I’ve been really into the cells at work fandom lately, so I decided to write a cute little blurb with a couple WBC’s just being bro’s. It was a little weird to write as they don’t actually have names but I feel like it turned out okay.
This particular fic was influenced by this picture, Image here drawn by the wonderful @just-a-nervous-bean.
WBC 1146 was not happy as he sat there, arms crossed as he let the cold water, run over his body.
His teeth already starting to chatter as 4989 helped rinse the bacterium off of his work uniform, not something he particularly enjoyed but it was a necessary procedure for all Neurophil’s.
1146 just wished that 4989 would hurry up, instead of nagging him about his health and how he should take better care of himself. There was nothing wrong with the way he took care of himself…even if he occasionally neglected some necessities for the sake of efficiency.
His thoughts, however, were interrupted by a sharp flick to the back of his head, rubbing the spot as if it would take away the discomfort.
“You know it’s rude to not listen to someone when they’re talking to you.” 4989 chided him, as he continued to rinse the blood off of his college,” I was asking if the water was too cold, I can hear your teeth chattering.”
1146 continued pouting trying to hide the was he was shivering behind crossed arms, ”I’m fin-ne.” He grumbled, his voice shaking slightly.
4989 rolled his eyes, muttering something under his breath that 1146 couldn’t quite catch but he was sure that they weren’t kind words.
The air held a heavy silence, the only sound being running water as 4989 finished rinsing him off but he paused momentarily as soft sound caught his ears,” Hih’ihih.…”
An amused smiled played on his lips as he realized what was happening moving the water off of his chilled friend, ” Hih’ihihkntsShh!!” 1146 let out a harsh half smothered sneeze.
4989 laughed,” Bless you.” He said, patting 1146’s back,” Sorry, I guess it really was too cold.” He said getting to his feet,” I’ll go grab some towels.”
1146 just sat their arms crossed as he tried to retain some sort of warmth sniffling away, swiping a wrist under his nose. He yawned feeling exhausted from a long day of work, the poor thing would have nodded off, if a towel weren’t thrown at his head.
“Hey at least dry off before you decide to take a nap.” 4989 teased him, kneeling down in front of him taking the towel to dry the other cells hair roughly chuckling when he was done pieces were sticking up everywhere.
1146, however, didn’t look as amused in fact he looked like he was going to…,” Hih-ihih’KtschnshH..” Do that. 4989 frowned tucking a dry towel around his shivering forms, rubbing 1146’s arms up and down trying to warm him up a little as the other cell shivered.
4989 wondered if there was a way to warm him up a little quicker, remembering something that RBC was talking about the other day,” I’ve got an idea.” He said grinning helping the other WBC up, leading the confused cell.
1146 was pleased when he felt the warm steamy air hit his face as he looked around quickly realizing that they were in the nasal cavity.
His face flushing a light gray as he remembered coming here with RBC to relax after an unusually long day of work.
They found a place to sit and relax, and he could already feel the chill leaving his shivering frame letting his body rest, as he closed his eyes.
He could hear 4989 laughing amused,” See not all of my ideas are terrible.” He said, though 1146 didn’t answer and one look at the other cell told him why.
It looked like 1146 had managed to nod off snoring softly, making 4989 chuckled, pulling his friend a little closer as he let him rest his head on his shoulder.
Fully aware of how embarrassed he’d be when he woke up, but 1146 worked too hard anyway, the other cell deserved a break.
