What do you think the scenery would look like in a Midwestern Zone? (this is the main acct for Zonerunnr)
(Im so sorry about my late response !! I wasn't feeling well but hopefully my answerll make up for my absence ! 😶)
Ahh well as a Midwest joy I can tell you exact ! (Especially because Madame Bitch will hate me for it)
So our Capital is called Motor City... And it's a lot like Battery City... Except a lot of the buildings were from before BLI came in and are just made to look pretty. It's very bright, there's lots of lights, tunnels, and bridges,, it's like the city's constantly moving. (Kind of stupid they added lots but don't bother fixing the broken huh?) After word spread of Killjoy's escaping Battery City, BLI upgraded the security/cameras in Motor City (hence why killjoy's tend to wear darker "grungier" outfits in the Midwest... Gotta blend in with what you can). Underneath the "glorious" city there's the Lobby,, yes just like in Bat City too,, it's very dirty and it's where BLI likes to keep all the ugly in the city they can't hide. All the factories,, the overworked class and droids,, it's just... Not pretty. I assume it's very similar to the slums there... They also make an extreme effort to make water inaccessible,, don't believe what they say. The water is fine... But don't be stupid and try to break the walls down yourself
Everything is neat in Motor City. Everything is clean. Everything is perfect... But outside the city everything is in ruins. It's such a drastic difference it's almost incomprehensible. The zones on the west coast are very open, but the zones of the Midwest tend to be more cluttered... In the first zone there's nothing but abandoned vehicles, businesses, and factories. Even buildings so tall you can't even see the top of em ! Completely in ruins... But since everything's so close to the city the Dracs/Exterminators patrol it quite frequently. That's why anything you want/need has to be quick and if you're just escaping you don't want to stop running until you at least hit Suburbia. Don't get me wrong though... We killjoys look out for each other, there are plenty of paths/tunnels made by the joys to safely (try to safely) navigate even the more dangerous zones.. but keep in mind BLI has got their own paths too.
Suburbia... It's also very cluttered, just not as much. It's filled with abandoned homes/schools/drug stores, most of which have been made into temporary homes for killjoys. You have to keep moving,, so most joys leave what they can/have to spare for other joys to use... And they do the same and so on ! There's lots of graffiti and art everywhere as well.. cursing BLI mostly (and obviously). Everyone expects things to be very green but... Everything's still growing back ! (Nuclear war harms everyone ! Haven't seen rain here in god knows how long) There's some, but it's limited and mostly dead/brush
And the reason I group them together is because... Everything really looks the same, you start getting into what used to be fuckin Ohio.. buildings are more spaced out, there are forests of bare trees everywhere,,, lots of fields too (do your best to avoid ! Remember you can't let them catch you!!), some farms if you're up north... As you get further into the zones it starts to look more like the zones surrounding Bat City.. not sandy, but deserted,, it can get hot,, maybe the right words suffocating, we've just had a drought for as long as I can remember (* forgets what he's doing half the time *), though I've heard from older joys that they've seen snow,, now I don't know if that's true, I just know that we've (BLI has) fucked up
