callum turned back to her after his comment, his own lips curling up into a smile mirroring her own, finding satisfaction in having been the reason for it. sure, typically, he would have been friends with those girls, or friendly, rather, and he had has a couple of short, meaningless conversations with them. but, he wasn’t the type of guy to cling to those kinds of people, the fake, two faced assholes who only have one thing on their mind - themselves. he liked people he could have a conversation with and not get bored - people like his brothers, and mikey. his smile soon returned as a pencil was handed over to him, “well thank you -” he started, nodding his head when she said her name, “- zoey,” he placed the pencil at the head of his desk, leaning back in the chair, “so, zoey, what’d you do over break?”

It was weird, talking to someone outside of her usual group of friends. She didn’t really have a lot of people she was close to but they were mostly loners that had found their way to each other in odd circumstances. If the two of them started talking, well, this was definitely an odd circumstance to say the least. After being in a class with him for nearly a year, she wasn’t sure why he’d suddenly decided to spark up a conversation. “Mostly just stayed home, caught up on tv. Went to my friend Regina’s house a few times.” Zoey knew it was boring, but she was more of a homebody for sure. “You..?”

“so - they’re bitches then,” he said simply, shrugging his shoulders as his suspicions were confirmed. callums eyes shifted yet again as he heard the familiar voices coming from the entrance to the classroom, sitting slightly higher in his chair. as their expressions changed, he smirked, knowing he had succeeded in annoying them - enough for them to sit a couple of rows away, anyways. he glanced back over to zoey, noticing her shift in deminor, “hey - you got a pencil?” he asked, not even bothering to check in his own bag for one before he asked, “m’ callum, by the way,” he added after a moment, reaching his hand out for her to shake if she pleased.

Zoey fought the urge to laugh, the words catching her pretty off guard as her lips twitched into a half-smile for the briefest of moments. By his appearance, she’d have guessed that he was friends with the girls and even now part of her sorta wondered if this was just a joke getting more and more elaborate. When he asked for a pencil she nodded, grabbing a spare mechanical one from her bag and she handed it to him. Pausing when he offered a hand shake, she did end up shaking it for a second before pulling her arm back, crossing them on her desk. “I’m Zoey...”
