[the part about the Legend catches him off guard] [silent for a moment as he considers] [his voice is a little softer now, more thoughtful] That is your goal? To find the Legend?
Well, yes! It’s my home, after all~!! [He bums happily as he goes about his business, shooting at the astroid]
We all want to go home at some point, don’t we? [Smile smile~~~]
[now he isn’t only caught off guard but confused] [the legend is… well, a legend] [how can he say he’s from here]
I’m not sure I understand. It’s your home? You were born there? [a brief pause] Or it’s where you feel home is…?
Oh! I was born there. [Hop hop] It’s a nice place to be, I can’t wait to be home!
Do you ever get to go home?
You were… born there? That is… [an exhale and he blinks a few times] Well, that is definitely a first! What was it like?
[again he’s continually surprised by this man’s choices of questions and responses] I do not go home very often. Occasionally I stop by to see.
It’s really nice! It’s really green and there’s lots of farm land there too! My family still lives there, and I want to see them.
Do you see your family when you go home?
Really? It's no different from your typical planet then?
[a barely audible sigh] No, I do not.

“Oh calm down I know exactly what I am do-” and just as she says that she reaches out, touching it, cold metal against synthetic flesh, her eyes flickering as a zapping sound is heard. Her body jolts before going still, limp, arm dropping to her side.

She roared in laughter and triumph at his gesture before wrapping her arms around him.
“Oh come on big guy, no need to get like that. You humans are crafty enough to replace your heart if I cause you to have a heart attack. I think at least.”
With an overly exaggerated sigh, he patted her back, still seeming exasperated, though whether or not it was being forced and a smile was hiding behind his expression was a mystery.
“Yes, but what if we aren’t nearby a hospital? And who will give a pirate medical attention?” He pulled back, smiling slightly as if to say he was teasing, “You’re right. I probably won’t die, but still–” He waved a finger, “Don’t do that.”
For a second a bit of amusement flashed in her eyes as she gave him a little smirk.
“You make it sound like hospitals ain’t corrupt. Flash them a bit of money and suddenly your file is a John Doe. No pirate associated with your name.” Teasingly she bit at the air as he waved a finger at her before laughing, strutting on ahead.
“Pretty sure I’m Captain, not you”
He shook his head, smile still apparent despite his best efforts to conceal it, "Of course you're the Captain, Captain." Falling in step beside her he continued, only pausing briefly to shoot her a look, "But that doesn't mean you're allowed to go off and get yourself killed. Someone's got to keep an eye on you, yes?"
Excuse me, but have you seen- [presses a button on her tablet and a hologram of a human appears] -This man?
Last week. [raises an eyebrow] Why do you ask?
He was here last week? Did you happen to see where he went?
[Turns off the hologram and opens a notepad app]
[bounty hunter, he thinks] [the man in question is a well known criminal]
Ah, I did, but first– [a pause and innocent smile] have you seen– [and there’s a couple tap-tap-taps and a woman’s face appears on his screen] this woman?
[She purses her lips]
Yeah, a sector or two ago. I think she’s cut her hair since that was taken.
[seems to be studying the hologram before pressing another button and it winks out of existence] Unfortunate. Pretty hair she had too.
[a nod towards her] The man you are looking for headed towards System Sidus not long ago. Looking for some friends I would think.
"Pass the gay- I mean, the salt."
Sitting in the dining hall with his fork in one hand and a hearty slab of pork hanging from his mouth, he did nothing more than turn to his bench companion with an expression of pure perplexity. Whatever this dude was asking for, Alfred had no idea. Perhaps he was using some sort of ~hip, gay slang~ that Alfred had yet to learn - he was starting to get a little less hip with the kids and could barely keep up with all the new slang words nowadays.
Yes, yes. That was definitely it.
“Uh…are you asking me to jizz on your food or do you just want salt?”
Ivan slowly glanced up, face reddening noticeably thanks to his pale cheeks. Had he actually just said that? Had he actually just said that? He wasn’t some adolescent child to go about spouting nonsense, but… well, fuck. Clearing his throat he gestured towards the salt. Maybe the other would forget, “No, just the salt is fine.”
At least it was a relief to know he was in disguise rather than his day to day clothes. Because of that he hopefully wouldn’t be recognized as a pirate. That would be bad for more than one reason, but for now, he wouldn’t have to deal with the added embarrassment of breaking the expectation that pirates act like… well, like pirates.
Well, at least now he knew that he wasn’t out of touch with the youths these days. He didn’t spend hours scouring the internet for memes just to fall out of touch. It’d kill him to know that he’d missed even a single viral internet trend. Besides, it helped Alfred ignore his steadily increasing age and live in denial. He was only twenty but that didn’t matter, ok.
Tossing the salt over to the very clearly flustered man, Alfred couldn’t help it if he wanted to fuck with him. Dude looked like he’d be easy to mess with and hey, his phone was out of battery - he needed some entertainment.
“Hey! Something wrong with my jizz or somethin’?”
Ivan liked to think he was good at a number of things; combat, sabotage, espionage, hacking, acting– Well, alright. He supposed that’s where the list came to an end. Acting. Now typically he could hold character say if it were a mission of some sorts, but this? How the hell was he supposed to respond to that?
Looking more than a little uncomfortable Ivan fiddled with sleeves of his coat, trying to maintain composure and avoid eye contact. He couldn’t tell if the other was serious or not. He hoped he wasn’t, but one could never be too sure, so after a few more seconds of calming down he glanced over, cheeks still flushed.
“It would be rude to ask you to do something so personal after we’ve only just met, don’t you think?”

He rolled his eye in annoyance. Great. He had been spotted trying to steal someone else’s treasure. Normally he would have attacked the ship with his crew and fought until it was safe enough for him to run and grab the treasure, but today he felt like being sneaky. He had sneaked onto the enemy ship and quietly searched around until he found a single treasure chest in a room. He thought he had gotten away with it, but just as he was about to carry it off, he had been spotted by someone.
Why wouldn’t he just have a peaceful day? He stood up and turned to the other. He smirked as he looked at the other, unfazed by his size, “and who’s going to make me?”
His eye widen when he felt a presence over him. He slowly raised his head and gasped when he saw the tall priate had already made his way to him. How did he move so fast? He scrowled. The man was a giant, so of course it only took a few short moves where it would take a normal sized man at least a minute, which would have given Arthur enough time to point the gun and fire, but now he was caught with his arms halfway up.
He knew if he tried to fire his guns or made any sudden movements, the giant would no doubt cut his head off with that axe before he could even move an inch. He couldn’t just surrender and beg the giant to spare his leg; his pride wouldn’t let him.
He needed to think of something quick.
He looked Ivan in the eyes and smirked, “do you fancy a game?”
Ivan could tell when someone was scrambling. In fact he himself had been in the situation more than a few times before. It wasn't hard to see that this other pirate was desperate for any way to escape the situation, and honestly Ivan couldn't blame him. It never was a good thing to find yourself cornered on an enemy ship.
With a smile bordering on unnerving and dropping hints of displeasure Ivan patted his axe with his other hand, leaning back slightly, “How about you drop the guns and leave, yes? I think that would be better than any game.”
The other wouldn't be able to try anything without receiving a blow to the face. Ivan was in no mood for child's play.
"Careful there, sir. That isn't exactly safe."

"It would be best to watch where you step, Miss."
There’s a brief moment of silence from her after hearing that before her eyes narrow and her hands go to her hips, one beneath the cloak like jacket she’s wearing and now resting atop the hilt of her knife. “Excuse you?” She wasn’t one to take being threatened lightly, especially by a complete stranger for no reason at all. “I’m allowed to go wherever I want, and no threats are gonna change that.”
A smile spreads across his features and his eyebrows shoot up in half-surprise, half-amusement. She took it as a threat? Well-- She does seem on edge; on a mission, perhaps? It makes sense for someone in her circumstances to be a little jumpy, but still, that just makes him even more curious.
“My apologies,” He folds his hands in front of him, still smiling despite himself, “You looked like you were going to step in--” He gestures to a puddle of acid. These aren’t the safest parts after all, “--that.”

Konstanze was already on edge, so when she heard a noise, the reaction was a bit... impulsive. She wound back, and landed a solid smack on the unfortunate man behind her. "WHO ARE YOU--"
Ivan stumbled back, more than slightly surprised to be met by a hand to the face. He had noted her metal arm moments before, so it was more than a relief to have it be her ‘normal’ arm rather than the mechanized one. It was never fun to get hit in the face with a hunk of metal; that he knew thanks to being on both sides of the impact at different times.
“Vl–” Damn, that had not been a soft hit either. With a pained laugh he held his hand to his face where he was sure that wetness was blood. Nothing major, just a bloody nose, but he definitely hadn’t been prepared, “No one, just– Ah, Miss, you hit very hard.”

Something was not right. There was no way he could have known why she was here- In fact, Konstanze really wasn’t supposed to be there first place! That’s why she was so jumpy when he made a noise. Guilty conscience, perhaps. Even so, the woman was undoubtedly more authorized to be sneaking around the area than he, seeing as this was Consono territory- And somehow, Konstanze suspected him to be under any rule but.
She’d have to play it casual for now. This man could be dangerous, after all. Best to not make him angry. “Oh, of course. My mistake. I didn’t realize anyone else would doing this.” She laughed. His nosebleed seemed to be getting the better of him, and to this, she raised a brow. “…Would you like something to, erm, help that?”
“That would be appreciated, yes. If you have some sort of cloth? Tissue?” Ivan smiled sheepishly, looking almost embarrassed. While he could tell she had been studying him he did have to applaud her attempts at appearing unfazed. For the most part, she had recovered extremely quickly which was surprising given his initial impression. She hadn’t seemed like the acting type, but then again, when did these Consono agents ever appear to be what they really were?
She didn’t seem to be hostile. He could use conversation if she wasn’t busy. Perhaps, he could find out what the Consono were up to now. That would certainly make Seren happy.

He rolled his eye in annoyance. Great. He had been spotted trying to steal someone else’s treasure. Normally he would have attacked the ship with his crew and fought until it was safe enough for him to run and grab the treasure, but today he felt like being sneaky. He had sneaked onto the enemy ship and quietly searched around until he found a single treasure chest in a room. He thought he had gotten away with it, but just as he was about to carry it off, he had been spotted by someone.
Why wouldn’t he just have a peaceful day? He stood up and turned to the other. He smirked as he looked at the other, unfazed by his size, “and who’s going to make me?”
He growled. He didn’t want to leave the treasure behind, but how could he fire his guns then make off with the chest? He would have to hit the man’s shoulder. It wouldn’t kill him, but it would slow him down, allowing a few moments of escape time. Unless he was wearing armor underneath that huge overcoat, which might explain why it seemed to bulge out, but for all he knew this pirate was some fat oaf, which would increase his chances of escaping.
He heaved a sigh before putting the chest down, “fine. I’ll put this down.” While he was squatted he reach into his pistol holders and pulled out his two guns.
Well, wasn’t he in for a surprise? While Ivan did tend to overdress he was most definitely not some blundering imbecile with no regards to what he ate or when he exercised. He wasn’t a small guy; that much was for sure, but this? This was all muscle. The moment the other pirate moved to set down the chest, Ivan started towards him, axe unsheathed as he made his way over.
By the time Arthur had pulled out his guns, he was nearly chest to chest with him, axe held at ready and smile still spread across his face, “And why do you think you’re taking out those pretty, little guns of yours?”
"Careful there, sir. That isn't exactly safe."

“A fascinating way to mine,” Ivan noted, sounding neither amused nor angry, just kinda curious.
“Yeah! This is how I always do it! It’s easier to get to the valuable ore this way.” He recommences his firing at the astroid. “Wanna try?”
“I am fine, thank you,” Ivan shook his head in response, simply content to watch the other perform his ‘mining’, “You’ve never accidentally hit someone? From such a close range it seems like you might.”
I’m good at shooting so that never happens! [He keeps going until a chunk of shiny ore dislodged from the astroid]
Ooooh! [He flies over and an arm extends from his ship to pick it up]
[kinda just blinks then laughs softly] [always nice to see people enjoying their lives] You do this often?
"This is not yours. Get out."

Ivan stepped forward, hand on the weapon by his side. That wasn’t exactly treasure the other was holding, but still, the contents were priceless. It was clear the man thought the chest would hold something of use for him thought it most definitely didn’t. Jaw set he jerked his head towards the door.
“Get out. I have no time for games,” Free hand extended towards the chest he pointed towards it then back to the place it’d been, “Set the chest down. Be glad I let you leave with your life.”
He rolled his good eye, “you think you can scare me? I am Arthur Kirkland, the feared pirate in the whole sky!” Or so he called himself, but that didn’t make it any less true! “If you think you can strike me down, then you’ve cleared drunk too much sea water,” he scoffed. Why couldn’t people let him be when he was stealing their things? He was doing it for the greater good!
“I’m not leaving without this treasure, and nothing you can say will change my mind.”
"Maybe nothing I can say, but I have learned that a good hit can say more than words ever could," Ivan's serious expression morphed into an innocent smile as he fingered the handle of his axe, "What do you say? If you leave now and leave the chest you won't have to meet your end? It is a fair trade, yes?"
