Some context on Trump assassinating Qassem Soleimani
Soleimani was Iranās top military official and the second most powerful person in the country
People comparing this to drone strikes on people suspected of terrorism are missing this very important point. This was not a drone strike on a terrorist group. This was assassinating a high-level official from another country.
Trump had him assassinated without Congressional authorization. According to Pelosi, Congress wasnāt even notified. We found out about the attack when it was announced last night on Iraqi television.
Lindsay Graham is now saying he knew about the plan 2 days ago. This means he is either lying to make it seem less like Trump did this out of nowhere, or Trump is selectively briefing members of Congress who heās friendly with.
The official justification for this assassination was Soleimani wasĀ āactively planningā an attack on Americans. Those of you who remember the lead up to the Iraq war may recognize thisĀ āpreemptive strikeā language.
Whether or not Soleimani was anĀ āenemyā isnāt important. Putin is an enemy. North Korea threatens everyone. But thereās a reason we donāt just assassinate officials from other countries, even if they demonstrably donāt like us, and thatās because it can start a war
You might notice that those other examples I used have dangerous weapons of their own. Thatās what is material here. Trump, in his zeal for destroying Obamaās legacy, threw out the Iran Nuclear Agreement. That agreement was a big deal because it brought Iran to the negotiating table for the first time in years. Now? Never again. But also, this is terrible for anyone who sincerely believes in the goal of global nuclear disarmament, because itās essentially confirming that unless your country has the firepower to reasonably threaten others, there is no guarantee of safety, because the US wonāt even hold to its own agreements. What incentive then is there to not build weapons of your own?
This act is just the latest bit of bizarre foreign policy decisions by the Trump administration. The Kurds helped us in the fight with Syria, and we betrayed them. Trump gives North Korea everything, including a public appearance with a US President, and they continue to threaten everyone with their missiles. Iran has an agreement with us, and we throw it away and kill their top general.
Please remember Trump is currently an impeached President, implicated in several crimes, in an election year.Ā

My Personal Study Tips
Keep in mind these are the things that work for me and I am just sharing how i cope with low motivation in my studies!
Going to a public place
This is really important to me as I find it hard to study at home. I would often seek out cafes with nice aesthetics. This encourages me to actually study when I am out and I would highly recommend this tactic if you're someone who is influenced by your surroundings as cafes or even nice libraries would make you think "Ah, this is such a good place to study."
Listen to lyricless music
Or music in a language you don't understand so your brain would not be distracted. You may not notice it but listening to music with lyrics you understand actual makes it harder for you to memorise content! I usually go for lofi or chill music in another language. (Korean, French etc.)
Dress up nice
There is just something about putting together a cohesive outfit and taking time to get yourself ready that makes you feel like "I'm going to get s**t done today." Just try it, trust me.
THE RITUAL IS COMPLETE

Starting my 2020 planner! Excuse while my camera focuses on the cup instead.
It took me a while to realise that despite my love for art, planners work better for me rather than bujos.

Someone's trying to follow me and my mom home, Jesus Christ this is terrifying
Ok, just pulled into a fire station.
Word of advice, if someone tries to flag you down on a highway, pointing to the back of your car, there isnāt anything wrong. They want to kill you. Never stop for them.
They may try to pin you in a lane on the highway. They wonāt let you get ahead of them, they will try to prevent you from getting behind them. Fuck traffic laws. Gun it, throw on your brakes, honk your horn and do not stop. get away from them at all costs. Donāt go home, go to the police or go to a fire station. Explain what happened and have them look over ur car.
Reblog this around. Seems like common sense, but also not something that can happen to everyone.
I was on the I-5 in Washington State. The van was white, with blacked out windows. There was graffiti or something on the right side of the van, but I was too scared to read it.
Everyone please be safe, if you are in the Puyallup or Tacoma area, please be even more careful.
If you need to pull over, if possible, take the nearest exit and park somewhere well lit with people around. Gas stations, other 24/7 locations.
If a copās got their lights on and are trying to pull you over, put your hazards on, pull to the right lane, and slowly drive somewhere public. You can use your cell to call 911, confirm itās really a cop behind you, reassure the operator youāre just pulling over somewhere safe because you donāt trust the shoulder of the highway etc.
This happened to my mom in DC in the 70's. A strange man was watching her pump gas at the station and she noticed him driving behind her afterwards. She experimented to be sure he was following her. She made a random right and then left turn and he kept up. So, when she got to her homestreet she kept driving and desperately looked for a gas station where she was friendly with the guys there. A group a black guys she knew in passing worked there. Well, once she got there, she said she hopped out of the care in a panic and told them what was happening... So at least three of them went out front and yelled "HEY, MAN!" and the guy sped off. But it's not over yet. They told my mom to hang out for awhile because the man could still be lurking. Since one of them would be getting off soon and would follow to make sure (the knew his make and model and the plates). Sure enough... The man WAS waiting a little ways down the road at a grocery store to start following again... Dude honked a cut a fuss and again he sped off. My mom went to the police station afterwards (the gas station dud vouched for her and gave a description of the guy). So BOTH cars followed my mom home and the station sent a care out to watch her apartment that night. My mom never saw that guy that was following her again, but she is certain he was determined to do her harm at her apartment.
Guys, if a car follows you:
DO NOT GO HOME!
GO TO THE NEAREST POLICE STATION/FIRE STATION!
This has been happening a lot more recently in the Seattle/Tacoma area
If you can't get to one of these, get your ass to a liquor store. Thanks to robbery and drunk folks, people who work at liquor stores know exactly how to put the place on lockdown and the cops will get there damn fast if they're called.
Itās fucking scary that we even have to share this information around. Reblog to save a life.
This has way too many notes and is a sad commentary on society but continue to share this information. Spread it around!
Also! If you think someone is following you make 4 left or right turns in a row (basically driving in a square) if they do it too, theyāre following you.
I got these from various used/rare book sales on campus š (fun fact, i got a 4$ hardcover copy of the secret history at one of those sales, which is great bc my paperback is super annotated and worn out)
