with me in the last few weeks (to a month, lbr). Everything since late May has been a wild ass mental blur, and my brain has been doing loopdeloops of emotions through it all. I promise I'm still here, still vigilant, and still knocking out what words I can when I can. I cannot apologize enough for all the madness. Life really did decide to start doing backflips around me the minute I opened up the commblog x-x.
Things should be settling back to a level state here in the next couple of days, and from there I hope to take off back to a more regular pace for all of us.
I have surgery first thing tomorrow morning, and it's so far looking like everything will go well and I'll just have to deal with the aftermath and recovery afterwards. Zip, bless their entire heart, has already been stepping up the caring-for-wife game and I really am feeling good about going through it with them to help me out <3
I just wanted to make a quick post to say thank you. Thank you so much, so so much, to everyone who has reached out to say such sweet things to us while we're going through this rough time, and massive thank you to everyone who shared the Ko-Fi link and sent along some money. We've had enough people help us out it to fully pay at least one bill we're expecting this month and it's given us so much breathing room that I genuinely can't express how appreciative we are.
I'll do my best to check in as soon as I'm able to be remotely coherent and conscious and let you all know how it went! But for real, thank you all so so much. Hoping this fixes my stupid problem and we can knock that off of the anxieties list <3
So I just want to start by saying that I'm sorry for having to dump this on anyone's feed, so if you don't want the big detailed drag-out, I'll just do a quick sum up here and link the Ko-Fi and drop everything else below a readmore.

In short: Myself and Zip are currently in the midst of navigating the Canadian Immigration process, and due to rule changes that came through as we were moving them up here they haven't been able to work the last several months. We're fixing that as fast as possible, but it's not a quick process. It's made funds a little tight, but we've been surviving.
The new news: A medical issue I have been dealing with since labour day last year has finally gotten to the point that I need surgery for it, and I will need minimum of two weeks recovery afterwards, which... well. That's not something I can really afford to do without running an awful lot of financial risks.
If you would like to help me and Zip out, we would extremely appreciate it. The link to my Ko-Fi is right here, and we thank you immensely for your support and the support of everyone who has already reached out to us or sent things along. Zip is also offering commissions over at @zipafterdark.
The long and winding details:
So just before I flew down to the states to drive Zip back over the border last year, changes were sent through Canadian Parliament that visitors/immigrants could no long apply for a worker's visa from within the country. We didn't have the resources available to us at the time to suddenly postpone an entire cross-country move and a wedding, so we had to go through with the plan as it was. We finally got our initial immigration and sponsorship paperwork to the point where they're allowed to apply for a worker's permit now. We originally submitted our documents in February and it's been a fun ride since then, but I digress: we're finally at this stage now, and hopefully this will roll as smoothly as it can and we can both be working again as soon as it's processed, but... none of this is quick. It sucks. It's been sucking. It's been stressful, and I will not lie, it's made it very very hard to focus on anything but work and recovery to keep working.
Labour day last year I discovered an abscess. Our health system up here is in a huge bind with low numbers of doctors and overworked nurses, it took ages to get it really looked at, and in October it burst and created a fistule. I've had multiple tests including an MRI, and it will require surgery, which I finally got the referral sent off for in April. We were waiting for any kind of letter or correspondence to give us as much notice as possible on the surgery date so I could arrange for the time off I would need with work without stressing everyone out too much, but... then yesterday (Tuesday) happened.
I got a call at work from the surgeon's office. They had a surgery date for me.
It was Friday. Like... this Friday.
I'm booked out nearly two weeks right now and my boss is trying to open a second location/new business, we've been tight-staffed technically since before Christmas but then lost another employee AND the person we were trying to hire to help ease the load on everyone around the same time. I couldn't take 3 days notice (technically less because I would need to ALSO take time off very suddenly for the pre-admission) and tell my boss "hey, I need 2 days off this week and then the next two weeks off. Immediately." so I told the receptionist I couldn't. She told me 'not to worry', they were going to call me back as soon as they had another date open up.
I asked her when the next solid date she could give me for an appointment would be.
She told me she couldn't.
The nature of this surgery and the nature of our ORs right now means that I would get-- "at best", her words-- one week's notice.
This has been a stress nightmare. I talked to my boss, tried to tell them I would do my best to push the surgery to when I had booked time off for my first anniversary (I have had to cancel that time off now because of this, which sucks but is survivable) and hopefully it wouldn't be too hard... but the fact is I didn't know if/when they would call me back. My boss told me to just take the surgery next time they called, we'd figure it out.
Well, they called back today. She managed to pull a miracle shot and get me nine days notice because of an early lead on a cancel for next Friday. So that's better than 3 days notice, but it's still ripping me away from two+ weeks of pay this month. I've got a bank appointment made to rip everything I have in my savings assets out to help us float, and I do have family that have offered and are able to help a little, but I won't lie. I'm scared of how hard this is possibly going to hit us.
In the good news, I suppose, once I'm able to be like... not completely miserable while conscious and maybe be able to sit up a little, I'll have some time to write. That would be a nice stress reducer, if I can manage it. That's... all the good news I can think about right now though.
Me and Zip both still have bills to pay and other payments to make (insurance, credit cards, etc), so if you wouldn't mind helping us with that at all, we would be so, so, so sincerely thankful. Anything helps, and again: Zip has commissions available over at @zipafterdark!
Here's the Ko-Fi again just because you've had to read a lot of my awkward and unpleasant grovelling. I'm sorry, I don't like having to do this, it's a super hard thing for me to do and that's why it took until I was literally staring down the barrel of Oops It's Surgery Time to do it, but I also know there's no harm in tossing it out there just in case.
Much appreciation and love to all of you. Please take care of yourselves <3
so sorry for the radio silence as of late. I know I've had a couple folks reach out to me in the last week or so and I'll get back at you as soon as I can.
My stepdad passed away very suddenly last week. Today is the funeral. (apparently the funeral business back home is poppin' enough for a cremation to have to be delayed so much? idek)
I'm hoping that after today my brain will start going back to a place where it at least wants to distract itself with writing. the time between a death and a funeral is just always a most uncomfortable and strange ass limbo and I've just been doing what I can to be kind to myself and be there for my mom as much as possible.
Thank you so much for your patience. You're all more than welcome to drop me a line or a request for when the gears of my brain start properly chugging along again.

Maybe he should have told someone that he’d signed up for this.
He should have looked a little harder for other work. He should have rewritten his resume, he should have asked around, he should have walked every mile of the city in search of Help Wanted signs, he should have filled in every application available to him.
But no, Alan saw an opportunity for a quick buck, and he’d jumped at it without a second thought.
Though in his defense —if there was any to be had— he would never have imagined what the outcome would be, not in his wildest dreams. “Volunteers Wanted to Test New Products - Same Day Pay” had sounded a lot like he was going to be sampling food or lotion or soap or something reasonable. He would have never considered that they were testing devices, and that those devices could alter him so drastically.
He should have asked more questions. He should have paid more attention. He should have read the very fine print of the piles and piles of paperwork they’d had him sign down to the letter.
He should have made a break for it when they pointed the fearsome beast of modern machinery at him. He should have done anything but stand still on the little ‘x’ made from blue painters tape. He should have taken the large whir and the sudden glow of the device as a bad omen.
There were so… so many things Alan should have done.
But he hadn’t.
Alan had only let it happen to him, like the idiot that he was, and this is where it had landed him: craning his neck up to the sky just to try and meet the gigantic faces of the several story scientists who had pulled the trigger. He’d expected maybe some concern on their part, or even satisfaction at the result, but instead he only found them scribbling on clipboards as if shrinking to a twelfth of his size was as droll of outcome as a vague rash.
“I think we could still call this a success.” Said one, his voice louder than life despite the fact that he wasn’t shouting at all.
“We weren’t trying to build a shrink-ray, Johnson. I’m not sure if we’ll be able to chalk this up as a win to the board of directors.” Replied the equally loud voice of the other as she continued scribbling her notes, sounding almost bored with the situation, if not slightly annoyed.
“But think of all the applications a device like this could have! We could use this to use more sophisticated and complex tools or-...”
“-You’re getting ahead of yourself. We haven’t even assessed the outcome properly.” She snapped before handing her clipboard over to the other, striking green eyes now locking on the tiny form of their subject.
Alan’s knees were shaking. Every breath left him as a small whimper, and his heart was racing so quickly that he was certain that it might tear out of his own chest and go skipping across the floor. He knew what he was, he knew what had happened, and yet his brain was finding incredible difficulty in digesting the idea or accepting it as a situation he was now facing here in reality rather than imagination.
None of this was helped at all by the massive, pinching fingers of the scientist as she plucked him up from the ground, leaving him to dangle in her grasp as she stood once again. Alan was far from proud of the noise that left him in that moment, but it was the least of his concerns as he tried to stop his head from spinning while being shot several feet into the air, or as he tried to regulate his breathing despite the fact that his whole middle was being crushed by the grip of her digits.
“Fascinating,” she whispered, turning him back and forth to observe the entirety of the tiny man. “- he does appear to at least be completely unharmed.”
“Unharmed???” He found himself barking in response, his offense too great to withhold at all.
“If not a bit distressed by the situation.” She continued, apparently pretending that she hadn’t quite heard him despite his volume. “This will warrant further study.”
“Do we have anything in development that could reverse it?” Asked Johnson, who was now peering over his glasses and leaning closer to the little man to observe him like one might a fine, rare jewel.
“We didn’t have anything in development that was supposed to do this to begin with. I highly doubt anyone is working on an enlargement device at this time.” She hummed casually, as if that wasn’t the most terrifying thing that could have possibly been said in those moments. A whole new level of fear gripped Alan, even tighter than then sharp ends of her fingers, and he could only combat the idea by writhing and grunting and whimpering even more than he already was.
“But Dr. Royce, don’t you think-...”
“He signed the contract, Johnson. It’s all in the fine print, or are you also too lazy to read it? We don’t have to fix anything, we’re not liable for anything, and he is to stay on the premises until the end of the experiment.” She held the doll of a person a little closer to Johnson, wiggling him around in front of the man’s eyes and eliciting a small yelp from the subject. “Does this look like a completed experiment to you?”
Johnson appeared to wilt a slight, only for the fact that he was being talked down to again. “No ma’am, I don’t suppose it does.”
“We’ll need further observation to see what we can glean from this. There could be something salvageable if we’re lucky. Contact the boys in the rat-lab and see if they’ve got any open cages.”
They couldn’t… they didn’t actually mean to…-
“Of course ma’am. Do we need to be discreet?”
“Only until I can find a positive spin to put on this”
Alan’s blood stopped, his eyes widened, and terror manifested as little wet trails of tears skipping down his cheeks.
They had no intention of fixing him, they weren’t even apologetic, they only planned to keep him in a little box like an animal until they could figure out some sort of use or reason or ‘positive spin’ for him. In the course of a single afternoon he’d signed away his life and well-being for the potential of a few extra dollars.

“You haven’t been very honest with me, have you Harlan?” The man behind the desk hummed, the words almost sing-song and yet still dripping with a calm, unsettling malice. “If I understand the situation correctly, you’ve been deceiving me from the start.”
“I wish you would let me explain-“
“What is there to explain, dearest? That you’ve been working here under a false identity? That I was part of some wider, undercover investigation? That you were playing a role until you could find the most opportune moment to take me down?” Mr. Price grinned at the other, as if it were all some silly little ruse or a joke that he had been aware of all along. “I don’t need an explanation from you dear, but an apology might be a good place to start.”
“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry.” Harlan breathed, eager to claw his way out of this however he could. “I never meant for this to go as far as it did, I never wanted to get this deep, I never intended to-…” There was an abrupt end to the sentence as the pale, gangly fool of a supposed assistant choked on his own words, reluctant to admit just how far he’d fallen into this mess…
…or worse, just how far he’d fallen for the man he was meant to be investigating.
“Mm, I suppose matters of the heart are rarely anticipated.” Price sighed, his tongue tutting a slight in feigned disapproval. “If I’m honest —and I do so love when I get the chance to be— I also had not planned on you developing the feelings you did. It was my fascination with that particular fact that kept you around this long.”
“Then you must know that I don’t intend to betray you, Friedrich. Let me prove-“
“-Oh there is absolutely nothing you can prove to me now, dearest. Your betrayal started the moment you introduced yourself, I’m afraid. You may consider me flattered, perhaps even endeared, but it will not save you.”
Harlan could feel the hairs on the back of his neck standing at the very idea of what Price could do to him, and just how easily he could do it. That had always been the risk, it was something he thought he’d accepted going into this whole thing. He wasn’t so foolish as to think that going undercover and playing the role of assistant to one of the most powerful magic users in the city wasn’t going to be dangerous. Harlan was trying to link him with the disappearances of several people at this point; he had been perfectly aware that this was something he might not get to walk away from.
It was only when the unthinkable happened, when the idiot would-be journalist began to develop feelings for the man, that he began to think that he could be saved from the inevitable downfall. Price had been so charming, so kind, and had practically spoiled Harlan with attention and appreciation and little gifts and dinners since he’d arrived. The conversations had been so rich, the laughter so genuine, that life plans had started to change. Suddenly, Harlan had found himself caring less and less about frivolities like missing persons and a shot at writing the biggest story of the decade; life with Friedrich Price had been so comfortable, that it had simply become life for him.
In a perfect world, Harlan would have never been found out. In a perfect world he could continue bringing Price his morning coffee and logging his calls and appointments and everything else. In a perfect world… Price might love him back, and they could be happy.
But this was anything but a perfect world, and Harlan was well aware that his fate had already been sealed.
“I didn’t want it to be this way.” He muttered, voice cracking as he squeezed his eyes shut. Whatever the sorcerer was going to do to him, he could already feel it beginning to send deep aches through his bones. “I had hoped… I thought that maybe…”
“…Maybe what? Maybe I would think you were special? That you’d changed? That you could be trusted?” Price chuckled as he stood from his desk, suddenly looking ten feet tall without having grown an inch. “ That all the evenings we’ve enjoyed together might make me sentimental enough to spare you from the sort of fate you were here to investigate, perhaps?” His grin was wicked as he took slow, casual steps towards the shivering man seated across from him, the very one that was now refusing to look at him as the first hints of his spell began to take shape.
The deep ache in his bones persisted, now spreading through his muscles and out to his skin where it began to take the form of a dreadful, widespread itch.
“Please, I’d give anything to stay at your side, just as we were.” Harlan whimpered as he began to double over in his seat. He couldn’t bear to witness what was happening to him, to see why his bones were shifting inside of him, or why his organs needed to re-arrange themselves. It would have been nausea inducing, but his stomach was clearly occupied with other pressing matters, and his terror and sickness only manifested in the hot tears that escaped his shut eyes. “I don’t want to die, I don’t want to betray you, I just want to be with you Friedrich, please grant me the chance to do so, please.”
“Shhhhh.” The older man hushed the other as he reached forward to pet at his hair. “Have some composure, sweet Harlan. You’re not going to die, and I’m not going to send you away.”
The cracking and shifting of bone in Harlan’s legs told a different story, but still he wanted to believe it.
“You’re not?” he squeaked, daring to open his eyes and look up at the predator he managed to fall in love with — a tall, dark, well dressed man with stark black hair and eyes that could make you swoon on sight. Even now, as Harlan felt himself under the effects of wicked magic, as Price grew larger and more terrifying as he loomed over him, he could not help but appreciate the beauty of those damned eyes.
“Of course not. I enjoy you far too much to do away with you entirely.” The monster cooed, his petting hand trailing gently down Harlan’s shrinking face until he could tilt his chin with the tips of his fingers. “I’m going to be keeping you very close, somewhere I can admire you as often as I wish.”
Friedrich Price had no fangs, but you would have a hard time believing it when faced with the grin he was wearing now.
It might have been enough to petrify Harlan, to cause his very heart to stop and ice over in horror for at least some moments, had it not been for the exquisite and novel pain that had spread over the whole of his body. For the first time since the spell had taken hold, Harlan dared to tear his eyes away from Price to look at himself, though the sight was no less terrifying.
Not only was he already well under half the size he’d been before, he was finding that a significant portion of himself was covered in deep blue scales that might have been beautiful had they any business crawling up his chest and down his arms, revealing more and more of themselves as his giant clothes began to pool around him in the seat. At the ends of his arms he witnessed clawed fingers elongating before him with a translucent webbing growing up between each digit, and along his sides he could see spines and fins of a similar deep red pushing through skin and scales.
None of this, however, could compare to the pain and terror of his own legs. Most of the hurt had been centered there, and it was easy to see why; not only where they covered in scales, not only had they stretched and thinned and twisted his dwindling feet to strange sideways angles, but it was clear that they were starting to merge.
He was turning into a small mer-creature, or something like it.
A cry, almost animal in its pure primal nature, escaped him as the reality of it all hammered into him with each wave of excruciating pain. It was simply too much to handle, to much to even think of for very long, and yet he was powerless to stop it, much less reverse it.
“Please, Friedrich.” He sobbed, looking up at man as he seemed to get further and further away. “I’ll do anything, I’ll repay you in a million ways, please don’t do this.“
“But you’re truly so very lucky Harlan. You do know that, don’t you?” Price laughed as he bent down, not wanting to miss a detail of his assistant’s fate. “Generally when someone upsets me like this, they become the seed I give my birds or little bugs I set loose into the big wide world, and those are just the speakable ones. Why, you’ll practically be living a life of luxury by comparison.”
Harlan’s neck was burning as though white hot knives were carving into his skin, but still he did what he could to look into the massive, terrifying, beautiful eyes of the man who was currently destroying his life.
There were no sounds, no pleas, no apologies or curses; the man who had centered his life around his words suddenly found himself at a loss. There were simply none to be had.
There was only terror.
There was only pain.
There was only Friedrich Price.
And Friedrich Price knew it.
“It’s more than a sneak like you deserves, but I think it’ll do the trick.” He grinned, “After all, Harlan, this is a punishment, and a good one I think for self reflection.”
A large hand, the same that had so recently pet at his hair and tilted his chin, now descended upon him like an unthinkable entity. He plucked the tiny merman from the seat he was stuck on between his thumb and forefinger, holding him at eye level as he straightened his posture, a look of wretched satisfaction written across his face like the world’s most horrifying billboard.
Not that Harlan could take it in, not while he writhed and wiggled and flailed around in the giant’s grasp, completely uncoordinated with the new appendage that made up his lower half. The burning cuts in his neck had split open, and suddenly Harlan found himself struggling to breathe. It was as though each lungful of air was only giving him half of what he needed, leaving him gasping between sobs and attempted screams.
“And I really to want you to think on what it took to get us here, you understand?” Price hummed, the singsong tone returning to his voice as he crossed the room to one of the many elaborate aquariums that filled the office. “Every lie, every risk, everything you had to coordinate to not only maintain the ruse, but to even get as far as you did. I want you to ruminate on every single step it took for you to get here Harlan…”
He paused at the tank, the pathetic little fish of a man still wiggling uncontrollably between his fingers.
“…They’ll be the last ones you ever take.”
In a flash of an instant he was splashing down into the tank, enveloped by the cold water that would now be his home. He wanted to hate it, he wanted to feel uncomfortable or ill or something, but the terrible truth was that he couldn’t.
He would need the relief that his brand new prison provided, and he could do nothing but try to hide himself from those beautiful eyes just outside of the glass.
The newest resident in a vast aquarium.
