Script For Drama Project 2015
Resume: Although the audience think that the short drama is a break-up from a guys perspective, it is not, in fact it follows his journey of dealing with the depart of his girlfriend and how he struggles with coming to terms with her death.
Main Guy: Joe
His Girlfriend: Chloe
Mates: Cameron & Callum (Mate 1 & 2)
People at the party: 6 people
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Joe is sitting on the side of his bed; the camera zooms in very slowly representing going into his world. He his holding his phone in his hands, looking at the screen, the camera angle soon switches to over the shoulder showing what Joe is looking at on the screen of his phone. The camera switches back to mid shot of Joe sitting on the bed (Front view)
"What have I done? I miss her so much"
He then throws his phone onto the bed and picks up the frame that sits on a small bedside table next to his bed. The camera then switches to over the shoulder and shows the picture in the frame, which is of the two of them (Joe and Chloe smiling). The camera then reverts back to the original shot (front view, mid shot) He then puts the frame down softly next to him on the bed, puts his head in his hands and cries.
(Before the next scene there will be memory of Joe and Chloe in the room, being happy)
Joe is sitting down at a house party (Either his phone or a drink in his hand - UNDECIDED - ) There are 3 people standing either side of him as he sits in a chair not focussing on the party. The 6 people are laughing and smiling, enjoying the party.
Joe is in centre frame. Using a track, we will track into Joe sitting down, soon cutting out the 3 people on either side of him. The camera will then only be focussing on Joe. This connotes that Joe feels as if he is the only one in that room and he feels empty and lost.
The camera then pans around the room and shows that there is no one there, which portrays how lonely Joe is now and how he is slightly loosing it.
(No Speaking in this scene, only laughing will be recorded for background noise)
(Before the next scene there will be a memory of Joe and Chloe at a party)
Joe and his mates are in his living watching the TV. His mate’s look at one another and wonder how Joe is dealing with the recent depart of his girlfriend.
Mate 1: "So Joe, how’s work going?"
Joe: " Yeah alright I guess, they’ve been really nice about it"
Mate 2: "Yeah that’s the same with my mum”
Joe *nods and looks down at his hands*
(Mate 1 & 2 look at each other worried)
Mate 1: "Joe, I can’t even imagine how hard it must be to lose someone who meant so much to you. You know we're always here if you ever need anyone to talk to, alright?"
Joe: *sniffs and looks at his at his mate with sadness* "thanks mate, It's just so hard, you know?"
(Joe then breaks down and his mates comfort him)
Joe is walking down a street with his mates; Joe is trying to get involved but still distant. As they pass 3 girls he thinks he has seen his departed girlfriend.
He then goes over to the girls and taps the one whom looks like his departed girlfriend and she turns around and she looks at him confused and he stops, looks upset and walks away.
(Laughing of the guys, girls and birds (Maybe) will be recorded as background noise)
(Before the next scene there will be a memory of Joe putting his hands over Chloe’s eyes, surprising her)
Wait by M83 begins to play in the background.
Joe stands in front of a memorial holding a rose or flower in his right hand. He then softly puts the flower down on the memorial and walks away wiping a tear from his eye.
Joe: "I love you and I miss you so much"
As he stands in front of the memorial flashback memories will be playing before Joe puts the flower down.
The camera then pans up to the sky and fades to white. From there the credits start rolling.
