Blackbox Radio Vol. 1, Mischief
Iāve always found myself surrounded by interesting people. Travelers, skateboarders, punks, graffiti writers and various other sub-sects of low-life subcultures. These were dreamers and story-tellers, daring people who understood that life is best when lived quickly, that things didnāt happen unless you got up off the couch and left the house. They werenāt afraid to take chances and pushed themselves into unfamiliar territory, realizing that although taking risks did not always land you in the most advantageous situations, it usually made for good stories later on.
Blackbox Radio is a compilation of these firsthand accounts, of people telling their own stories about their own trials and experiences. This is the first installment in what will become an ongoing series. Each volume will feature a new topic with stories that touch on that particular theme, all collected on cassette tapes and available for streaming online.
The theme for this first volume is Mischief. The cassette features six anonymous stories at 42 minutes in length, recorded by Matthew Wallenstein and Reggie McCafferty. Visit www.thesickpeople.com to listen or pick up a tape.
Please feel free contact us with any stories youād like to share.
Very cool project my friend Reggie McCafferty and Matthew Wallenstein just started. Theyāve been recording first-hand stories as part of an ongoing series. This first volumeās theme is mischief and has some really wild stories for fans of doing bad-kid stuff. I did a little lettering for the insert as well.
