basically i start my second semester of college on the 20th and idk how busy the semester is going to be, so i’m gonna play it safe and assume i’ll be busy snfjksngk i’ll still be on periodically but it’ll probably only be on weekends or evenings/early mornings est. sending love everyone’s way!!!

The war has changed. In the days of Sozin and his daughter, Fire Lord Kazue, the Fire Nation fought with armies and warships and brought the world to its knees. But Kazue saw that the war was unsustainable. That they were going to lose. So she taught her son peace. She showed her firstborn Azulon how to reach a stalemate, how to end the war without letting anyone know they had lost. This is your legacy, she promised him: remaining a global power without shedding any more blood.

Fire Lord Azulon cooled down the war, but people still fight. The world is no longer a warzone, a multicultural city has sprung up on Fire Nation conquered lands they’ve ostensibly given back to the Earth Kingdom. The Four Nations live in peace, but a charged wind blows throughout the world. Everyone with a nose can smell sulfur, can tell the half-brokered peace is a powder keg. This world is unsustainable, something will set it alight

The war has changed. It’s traded armies for intelligence; small groups of highly skilled individuals fight for their Nation in the shadows. People like Sokka and Suki, who are about to rip the Fire Nation a new one and trick these sons-a-bitches into giving up all their intel.

Or so they think.

Jet survives the events of Ba Sing Se, due to Sokka’s interference. Now, there’s a plan to invade the Fire Nation, and while Jet doesn’t have the best history with the mind behind it, he’s not passing up the opportunity.

Joining the invasion effort brings him face to face with Sokka once again and this time the two boys actually manage to strike a balance between themselves that slowly grows into something unexpected.

Mai tries not to think about how nice it was to feel Ty Lee’s hand against her own, tries not to think about how it would feel to have her press kisses against her palms or feel her eyelashes fluttering against her cheek. In some ways she feels nostalgic for when they were kids when Ty Lee was equally as touchy but before she learned to respect Mai’s boundaries. What a fool she was, to establish such firm boundaries in such harsh fashions. Mai hopes that Ty Lee will trip up, hug her for too long or too tight, press a kiss against her cheek in greeting as she does for so many others.

Of course, Ty Lee never does. She’s too good, cares too much about Mai’s comfort, and tries so hard to make sure that she is never the cause of distress. Mai has never been described as touchy, and she made sure that everyone knew it.

She wishes she could think of a way to tell Ty Lee that she might be the only exception.

But she… she definitely liked Jin. She was pleasing to look at and hadn’t backed down when Azula had challenged her (Zuzu and Uncle thought that the challenge was unnecessary, but if this Earth Kingdom girl couldn’t handle a mere small challenge, how would she fair on an actual date with her?). That was an impressive feat, certainly. Not to mention enduring.

They had spoken for only a short period of time, but there was something about this girl that made Azula curious. And, on some level, excited. Perhaps her brother constantly talking Jin up before he introduced them had done something, because Azula found that she was a bit smitten after one conversation.
