Important: Please don't use any of my account posts to spread hate or misinformation. If you don't agree with an opinion I have that is alright. Just don't be a bitch about it. We advocate for peace and equality here. So maga you are straight up not welcome and I am not being kind when I tell you to fuck off.
I find it kind of funny how this new series is supposed to follow Gigi, Lyra, and Rohan yet somehow Jameson is the one that ends up with a gold card 😒
The kind of greed they talk about in the Bible, damn rich people- 🙄
Actual Rant Below: Read at your own risk. I don't want hate for an opinion.
On an actual more serious note though. It's not that funny, it's honestly kind of sad. And I know it's such a small thing to be complaining about, the book isn't even out yet, why am I complaining, she could release gold cards for them later.
I am saying all this with the idea in mind that she won't be giving gold cards to Lyra, Rohan, and Gigi.
Idgaf that I sound like an ungrateful brat for what I'm about to say. I know I do. I know I should be greatful that we're getting cards to begin with and that jlb is doing this for us even though she's not required to. I am happy she does this kind of thing for us. I honestly am. But I'm allowed to be disappointed that the 3 main characters who I genuinely love so so much aren't getting the attention they should be.
Giving Jameson a gold card and not giving the Lyra, Rohan, and Gigi gold cards would genuinely be crazy work. I don't care what your feelings are towards Jameson or the main characters. There is one thing that remains a fact no matter what side of the argument you're on, and it is that the main characters of this new series are Lyra, Gigi, and Rohan.
Idgaf if Jameson's first card is ugly (which tbh it was fine in my opinion but whatever. I lowkey liked it more than this one. I never really understood the hate towards the first one.)
If jlb doesn't end up releasing cards for the 3 characters this series actually follows I'm gonna crash out. Giving Jameson a gold card only makes sense if you give the other 3 POV holding characters a gold card as well. Thats the only justifiable reason to give him a new card.
Istg giving Maxine, Rebecca, Zara, etc. cards even when they don't show up in this book would've made more sense then giving Jameson a new card. This is the final book of the series, releasing cards for the remaining characters in this universe makes sense.
Genuinely istg if I see a gold card for Avery, Nash, Xander, Grayson, etc. AND NOT ONE FOR THE THREE MAIN CHARACTERS OF THIS BOOK I'm gonna crash out.
Yes I'm including Grayson in this list. I don't care that hes technically a main character by extension of Lyra. This isn't his series, him getting a gold card while Gigi, Rohan, and Lyra don't would also be insane.
I’m spam posting bc today is literally my only free hour before I have to go back to trying to graduate while I wonder if it’s all worth it.
I’ve recently begun watching criminal minds, and I was thinking about the tig show. I thought of two things:
1) How funny would it be if we got a filler episode where it’s just one of the Hawthorne brothers taking a side quest and accidentally becoming apart of the fbi. Or someone thinking Jameson committed a crime, and while Jameson committed a crime he didn’t create THAT crime. So he helps them find out who really did it to prove his innocence.
2) The more important of the two, I need Max and Xander to just be super flirty with each other before they get together. Like they both cover up their nervousness around one another through Garcia & Morgan kinda flirting. Like you know how funny it would be if Avery were to walk in a room with Max and they just start dirty talking to each other then are like “we’re just friends.” I’m CRAVING Xanmax development. CRAVING.
As a former gacha kid, anytime I see something about Grayson referring to himself as “broken” I cant help but laugh. I’m sorry, it’s a reflex, I literally can NOT take that word seriously anymore when used in that context 😭😭😭
Honestly I have mixed feelings about Jameson getting a pov. At this point all I can do is just appreciate the fact that the chances of it being Libby or Toby that says “shes my Avery, too” are a lot higher. Like the chances of the og cast (NOT GRAYSON) talking to Jameson and saying that is a lot higher now that we know we have his pov.
Now I just pray jlb isn’t messy and it still ends up being Grayson-
Like I might actually jump off a cliff while wishing this blonde boy never gets laid Sabrina Carpenter style I’m not even kidding.
no because everyone on insta is saying its grayson im on the verge of tears for lyra i cant im making a bomb i need to go play with my lyrason miis and log off again to calm down because
au where merlin panics during the magic reveal and just starts gaslighting arthur. he just builds a fire with magic and arthur freaks out, gasping that he is a sorcerer, and merlin is like ‘?? yeah arthur i told you like a week into my stay in camelot? i don’t know why you are reacting this way.’
and arthur is losing his mind and merlin is just doubling down like arthur you’ve KNOWN for YEARS why would you let me go on quests without armor otherwise??
Tw: Roofies, Near Drugging, Self-sacrafical Behavior, Mentions of SA, Near SA experience, Alcohol, and Cursing (It's still mainly fluff tho tbh)
Synopsis: Day off or not, when someone tries to touch Alisa’s heiress she does what she does best and protects her. Luckily when her self sacrificial behavior gets her into a bit of trouble, Libby is there to save the day. Not so luckily, when her self sacrificial behavior gets her into a bit of trouble, Libby is there to save the day. (Libby and Alisa Friendship Fic because if they locked in even a little bit they could've at least been an iconic duo. )
──────────────────────────────
Alisa merely stared at herself in the mirror. She was standing in a bathroom all dressed up at a gala she didn’t want to be at. She had to verbally drag Avery into hosting it, and the girl had somehow found a way to use it against her.
A simple floor length black dress that hugged her nicely. Black shiny pumps with familiar red bottoms that alluded to wealth. Dark make up. Red lipstick. She really did look and feel powerful.
Well either that or she was an incredibly elegant escort.
Tonight, Alisa wasn't here as Avery's lawyer that functioned more as a fixer/manager. Much to her dismay, tonight, she was a guest. Which meant she has to do guest things rather than ‘aid to the hostess’ things.
Libby opened the door to the bathroom, walking in, "Huh. And here Avery was worried you might've climbed through a window and run away to go back to work.”
"There's no window."
Libby took a minute to scan the bathroom, realizing the observation Alisa had made when she herself had initially walked in here, proved to be correct, "How unlucky."
Alisa turned to her, snorting, "Don't tell me you were hoping to run away too."
"This is hell on earth. What do you expect?"
Alisa was raised with these kinds of events and she still felt some disdain for them deep down. Let alone Libby who wasn't, and already felt a deep hatred for them. She figured the woman had probably begun running off from events like these once she got a feel for Avery being okay.
"You wanna escape this hell together, Ms. Lawyer?"
"You are one of the few people who think my entire life isn't my work."
"Know. I know it isnt."
Libby did know it wasn't. Because Libby got especially more nosey nearing the end of her pregnancy. With her odd curiosity came an unmistakable amount of boredom that had her asking everyone in Hawthorne House about her sister's lawyer.
Alisa couldn’t figure out what brought about that curiosity. She found herself regretting the day she argued for Libby and Nash to stay at the house until after the babies were born for safety reasons. They could have already found a family home and Libby wouldn’t have dug her nose into her life. Perhaps that was Libby's way of getting back at her for using Avery against the two of them in order to get them to stay put. Libby wasn’t particularly stubborn before the pregnancy. Difficult at times, yes. But stubborn? No. During and after the pregnancy however, she found that Libby had grown tremendously in stubbornness.
Alisa sighed, looking at the woman for a moment before digging through her clutch grabbing out the exact shade of lip stick Libby was wearing, "Here. Reapply it."
Libby frowned, looking in the mirror as she opened the tube awkwardly, "It's that obvious?"
"I'd have to see Nash to be sure, but yes. Was two not enough for you?"
"Don't be gross. How'd you even get this anyways?"
"I make sure to be prepared for any makeup malfunctions... Especially after the incident regarding Lyra and Grayson awhile back."
Alisa thought she'd have to worry the most about Jameson being handsy. She completely forgot about his evil blonde twin who seemed just as determined to kick up a scandal with the press. At least she could appreciate that Xander at least attempted at not making her life incredibly more difficult than it needed to be.
"Does that mean you have makeup wipes in that tiny little thing?"
"Does Nash need them?"
Libby stayed awkwardly silent.
Of course he did.
﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
"You're disgusting."
Nash side eyed her as he swatted her hand away. He then took the wipe, wiping whatever was left of Libby's lipstick off his neck.
"That's not gonna fix whatever condition your neck is in."
"I don't suppose you have something for that?"
"No, I didn’t care to find any concealer for you because no one looks at you as hard as they look at your brothers. Thank god."
"I don't know whether to be insulted by that statement or not."
"Neither, consider it a blessing I didn't have to do any shade matching for you."
"Xander causing issues for you too?"
"You'd be surprised to find that Xander might be causing more issues for me as of late than both Jameson and Grayson combined. That being said, he’s far better than both of them at hiding it. Or rather he at least attempts to hide it, much more than I can say about the other two.”
"Now I highly doubt that."
"You willing to bet money on that doubt, Cowboy?"
"You know I stopped gambling with you a long time ago."
"Because you always lose?"
"No, because you always win."
Alisa tried not to smile. Her and Nash weren't close. At least not as close as they used to be. But in moments like these she remembered their time as friends before their time as lovers. Times like these made her long for his friendship once more sometimes.
"So whats going on between you and that Laundry guy?"
Nevermind. She hates him and they will never be friends.
"It's Landry. I’m beginning to realize you and Libby are perfect for each other. She's been making the exact same annoying mistake."
"At least I'm not calling him Knob."
"In Libby’s defense, I doubt she is doing it on purpose. Unlike certain people."
"You willing to make a bet, Lee-Lee?"
A stark contrast to just moments ago when she asked him to make once. Alisa didn’t deign him with a response. That was his wife after all, she knew better than to make bets she couldn’t win, "Wheres Avery?"
"What? So you can spend your entire night watching and taking care of her? She demanded that you relax and have fun. It's your night off. Enjoy it."
"She can’t force enjoyment into these events. Plus, you know taking care of that one makes it near impossible to relax."
"You mean taking care of that one and by extension Jameson."
Alisa tries hard not to cringe at the thought of Jameson.
She loves him. Really. She does. But where Grayson definitely got some of her when it came to her and Nash’s babysitting gig, Jameson got some of the much younger version of Nash.
And it wasn't the good parts.
"Everyday I wake up and pray they might get into an argument that breaks them up."
"No you don't." Nash snorted, "You love them together."
That Alisa did, not that she'd ever admit to it. Especially not in front of Jameson. That might just encourage him further.
﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
She did end up watching Avery like Nash said she would. Or rather, she watched Avery and everyone who had a history of being inappropriate with the girl.
This time, her eye was on Ethan Grant. Some charity case son who's tried getting to Avery 9 times now. She hasn't had to worry too much about him given Jameson tends to deal with the people who get too close.
That being said, he also hadnt been drunk during the past altercations. At least not drunk enough to try drugging her heiress.
Not until now.
Alisa watched as he dropped the powder into one of the champagne glasses in front of him before making his way to Avery. She looked at Avery expecting to see Jameson, but realized rather than at Avery's side— He was over by Xander and Grayson across the room.
Alisa recognized the situation almost immediately. And it wasn't happening on her watch. Day off or not.
She grabbed a nearby champagne glass making quick work of making her way to Avery.
"Ms. Grambs, it's nice to see you again."
Avery spun around, looking awkwardly at Ethan as she began looking for her escape out of yet another awkward conversation, "You too, Mr. Grant-"
"You must be thirsty, here have a drink."
Right as he held the drink out to Avery for her to grab, Alisa swooped in and grabbed it. Getting between the two to face Avery, giving the other glass to her rather than handing off the one from him. She then stood to the side of them like nothing happened. To him it looked like she gave Avery his drink, to Avery it looked like she merely gave her one of the champagne glasses in her hand. Mission nearly accomplished. Now she had to get rid of the thing in her hand.
Avery blinked in surprise, "Alisa-?"
"You haven't had too many of those right?" She couldn't let it look like she was coming here for no reason. Even if the culprit of the issue was beyond tipsy due to looking for whatever liquid courage he needed to drug the Avery Grambs.
"Of course not, this is only my second glass. I watch myself.” Avery smiled to herself in that genuine way she rarely saw from people of Avery’s status.
Avery didn’t really drink, but when she did she limited it to a glass or two, at most three. Alisa had noticed that look was something she tended to do whenever she did something different from Ricky Grambs. She got the same small smile she got whenever she gave gifts with thoughtful care behind it. Avery spoke very little of her biological father, but she'd told Alisa enough for her to decide a permanent restraining order needed to be in place.
Alisa merely smiled at her before looking at Ethan who looked far too out of it to realize what happened.
He smiled politely at Alisa, his speech slightly slurred, "Why not a toast to the wonderful heiress in front of us."
Alisa hummed, narrowing her eyes. It seemed he wasnt backing out.
She'd done this three or four times before. The only difference was that Oren had the night off, much like her. Unlike her, he chose to not to come to the event as a guest once he heard Alisa would be coming. In his place was one of the newer guards, and so they didnt know the signal she and Oren usually used for these situations.
Alisa sighed, not wanting to alert Avery there was a problem to begin with. She'd figure something out later. Right now, she merely drank some of her glass in toast.
She'd have to stay here for the time being until Jameson inevitably returned to Avery's side to make sure he didnt try anything else. She had 15-30 minutes. That should leave enough of a window for Jameson to make his way back over to her.
﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
Jameson came back at around the 10 minute mark. She felt a bit sluggish, and she tried her best not to stumble as she made her way to the door. She just had to get to another room then she’d call the head of security tonight for help.
Her head was killing her and she felt a pressure behind her eyes and in her throat as her vision blurred and her hands shook.
She flinched feeling an arm wrap around her waist from behind and someone's hot breath on the back of her neck. For once she was really hoping by some miracle that was Knox coming to her rescue.
"You'll do then."
That wasn’t Knox.
"You weren't as subtle leaving as you should've been."
Alisa weakly tried to push him off, but she only managed to fall and tumble forward.
"You have been an especial pain in my ass. I oughta remind you of what a woman like you's place really is."
He kissed her neck, before moving to lift her up. Alisa was about to try her hand at screaming for help even though her body didn't seem to want to comply when suddenly she felt the guy stumble off her. She heard a thump against the wall across from them.
Alisa slumped against the one closest to her, slowly moving her head to the side only to be greeted with the sight of a pink and red headed blob.
"A---a a-- you ok---" The blob sounded a little bit like Libby.
❽
Libby found herself slapping Alisa's cheek lightly only to realize she was completely out of it.
She frowned, before turning to glare at the guy, "The hell did you do to her?"
The guy shakily stood up, "A two for one deal?"
Libby cringed. Grabbing Alisa's clutch and throwing it at him, only for him to catch it and toss it to the side. Fuck.
"Lib... "
"You're gonna be alright Alisa. I know how to fight!"
She did not know how to fight. She held her fists up in a way she thought might be a fighting stance though. She wasn’t sure how out of it Alisa was, but she wanted to give her some hope.
Alisa shook her head, her voice weak and slurred. She just barely understood her, "Ru..."
Libby blinked, that was actually a smart idea, "Okay."
She grabbed Alisa by the arm, practically sprinting off. Flinging her heels off in the process before bending down to pick up one of them and fling it behind her at the head of the guy that quickly gave chase.
Libby began to realize this wasn't all that smart when the woman she was dragging could barely keep up, let alone run. The guy clearly had sobered up thanks to the hit in the head, and she wasn't all that good at running even on a good day. Now she's in a dress. The only thing helping her was adrenaline and she wasn't sure how long that'd last.
"Help!!!!!"
Sadly for the guy, they weren't in a horror movie.
Libby blinked seeing a decorative vase on the side and grabbed it, throwing it behind her into the guy's face.
She looked around, seeing an oh so familiar room she'd find herself in whenever she needed a break. Hauling the door open, dragging Alisa inside first before getting inside herself, slamming the door shut behind her and quickly locking it.
She let herself breath a sigh of relief despite the loud pounding on the door. She hoped he'd give up soon.
Libby however, quickly realized she didn't have her phone. Of course. Because she was the luckiest woman on the planet.
She only hoped he didn't know that. The guy was bound to give up once he realized the door was locked and she was likely calling security.
Libby immediately grabbed Alisa, helping her over to the couch in the room, setting her onto it, "Alisa?"
"Mm..."
"You are out of it..."
It didn't take much of a genius to figure out what happened.
"Theres no water in here, but don't worry. I'm gonna stay right here."
Libby sat on the couch next to Alisa, and watched as the woman gradually fell asleep against her. She sighed, she figured she'd let Alisa sleep it off.
"When you wake up, we'll take you to the hospital to figure out which one it was and any side effects it might have on your health. I'll also tell Avery to give you some more time off."
She doubted Alisa would agree to that as she moved the woman to lay across her lap.
She glanced at the door, watching it shake with the pounding on the door. She didn't like the memories that came to mind. A familiar scene in an all too different setting playing out in her mind.
She wasn't going to fall asleep. She'd done that once with Drake when she thought a simple door lock might help her out.
It didn't.
﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
Libby blinked awake hearing the next round of pounding on the door.
How long had she been out? She could've sworn the guy had given up when she passed out, the adrenaline rush finally running it's course.
"Libby! Alisa! Are either of you two in there?!"
Libby blinked fully out of her drowsyness at hearing the familiar voice. She cleared her throat realizing how dry it felt. Slowly moving Alisa off her and onto a couch pillow.
Standing up she opened the door just a smidge to see an extremely worried Grayson. She let out a sigh of relief before opening it entirely, "Grayson..." She wasn't going to cry. But God did she feel like it. She felt so undeniably happy to see him there.
Grayson looked at Libby before looking behind her to see Alisa on the couch. Letting out a breath of relief, "Thank God... Avery knew you might disappear off somewhere, but she didn't expect Alisa to. Or that neither of you would answer her calls. Everyone’s been looking for you two.”
"I left my purse with Nash and I threw Alisa's clutch at the guy." She wondered if Nash realized she left her purse with him and if he remembered to grab it when he began looking. She quite liked that purse.
"You threw her purse? What guy? Did something happen?" Grayson was right back to looking worried as his gaze fell on Alisa who was still knocked out.
"Alisa-" she didn't get to finish before Grayson was rushing past her, checking Alisa for any wounds as well as her pulse. "I got there just in the nic of time..." She trailed off as she walked over to the two.
Grayson barely looked at her as he choked on a thank you. She couldn't see his face, but she could tell from the visible shaking of his hands and shoulders exactly how he felt right now.
Grayson turned to her, "We need to get her some help. We're not supposed to let her just sleep it off." She wondered a tiny bit how he figured out what happened so fast.
Libby blinked, cringing, "Oh-"
Grayson shook his head, "It's fine... You- You did good."
Libby nodded, "You have your phone?"
Grayson took his phone from his pocket, handing it to her, "We'll need take her through the back exit to not alert anyone. Do you know who did it?"
Libby frowned to herself, "No... I don't usually pay attention to that kind of thing."
Grayson nodded, "Call Nash and tell him what happened. He can drive you... Ill handle finding out who did it." He was still shaking.
"Grayson are you sure you-"
"I'm fine Lib... Just. Take care of her right now. She's top priority. Make sure to lock the door. We don't need whoever did it coming back and hurting either of you.”
Grayson left the room, shutting the door behind him. She sighed, walking over and locking it once more.
She looked at the time, realizing only 2 hours had passed. It oddly felt like an eternity, she had to swallow the bile in her throat and keep from throwing up.
Whatever leftover adrenaline she had, had definitely worn off with Grayson's arrival. The reality of the situation she'd found Alisa in, as well as the situation she nearly got herself in finally came crashing down on her all at once.
﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
Calling Nash about something happening oddly enough meant calling Jameson, Xander, and of course, Avery. Which by extension Max, who came dragging Lyra along with her.
She hadn't expected to see the whole entire circus the moment she opened the room door, but there it was.
"People will notice the hostess and her boyfriend are gone." She felt like Alisa saying that.
Avery shook her head, "Who cares about that. How is she? What happened? Is she dead?"
Xander didn't even bother with pleasantries, rushing right on past her much like Grayson and immediately checking Alisa's pulse.
Jameson followed quickly behind him, "Is she breathing?"
Libby nodded, "She's breathing. And very much not dead."
Both boys visibly relaxed. As if hearing her confirmation helped ease their mind more than checking if she was breathing did.
"You know, I'm not a genius. But I believe you were supposed to be taking her to the hospital, not letting her lay there." Lyra frowned.
Jameson turned to glare at Lyra as Xander nodded, picking Alisa up.
Nash looked down at Libby's feet, "Where are your shoes?"
"I threw it at the guy."
"Wait you came face to face with that asshole?" Avery glared, "Where is he? Did he do anything to either of you- Well you. Clearly he did something to Alisa."
Libby shook her head, "I'm fine. Though I think I'd definitely benefit from learning to fight. Now let's hurry up and go."
Jameson nodded before pausing, "Wait! I'm gonna stay here with Grayson. I'm assuming he's figuring out who did it."
Avery blinked, before humming absently, "Get a hit in for me."
"We're not the mafia, Ave." Nash frowned,
Xander looked at Jameson, "That being said, me too."
Jameson huffed, "Do it yourself. I need to figure out just what security was doing when this happened." Jameson walked past them, walking off down a separate hallway.
Lyra looked at Max, "Lets stay here. The car is already bound to be crowded."
"It's spacious."
"Max. The less of us panicking in one space the better."
Max slowly nodded, looking at Alisa frowning before looking at Avery, "We'll handle the rest of your hostess duties."
Avery smiled gratefully, “Thank you.”
﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
10 Hours Later...
Libby hadn't left Alisa's side once. Not that she didnt trust doctors to not take advantage of her.
Okay maybe she didn't a little bit. She felt insane. An odd protectiveness had washed over her ever since it happened. She was treating her as if she was something fragile. Which was odd because the last time Libby was in a hospital with Alisa, she was vowing to kill the woman.
She found herself second guessing and questioning everyone around them. She went as far as to demand a female nurse and doctor which was insanely out of character. And a nurse had asked Avery and Nash multiple times if she needed to be taken for examination as well.
Apparently being there had messed with her too, even if she wasnt directly targeted.
She wasn't going to leave Alisa's side. She couldn't bring herself to. She felt sick whenever the thought crossed her mind.
Plus, Alisa had been the one to teach her the hard way that leaving for even a second could mean someone can sneak in and grab someone out from under you without you knowing. While she doubted anyone was out here trying to do that, she wasn’t taking any chances.
Xander also hadn't left her side. He looked worse than her and Alisa. He hadn't let go of Alisa's hand once. His eyes had barely left the machine showing her vitals aside from when he fell asleep.
Because unlike Libby, Xander had been able to sleep.
Just then, Nash and Avery walked into the room. The former had been in and out of the hospital, meanwhile Avery had stayed the entire time. She couldn't stay in one place though and took to worriedly walking around.
After hearing what happened, Oren had immediately come to the hospital to go back to acting as Avery's main security guard.
Avery walked over to Libby, sitting down into the chair beside her, "She's here because of me... "
Libby barely heard her, "Hm?"
"He'd been trying to drug me."
Libby blinked, immediately hugging Avery. She felt her heart start to race and panic immediately seize her. It could've been her Avery. Her sister. Her little sister, her little almost got-“Oh Ave... This isn't your fault."
Libby tried to focus on Avery in order to keep herself from spiraling.
"It's a little my fault."
"It's not your fault unless you put that in the drink. Did you put it in the drink?"
"No but-"
"No buts. Youre not helping Alisa by blaming yourself. And if anyone is a "little" at fault here, it's the victim who intentionally chose to drink it." Nash playfully side eyed the sleeping figure on the bed.
"Nash." Libby's voice came out slightly scolding even though she knew he wasn't serious. She blinked feeling the bed shift a bit, her gaze snapping over to Alisa who opened her eyes a bit before immediately closing them, letting out a low hum.
"Alisa?"
Alisa's eyes remained squeezed shut, but she weakly pulled herself up a bit stretching before forcing her eyes open against the bright light.
Xander was about to throw himself at her, but she only raised her hand to stop him her voice coming out low and hoarse, "I guess I have to do a piss test?"
"No, we got one outta you when I woke you up last night." Nash shook his head.
She nodded absentmindedly, wobblly getting out any needles and other equipment attached to her.
"You’re not supposed to do that." Libby frowned.
"I don't give a fuck." Alisa didn’t curse. That told them everything they needed to know. She was rightfully irritated.
She got up, sliding out of bed as she wobbly made her way to the bathroom. Libby debated calling for a nurse, but Nash stopped her.
He shook his head, “Not yet, let’s wait till she gets back.”
"She's acting way too okay for someone who nearly got assaulted." Avery looked ready to kill.
"Perhaps she's trying to cover things up. You know... Pretending to be strong and stuff?" Libby awkwardly suggested.
Nash frowned, "No. I remember stuff like this used to happen sometimes when we were engaged. It's sad, but it comes with the territory."
Libby frowned, "I see..." That wasn't fair. She didnt deserve that. Avery didn’t deserve that. No one did really.
Libby looked at Avery wondering how many times it could've happened. She thought she was going to be sick as the realization that she didn't know anything at all when it came to her sister's safety struck her. The realization that it could’ve happened to her before followed. Then the realization that this could happen to her daughters in the future. And a part of her wondered if attempts were more likely to happen to all of them because they were celebrities. She had to ask Oren.
Libby was definitely going to be sick depending on the answer. Alisa was lucky in that she showed up, but even then that could’ve gone incredibly wrong.
Alisa walked out wiping her face with a towel, "Well. When do I go home."
"Not any time soon." Avery deadpanned.
"I have things to do-"
Libby glared, her voice sharp, "Alisa Ortega! If your ass tries to leave this hospital, so help me God! You are so lucky I didn’t call Knob Laundry-!”
She heard a snort to the side of her, and she turned to glare at Nash.
"Knox. It's Knox Landry." Alisa sighed, "And you and Avery really are related. You both make the same exact face when you’re mad."
"I always get his name wrong..."
Avery side eyed Libby, "On accident?"
"Of course, I would never call someone by anything other than their name. Thats rude."
"So you thought Knob Laundry was for the aesthetic?"
"His parents could be hippies. Why do you think Im named Libby? I’m not about to begin judging names.”
Alisa glared, "If only the two sisters could argue elsewhere. Xander you look awful, why are you here? Go home and take a shower."
Xander merely looked at Alisa before standing up and hugging her tightly, "I thought something horrible might have happened to you."
"I got drugged?"
"You know what I mean."
She couldn't see Alisa's face, but judging by the way her arms slowly wrapped around Xander, she did in fact know what he meant.
"I'm fine.... I'm right here... You can go back to taking care of yourself." Alisa's voice was soft and gentle. She rarely heard that voice from her. It was in times when she was especially gentle with Grayson, Jameson, or Xander, Libby realized the extent of how deep her relation to this family really was.
Libby hummed, Nash's first love was a headstrong Latina. And Grayson was currently dating a headstrong Latina. Perhaps it's connected? She felt a little bit like laughing at that. It was the first time she actually felt like laughing at all since 10 hours ago.
"Hey Nash.... I think your brother takes after you some."
Nash turned to look at her weirdly, "Xander?"
"No... Grayson."
People seemed to be under the impression Grayson was more like Alisa, and Jameson and Xander were more like Nash.
Libby would beg to differ. At least in regards to Grayson and Jameson. Grayson might have a bit of both, but if anything Jameson is all Alisa.
On the outside it certainly looked as people thought. Alisa was meticulously and organized. She was a workaholic and she tried her best to keep her emotions in check.
But she was the same woman that had helped Avery set up giving her money to charity, kidnapped Avery from a hospital, and now drank a glass of drugged champagne to save Avery.
Libby knew that last one was more Grayson. She also knew Jameson's reckless stemmed from way more than being babysat by either/or. Same could be said about how meticulous Grayson was.
However, the thought that Jameson was more like Nash was honestly a hilarious thought to her.
"Libby?"
"Hm?" she looked at Nash.
"You ready to leave her yet?"
Libby looked at Alisa who was now being helped back into bed by Xander, "No... Not yet."
"Alright." Nash kissed the side of her forehead.
It was moments like these she was especially greatful for Nash. He understood her and her emotions better than anyone. He let her feel to her hearts content, and he supported her through every emotion.
"Alisa is a lot like Jameson, don't you think."
Alisa immediately snapped her head to glare at Libby, "Don't."
Nash snorted, leaning down to whisper in her ear, "Perhaps this is a conversation for when we're not in front of Tyrant Lee-Lee."
Libby turned to face him, grinning as she pecked his lips, "You're an awful whisperer." Libby turned to Alisa, "And he called you a Tyrant."
Alisa's eye twitched, "Get out."
"Really? After all we've been through together?" Nash faux pouted.
"You're flirting with your wife in front of your ex fiancée that has to be disrespectful in some country."
"Lee-Lee Kingdom?"
"Nashville Hawthorne."
"That wasn't funny when we were 6, it's still not funny now."
Libby blinked, "You're full name is Nashville?”
Nash turned to her in exasperation, "Libby, we're married. You'd know if my full name was Nashville."
Libby shrugged, "I was just checking."
"Wait why would she call Knox?" Xander looked at Alisa weirdly, as if he finally realized and processed what Libby had said earlier.
"No." Alisa said blankly.
Libby was sure had it been Grayson or Jameson they would've continued pushing, but Xander merely accepted what Alisa said in a stride. He began chatting her ear off about whatever seemed to come to mind and about Max.
He was trying to distract her. She knew that, because he'd done something similar for everyone in this room at least once.
A good distraction was probably what Xander was best at providing.
And what Alisa most likely needed right now was a good distraction.
The nurse came in like a hurricane, glaring at Alisa, “Alisa Ortega! Did you mess with your vitals machi- Did you take off your IV?!”
Nash turned to the nurse, grinning, “Tiana! Nice to see you. When did you come back from Dubai?”
The woman kept her glare trained on Alisa, “Shut it Hawthorne.”

2 Days Later...
Alisa was surprised that Libby was the first one to find her.
“Why-?”
Libby pushed her off the porch swing causing her to stumble a little bit to get her footing and stay upright.
“Hey!”
“What exactly do you have against hospitals?”
Alisa straightened, “Those boys are overbearing.”
“You nearly got assulted.”
Alisa winced at the word, “Yes… But I didn’t thanks to you.”
Libby moved to sit on the swings, and for a moment a petty part of Alisa wanted to throw her off the swing back. Alisa, however, was above that. She wasn’t as impulsive as people seemed to believe she was at the moment.
“ Are you okay?” Libby said suddenly.
“Of course… I merely escaped from a hospital."
"Thats not what I'm asking."
Alisa paused, staring at Libby for a moment before shaking her head, "I did what I had to in order to protect Avery.”
“Yes, but that doesn’t mean you’re okay. Moreover, it is something that should have been handled by security.”
“You and I both know I hardly trust the security here.”
Alisa had been kidnapped 3 times under this security. Once when she was little, her mother had taken both her and Nash out for a picnic and they napped the wrong child. The next was when she was engaged to Nash. And the most recent time was by Vincent Blake.
Alisa had a great relationship with Oren. And aside from his inappropriate relationship with Zara Hawthorne, he was professional for the most part. They had their disagreements on how to handle Avery’s saftey, but at the end of the day she could trust him. At the end of the day the both wanted Avery safe.
That wasn’t something she could say about all the security at Hawthorne House. They’ve proved that they should be treated with some suspicion throughout the years she's been by Avery's side and even before that.
So Alisa didn’t trust the security to protect Avery. When she was around that was her duty. Her job. Her heiress.
Libby didn’t respond, her silence voiced all the disagreements that she probably wished to say. Instead she merely grabbed Alisa’s hand pulling her onto the oddly placed porch swing to sit beside her, “Grayson was shaking when he saw you like that.”
Alisa flinched, not expecting that approach, “Don’t do that…”
“I’m not saying they would’ve preferred Avery in your position. That’s not true. I am however saying they didn’t want you in that position. Even Avery. Esspecially Avery. Everyone in that house loves you so so dearly Alisa. They wouldn’t want that happening to you. Even if they were safer because of it.”
“Everyone is a bit of a stretch.”
“Everyone.” Libby looked at her with so much determination and confident honesty when she said that, that she was slightly taken aback. She said that like what she was saying was some sort of fact.
“… You know. When you get that look it kinda feels like a kiss is coming.”
Libby blinked before bursting out laughing, grinning at Alisa, “You and Nash were the similarities attract kind of couple huh?”
“How funny.”
Libby and Nash were the exact opposite. A cowboy and a goth-girl. It made all the sense in the world and no sense all at once. Really all it managed to teach Alisa was that anything was possible when it came to love. Even if she was sure Nash and Libby’s odd dynamic wasn’t the first or only of its kind.
She’s reached the acceptance stage when it came to their relationship. Well acceptance and confusion. She wasn't sure how she felt about either of them as individuals or as a couple.
“You know, in another life, you and me would have made a smashing opposites attract couple.” Libby said randomly.
“You’d have to be slightly more tolerable for that.”
“You nearly married Nash.”
“There’s a reason why’s it’s nearly.”
“You werent the one who broke it off."
“Nash lied to make himself look better." She hadn't been the one to break it off. Her pride sure wished she was though.
Libby hummed, “He said the same thing you know. When you’re esspecially bossy you’re extremely kissable.”
Alisa felt a chill down her spine and a pang of disgust at where this conversation was heading. Why would Nash say that to his wife, “Nash?”
“What? No. Knob.”
“Knox- Wait Knox? We weren’t talking about Kno- Is that how you found me?”
Libby quieted for a moment before humming, “I find it cute you two have eachother on Life360.”
“We’re not together. It’s for work purposes.”
“And?”
“And that’s it.”
“If that was all it was he wouldn’t have booked a flight to Texas the moment he heard about what happened.”
“He booked a what? We aren’t together, " Her voice came out more strained than she wanted.
“That doesn’t mean you don’t love each other.”
“I-“
“You can’t even say it.”
“You interuppted me before I could. I don’t like him.”
“Yes, but do you not love him?”
“That is such an odd question to ask.”
“Love and hate are capable of coexisting. And you are incapable of hating. Since it’s a dislike that means love is even more likely.”
Alisa sighed, staring out at the garden, “Don’t tell the boys… Or Avery.”
“Nash knows.”
“He’s not who I’m talking about.”
No matter how old they turned she’d always see them as the idiotic kids she used to begrudgingly babysit.
“They’re gonna beat his ass.”
“He’s not gonna let them.”
“Yeah, but I wouldn’t put a 3 against 1 against them. They play dirty and they’re proud of it.”
“When did you figure it out.”
“I found out from an edit.”
“What?”
"Nothing! Though I will suggest you wear leather jackets more often. You look hot in them.”
A memory flashed in her mind. A bar, a fight, a leather jacket, and a kiss.
“I can’t tell whether you are saying that as a friend or whether you’re inappropriately flirting with me.”
Libby turned to her in suprise, a grin slowly spreading across her face, “We’re friends?”
Alisa blinked, “Absolutely not-“
“You can’t take it back! You absolutely can’t take it back! We’re friends!!!”
Libby excitedly threw her arms around Alisa huggly her tightly, causing the weight distrubtuion on the swing to go off balance and for them both to go tumbling onto the porch.
“You’re awful.”
Libby grinned, “All I had to do is save your life.”
“Stupidly. You could’ve gone and got help.”
“I wasn’t gonna leave you there. Plus I’m pretty sure we’re taught not to leave someone alone with their assulter in order to get help. Though even if that wasn’t the case I wasn’t gonna leave you.”
“You could’ve gotten hurt. You’re a mother. You can't go getting injured."
Libby paused, humming, “Good point. But I don’t regret it. And it’s not like we can go back in time and change what happened. We can only learn from it. Next time something like that happens, you come to me. And I will handle and take care of you if you have to drink it.”
“Most people would be telling me to never to drink it again.”
“It wouldn’t stop you if it was to protect Avery or maybe even Jameson. So we’re setting up a plan.”
“I have one with Oren.”
Libby paused for a moment, before a look of understanding came to her face. She grabbed Alisa's hand, squeezing it for support.
Alisa glanced at Libby, “People sadly try to drug your sister a lot. Esspecially the older ones. She’s young, rich, beauitful, well loved- powerful.”
Libby sighed, her face scrunched up in a mental dilemma, “I’m starting to regret telling her to take the money.”
Alisa opted for changing the subject, "You wouldn’t have Nash if that happened.”
“Nah… Me and Nash would find each other. That’s just how true love works.”
Libby didn't know just how true Alisa thought her statement to be, “He totally would have traveled to New Castle, Connecticut for the hell of it.”
Libby snorted, “He honestly probably would’ve preferred that our love story took place there.”
“He would’ve definetly lied about his true identity.”
“Now this sounds like the makings of some awful hallmark rom-com.”
“It’d be hallmark if he was still enaged to me. It’s just a rom-com because Grayson goes to retreive Avery for the inhertance and he goes to the meeting in your place as her legal gaurdian.”
Libby burst out laughing, “That’d be downright awful.”
“It’d be hilarious though.”
Libby held her hand out for a mock handshake, “Hi I’m~ Josh Kingston…? Avery’s half-sister’s future husband, you are?”
Alisa looked at Libby putting on her best Grayson impression, shaking her hand, “Grayson Hawthorne.”
They both burst out laughing.
They talked and laughed and cried until they were eventually found by Nash. And they continued to talk. Apparently Knox made his life more difficult than he made his wife’s in order to get the information that would reveal her location.
Perhaps she did know how she felt about the two as individuals if not as a couple.

5 Months Later...
"No no no no no no no, thats not how you do it."
"Libby I didn't want to do this anyways."
"Yes but best friends do activities together, you may not know this because you're lonely."
"I have friends. You know that because you're slowly stealing them."
"Ah ah ah, best friends share friends."
"I never once said we’re best friends."
"Well why do you get to be the only one to put a label on our relationship? I want to put a label on it, and I say we're best friends."
"Libby I would rather be doing anything else right now."
"You look amazing!"
Avery walked into the room, and causing them both to look up from the large amount of cupcakes spread across the kitchen counter.
"Avery!" Libby grinned, rounding the table to hug her dear sister.
"What are you two doing..."
Libby looked at Alisa smirking at the ugliest fucking apron Libby had ever seen, "I'm making Alisa bake with me."
"We're supposed to be having a meeting."
Alisa blinked, turning to Libby with an accusatory look, "You told me that was cancelled."
Libby shifted awkwardly, "Damn. I honestly didn't expect to get caught the very first time I did it."
Avery sighed, looking between the two woman, "Anyways, Alisa, Knob is looking for you."
Libby snickered, as Avery elbowed her playfully.
"Knox. And he's here?" Alisa lifted the strap of the apron above her her head, before beginning to undo the knot on the back.
"Yeah but I can tell him you're bus-"
"No need." Alisa rushed past the two, throwing the apron at Libby as she left.
Avery hummed, "I'm not an expert... Ive really only had one relationship, but something tells me that they're officially together."
"You'd be correct."
Avery nodded slowly grabbing a knife before following after Alisa.
Libby snorted, her little sister was so adorable. She just hoped for that man's sake that no one else was around to overhear, or he'd be dealing with Avery times 10, times 3.
A/N: I got writers block for 'Three Hotties & A Bottle of Jack', so I decided to write this instead. That and writing Alisa's relationship with the Hawthorne family helps me take my mind off the fact that for whatever reason they treat her like shit in the books despite how long she's been in their life. If you’re wondering why the Knox name thing kept happening it’s because that’s what I began calling him after he did the equivalent of jumping Gigi in tgg and I still find it funny.
