Being a trans woman means you arent allowed access to womanhood or the supposed good/positive masculinity often claimed by trans masc folks. This idealized and positive masculinity is one that is supposedly above all negative traits of masculinity and the patriarchy in society that influences it. Trans fems are conversely allowed only access to the negative aspects of masculinity as inherited from patriarchy. We are referred to as being male socialized whenever we do something negative. We are overshadowed in discussions about womanhood and our claims to it are seen as dubious at worst and partial at best. Trans fems are allowed neither womanhood or the idealized manhood that trans mascs are. Instead we are seen as men in disguise waiting to enact our underlying patriarchal socialization. While trans mascs are seen as forging a new masculinity/manhood. One that is both divorced from the patriarchal expressions of masculinity in our society and one that is inherently linked to an experience of "womanhood" and its associated oppressions.

Queer unity has been trying as hard as possible to downplay any possible transfem issue. Pay gap adding up to thousands a year? Not a big deal. V coding? Never mention it. Trans women are much more likely to be sent to an early grave than their male counterparts? Stop bringing that up. Trans people collaborating with kiwifarms? Just internet drama.

You know what IS an important issue? Getting called a fucking birthday boy. They get all hands on deck about it. They will write VERY long posts about how important it is you not use it, and that anyone who does must be punished as severely as possible

There's only one explanation. The lives of trans women are so worthless to them, so fucking disposable, that a trans man getting invalidated is actually more important to them. That's how these people, who demand we view them as family and allies, who think we should be ready to die for them, view us.

I know people who treat house flies with more respect than that.

why are you trying to play a game of who is more oppressed. trans men and trans women are all part of the same umbrella group of being transgender. we are all fighting the same overall fight. fighting with each other is not the answer.

this is not a game.

For my sisters and I, this is our lives.

When you say "its all the same", what you're doing is taking the person with the most obstacles and saying "this person is in the same position as the person with the least obstacles".

Then, obstacles are managed for the most privileged, everyone sees the win, stops fighting for more, and the rest of us get left behind.

A woman will tell trans men to shut up on here and there will be 100s of comments telling her to kill herself. As if being told to shut up is tantamount to literal systemic oppression that warrants that response. Trans fems already have our high suicide rate blasted in the media and posted by hateful folks as a reminder that its only a matter of time til we off ourselves and as proof of our mental illness. Its not surprising many of these comments also call the posters crazy too. Im so tired. Take your hateful asses somewhere else and stop trying to kill my community.

isn't it just *great* how existing as a transfem in the wider queer community means constantly having to walk a tightrope between being oversexualized and being seen as completely sexless?

you're expected to endure any and all unwanted advances, creepy and uncomfortable comments and must never show discomfort with any of it, lest you make the queers who actually matter feel irritated or god forbid, "guilty* for objectifying you. just bear and grin, you should be happy anyone wants to fuck you.

simmultaneously, any intimacy, flirting or expression of desire you initiate is immediately suspicious, insidious and dangerous. you've just violated an unspoken rule. you're not supposed to *want*, you don't have a right to *desire*. you should be quiet and content that you are tolerated, assume that you aren't desired or desirable and be astonished and flattered when someone makes a crass comment about wanting to fuck you. assume any advances from your side are unwanted by others.

the dolls are always supposed to be available for play, they're not supposed to object to play, and they must *never* be its initiators. a doll that dictates the conditions of its play is defective, broken and needs to be thrown out.

isn't it *great* to be a doll? look how niceley they're treating you. not everyone's that lucky. look at the battered and broken remains of the trannies that didn't want to be dolls and remember how lucky you are. and always remember, there is never a shortage of trannies who would *love* to be a doll, but there is *always* limited space in the dollhouse.

this site is really transmisogynistic and the amount of harassment and vitrol ive seen slung at trans women in particular is horrifying. the fact that so many respond with kill yourself to trans fems while we face a suicide epidemic is really gross. conflating a trans women disagreeing on the specifities of her oppression compared to yours does not equal actual oppression that warrants telling someone to kill themselves. especially someone of a marginalized gender. actually read what some of you all are saying in these comments.

i think the thing that really stuck with me about this is the way that it frames trans women as cops for having specific words with specific definitions that have arisen out of material analysis rather than what something "feels like." just pure vibes-based reactionary nonsense from the tmras, as per usual. neologisms are a tool of last resort for serious political theorists!

AND ONE MORE THING @ the ppl in ur comments and once again this is from personal experience so maybe you wont listen to it! But lgbt support groups irl are overwhelmingly full of nontransitioning nonbinary people and transmascs, again many of whom actively discourage transitioning, and half the time when transphobes think of trans ppl they think of the caricatures of trans women (Bad to them) or they think of the feminine nonbinary young adult baristas with colored hair (Cringe but tolerable to them) like people fucking hate trans women when people think of transmasc and nonbinary people they think of the feminine nontransitioning ones like AUUUGH
