“Thomas Szasz, the renowned psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, says that there’s no such thing as insanity. Revenge, on the other hand is very real”

Caydem James to Green Arrow [Episode 6x07]
Victor Zsasz was actually a famous Hungarian-American Psychiatrist. His name inspired Alan Grant, a DC Comics writer to name one of Batman’s recurring adversaries: Victor Szasz.
In the comics, Victor Szasz is a sadistic serial killer who carves a tally mark onto himself for each of his victims. He believes that human beings are mindless ‘robots’ who attempt to give themselves purpose and meaning by materialistic and shallow means. He is very intelligent and deceptively cunning, often trying to manipulate or intimidate his victims before killing them and arranging them in lifelike poses for the police and Batman to find.
