like i know it’s a ship people already like but the whole conversation with paul and clive in the rv has always just given me the vibe that clive has (or has had) feelings for graeme ; ones that he hasn’t outwardly expressed because he knows that graeme doesn’t see him that way.

it also explains why they’re both so adamant about telling people that they’re not together. graeme does it because he genuinely doesn’t want the assumption that they’re together, while clive (to me) is only going along with denying the assumptions to downplay how he feels.

also i don’t know, i think we need some more rep for doomed pegg & frost character pairings!

Clives one sided pining for Graeme is peak angst and doomed attraction, and it may just be wishful thinking but I like to think that (like hot fuzz) it may have been canonical or intentional atleast to a point. His jealousy is stated pretty obviously, whether that be romantic or platonic, its clear he definitely has feelings for him.

Unfortunately the popularity of one sided Clive x Graeme has led to there being absolutely no fics where they get together and live happily and that makes me sad </3

Daisy Steiner is nonbinary at LEAST

I personally like to think Daisy is trans fem but I totally see where you're coming from.

She definitely gives off queer vibes in some sort of way, gender aswell as sexuality. I can see her being very comfortable with her sexuality and presenting herself in whatever way she feels is most fitting. She would present masculine, feminine, or androgynous depending on what she's feeling. She doesn't seem like the type of person to stick to any firm lables.

She's definitely experimented in university and has dated a few women. I do feel like daisy would identify as bisexual, and fall under the trans umbrella in some way.

But thats just my headcannon and I love seeing people interpret her character in any way they enjoy or relate to <3

Something they don't really talk about in The World's End that i found interesting is Andy's relationship with driving, especially in the context of being the designated driver.

Despite the themes and the overall plot centred around him being the "sober" one (until later in the film), we never actually see him drive a car in the entirety of what we see on screen. In fact, after the group discovers blanks have taken over the town and hes prompted to be the designated person to drive them back, he immediately downs 5 shots so he doesn't have to be the one to drive. He didn't even drive to meet up with Gary and the others, he takes the train. (Which, to be fair, so do the rest of them) I'm aware they don't neccisarily need a car to get around until they drive to Newton Haven, but it still felt intentional.

All things considered, I have a theory that Andy just. doesn't drive anymore. Andy clearly never forgot about that night in 1997 when he nearly died trying to get Gary to the hospital. Hes been afraid to drive ever since. He hated the idea of the golden mile from the start, not just becuase he'd have to see Gary again, but because he knew he'd have to be the one to take everyone back. In actuality, I think that Gary may have been the only reason that he even went. Becuase a part of him still cares about the man that ruined his life. Enough to drive him home drunk all over again.
