CAN I JUST SAY: THE “YOU’RE SO PRETTY” TREND!!!

(Context: the caption says “you’re so pretty”, and the person takes off their makeup, does their hair up, gets rid of their fancy clothes and jewellery and removes any filters with the final being “social media is fake”)

This trend makes me cry in a good way. I wish everybody would do this trend to show that SOCIAL MEDIA IS TRULY FAKE. You can cake makeup and look as societally expected as you can, but underneath, the real beauty is being human. The stretch marks on your skin like lightning in the sky, the bumps and dents in your skin resembling the patterns on animals or the soft earth beneath your feet, the rolls of your skin like the rolling waves of the ocean, your fingerprints like the patterns in bark, the scars on your skin like the many lines on the earth you find in any rock, and the wrinkles all over like rings in a tree showing not just how much you’ve aged, but how you’ve grown because of all this time. You’re not too fat or too skinny, not too old or too young.

You don’t NEED makeup. You don’t NEED to dress up all the time. You don’t NEED filters. But if it makes you feel good, do you.

Just remember: the most beautiful thing you can be… Is you.
