You like Jameson AND Grayson both despite the fact that they fought over Avery and put her in the middle of things multiple times, not to mention how the two of them treated HER in the first book. And that’s not even touching on how they treated each other.
But two girls who happened to have a relationship in some form with Nash Hawthorne, who isn’t even the main character, mind you, get ripped apart for it. They were awkward and rude to each other at WORST and that’s even with them being strangers, not brothers like Jameson and Grayson. Yet you continue to like one while hating on the other because you believe that one always has to be the other woman and demean the two by putting them into boxes they never asked to be put into. While Jameson and Grayson get to be who they choose to be, Libby and Alisa are tied down to what the fandom believes they represent despite their identities and individuality.
YOU are incapable of seeing them past a stereotype of two girls fighting over a boy, and trying to pretend otherwise is, dare I say, the worst part.
And everyone who says “I don’t like Libby for other reasons” or vice versa, YOU ARE A LIAR! You either don’t like Libby or Alisa because you grew to like one first and discarded the other when this little “love triangle” (not even a love triangle, mind you) came about. Or (and I’m focusing on Libby because we get introduced to her first) your reasons for disliking Libby are STILL sexist because jlb outright SHOWS you the violence Libby faces, and it being at its worst when she finally leaves like how everyone told her to, and you’re still going on about “wElL sHe WaSn’T a gOoD pArEnT tO aVeRy”. NO SHIT!! She’s her sister!! And Avery being put with someone she knows for literally 3 MORE YEARS (till she turned 18) is better than being bounced around the foster care system, or worse, being forced to stay with her dad.
And then there’s the ones who stan Nash and believe he did no wrong. Genuinely I need to call National Geographic for some of you guys because they need to document the world’s biggest BIRD.
Synopsis: Lyra has trouble figuring out what to do for a relationship announcement, Savannah wants to have that authentic college party to prove a point, and Gigi really wants the girls to agree to being in her favorite singer's music video. 3 different occasions. Each led to a series of events the girls wish it didn't lead to thanks to a little or a lot of alcohol.

♥︎ Part 1: Lyra Catalina Kane and The Impossible Relationship Announcement
Theres always a duo in a trio.
Except not.
The Grayson sisters have done everything in their power to ensure Lyra felt included in all their activities. Everything.
That's why she felt comfortable going to them when she felt she was having an issue.
"I don't know what to do for a relationship announcement and it's stressing me out."
Gigi turned to her from where she was trying to make one of those edible glitter drinks in the kitchen. She'd seen a video of it on tiktok and had instantly became captivated with recreating the concoction.
Alongside having one of those girls nights where everyone brings different kinds of drinks.
"Huh? What do you mean relationship announcement?"
"You know... Like... An announcement... That I'm dating your brother."
Savannah was in the kitchen rummaging around for coconut cream. The woman had opted to create pina coladas. Which Lyra had nothing against because she loved a good pina colada.
Gigi, however, didn't agree. Claiming putting pineapple and coconut together was "just as bad as putting pineapple on pizza".
She heard Savannah's steps turn towards the kitchen island to look at them,"You're dating him? Why?"
"You two know this???"
"That doesn't exactly answer her question." Gigi finished for her sister as Savannah went back to searching for the coconut cream.
Gigi snickered, grinning at Lyra as she gave her a look, "I'm kidding! But what do you mean by relationship announcement. Hate to tell you this, your relationship is this world's worst kept secret."
"I know that. We've decided to officially make things known now though. Things are far more stable than they were a couple months ago. However, I didn't want to do an interview to announce it. So, Grayson said that we should both create a list of things to possibly do and then we can narrow it down from there."
Lyra totally wasn't annoyed that her want for a relationship announcement had turned into a very odd version of a business arrangement.
"Do a cute little soft launch post," Gigi nodded her head towards Savannah, "Sav did it and she's in some weird situationship not so situationship because they're not technically even talking anymore anyways, relationship."
Lyra hated how insanely accurate that description was for Rohan and Savannah's relationship not relationship.
Savannah shrugged, "I don't get the hype around relationship announcements."
"We thought it'd be fun. I really wanted to do one and-"
"Alisa told you it'd be great PR didn't she?" Gigi smirked.
"Actually no, Alisa is very much against the idea."
"Really? She seems like the type that would be all for that kind of thing."
"Well Max did one-"
"Yeah that would probably ruin it." Savannah smirked.
"Sav, be nice.... That being said I do remember the PR disaster that was Maxine's relationship announcement. I heard it got so bad that Avery had to jump online and started getting into Twitter battles until... Well... I'm guessing Alisa probably took her phone or something." Gigi trailed off, her voice getting lower as she began to suddenly become far more focused in on the drink she was making.
"Alisa can do that? Avery's a grown woman and that's her lawyer."
"See, Alisa functions as more of a mother hen."
Lyra grinned, "Alisa doesn't want us doing one, but I want to do one. And its my relationship."
"And Grayson just went 'yeah okay babe, let's do this!'" Savannah raised an eyebrow.
"See Grayson has an awfully hard time saying no to little ole' me."
"How adorable!" Savannah said with a faux enthusiasm.
Gigi snorted, "Sav! I said be nice!"
Lyra nearly jumped at the loud sound of the blender turning on.
"Dont mind her, shes pissy because her own relationship didn't work out!!!"
"That is not the reason!!!"
Lyra raised an eyebrow as Gigi's grin widened.
"Y'all make me actually want to spend time with my little brother!"
"Thats just mean! Hes on the tinier side right?!"
"Yes, but the little guy is mad at me right now!"
"Why?!"
"Cause the first time he met Grayson and challenged him to an arm wrestle, Grayson beat him!"
".... He didn't let the kid win!"
"Nope!"
Gigi leaned in closer to Lyra, "Divorce."
"It's not that deep! However, my brother took me still being with him personally! Something about how 'I shouldn't be with a guy who he couldn't defeat in a fight if he hurt me.'!"
"Grayson hasn't realized you're supposed to always lie to children, huh?!"
"Apparently not! Grayson immediately replied that in order for that to happen, I'd need to date someone his age and then I'd be sent to prison!"
"Hes so blonde!"
Lyra snorted, grinning, "Anyways my brother is mad with my boyfriend, and my boyfriend is...!"
The blender finally turned off, and Lyra took a moment to enjoy the brief silence that fell over the room.
"Lord help me."
Gigi, of course, ruined it.
Savannah came back with a bit of the Pina Coladas in fancy little glasses on a tray, setting them on the table, "Here we go."
Lyra immediately grabbed one, smiling at Savannah, "Thank you Savvy~"
"Ew... Don't call me that."
"You didnt mind Rohan calling you that," the moment Lyra lifted the glass to drink some of it. She knew something was wrong. This wasn't a Pina Colada.
"... Whats in this?"
Savannah who was marveling at the sheer amount of glitter in the drink Gigi was making turned to her in slight surprise, "Pineapple, Coconut cream, and a splash of rum."
"Splash- Rum??? I thought you were making a Pina Colada!"
"That IS a Pina Colada."
"No! Pina Coladas don't have rum in them!"
"Yes.... Yes they do?"
"No, none of the Pina Coladas I have have ever had a dang "splash of rum"."
Gigi took her glass sipping some of it, immediately furrowing her brows. She turned to Savannah, "In what universe is that a splash?"
"See, splash can mean a multitude of things. And I put my definition of a splash in it."
Lyra glared, "You're trying to kill me."
"Isnt this a cocktail party? Moreover, youve finished half the glass. It seems you'll be dying pretty happy Ms. Alcoholic."
"Oh yeah, I'm the alcoholic while the person that added half a bottle of rum to a Pina Colada is sitting in front of me!" Lyra side eyed Savannah as she shyly took another sip of her drink.
"It wasn't half a bottle."
Gigi grinned, "Well I personally wasn't gonna add alcohol as I thought I texted mocktail. However..."
Lyra watched in fascinated horror as Gigi stood up and walked to the kitchen.
She finished drinking the rest of her Pina Colada.
"Theres more of it in the blender." Savannah said, giving her a pointed look.
Lyra wasn't proud of how fast she stood up to get more.
That was the beginning of a very bad evening.
Lyra felt hammered. The first thing she realized was that she was no longer in her part-time apartment. The next thing she realized was that she was in sheets that felt way too similar to the ones in Grayson's bedroom at Hawthorne House.
They felt expensive. Really really expensive.
Lyra cringed, sitting up taking in how utterly wrecked the room looked. She needed to clean this up before Grayson woke up and found out she snuck into his bed while drunk.
She wobbled a bit as she tried to move to stand up, accidentally kickeing the person sleeping next to her. Which she then quickly realized wasn't actually Grayson.
Gigi looked up at Lyra, glaring, "you couldn't let me have 5 more minutes."
That wasn't Grayson at all. That was Gigi. Both started with a G. But one of them was a girl and a couple years younger. Which means Savannah was also around here somewhere. Meaning all 3 of them came to Hawthorne House while drunk. And given Grayson wasn't here and the room looked like shit. It means Grayson is probably in his penthouse apartment outside of Hawthorne House.
They were in for a breaking and entering charge with this one.
Alisa was sure not gonna be happy with this either. And she'd prefer the cops over Alisa.
Fuck.
_______________________
Savannah was running her fingers through her short hair in the mirror as both Gigi and Lyra ran around like headless chickens trying to get everything cleaned up. A chorus of "ow"s and "shhh"s filled the room.
Her head had already told her all the things she needed to know about the situation. She wasn't about to commit a horrendous self harm ritual trying to erase whatever happened during the previous 12 hours. So she grabbed a towel from a closet as well as some clothes Gigi must have left around in Grayson's part of the house during her last visit and took a much needed shower.
She put her time and body to much better use by rather than trying to fix all the things they did wrong. Trying to figure out how exactly they got here and what they did wrong.
Savannah hates not remembering things after she drinks. It's a gap in her memory. So she tends to not drink enough to get to that point.
Last night was clearly an exception.
Gigi's mantra of "ow"s and "shush"es had turned into a repetition of the word "fuck".
"You remember anything G?" Lyra asked with forced softness.
"Shhh I remember some." Her voice was in a low whisper, which probably hurt more to maintain than it did to not.
Savannah sipped a bottle of water she found sitting in the room fridge unopened, "Care to share, maybe you can help jog me and Lyra's memories."
Gigi finally took the hint that Savannah wasn't gonna help at all, sending Lyra a pointed look telling her to just give up as she sat down. She stared at a place on the floor for a moment before incredibly slowly turning her head to look at Savannah, "Well after awhile of pretty drinks, we started just doing shots."
"With the expensive alcohol my boyfriend keeps in my apartment for when he visits sometimes" Lyra trailed off, horrified.
"Then Lyra started complaining about not knowing how to announce her relationship.... So... We kinda... And by we, I mean you Lyra," Savannah would've laughed at her need to emphasize that if it weren't for the fact it would hurt to do so, "Decided we should Romeo and Juliet him, so he can help us figure it out."
"And like drunk dumbasses we took an Uber and came here." Lyra groaned, holding her head, "Shit, it's coming back to me now. I don't like it."
Gigi hummed, "That's where things really begin to blank for me. I don't remember how we got on the grounds or if someone just let us in. Probably the latter. But I do know we decided to mission impossible this instead of going through the front door."
"And then we Romeo and Juliet'd an empty room. Savannah threw rocks at Grayson's window."
"Rocks?" Savannah frowned, "You mean pebbles?"
Lyra turned to the broken window with a depressive stare, "Nope, I mean rocks. Gigi realized Grayson wasn't there when he still didn't get out and so we used eachother to get one of us onto the balcony then we used the rope to get the other two up."
"I'm sorry, rope?" Gigi turned to Lyra. "Where'd we get rope from?"
"We brought it with us probably? See I'm more concerned about how we even managed to use the rope to begin with."
"Lord have mercy. " Savannah tried not to roll her eyes.
"Wow. Even while drunk we didn't believe in Rapunzel Grayson. Grayson, Grayson, let down your hair." Gigi snickered.
"So after pulling a dead girl walking, what'd we do?" Savannah said, trying to join in on the references.
"I think it's only a "dead girl walking" if Grayson had been here, and I'd broke in by myself and then we-"
"Cracked. I know. Ive watched the play." Gigi waved her hand dismissively.
"I don't remember much after that." Lyra stated.
Both girls turned to Savannah as if she was meant to be their saving grace, but she could only shake her head, "I don't remember crap."
Savannah wouldn't say the fact she was annoyed they remembered at least something and she didn't remember anything out loud.
"Fuck."
Lyra sighed, moving to grab her phone. Her eyes visibly winded to that of saucers before she winced at how the movement apparently seemed to contribute to worsening her hangover headache.
"What?" Savannah raised an eyebrow.
"I fucked up... I fucked up real bad."
"Worse than what we know already?"
Lyra turned the phone to them and it was a post that's like and comment count seemed to increase tremendously even as they were staring at it.
The post itself was a hot mess. Something so uncoordinated and definitely something that wouldn't have passed the Alisa check.
The first and most obvious red flag was the photo that was taken at a weird angle and extremely blurry.
Gigi had gifted that custom jersey to Grayson as a prank gift. An awful gift she knew he'd hate before giving him the "stunning stellar gift" she knew he'd love.
Grayson accepted both gifts with grace, and Savannah couldn't help the suprise at the realization he kept the jersey to begin with.
There Lyra was though. Evidence of the fact he kept the God awful gift to begin with. Lyra wasn't facing the camera. She faced whatever it was she could possibly be looking at when she was close to blackout drunk standing on the balcony of Grayson's bedroom.
Thank god Lyra was stunning. Savannah doesn't know many people who can pull off the moonlit look so effortlessly while drunk. Her hair which normally probably would've saved her, was in an updo using what used to be one of Savannah's favorite clawclips. The 'Hawthorne' on the back to the jersey completely visible. Aside from the jersey however, long bare legs wearing Grayson's slippers were also on full display.
Drunk Lyra had clearly put some thought into this post. Well... As much thought as you can get with a photo this blurry and angled so oddly it looked like a toddler took it.
Despite Lyra's stunning and odd appearance, Gigi was a blob next to Lyra, balancing with something on her head and a complete blur that she only recognized because she knew Gigi anywhere.
The chaos behind the photo of a radient goddess exposed by well, the heathen right next to her.
Even though thats not the most obviously wrong thing with the photo.
Red flag number 2 and 3?
The song choice wasn't all that spectacular. Especially when you pair it with the caption that couldn't match less with the song chosen.
Just Keep Watching by Tate McRae paired up with a caption reading 'One night I was bored in bed. And stalked you on the internet. It's feminine intuition. 'Cuz I always had a vision of us standing like this- Olivia Rodrigo'.
There were so many things wrong with that combination.
Savannah didn't even want to think about why Lyra chose that part of the song to quote, especially with how long it was. She was far too busy thinking about the tone shift between Drop Dead and Just Keep Watching.
Savannah sighed, tapping on the photo to see who was tagged.
Grayson's account was tagged right over the 'Hawthorne' of the jersey.
Definitely no getting out of this one.
"I mean... At least it's not Sports Car." Gigi mumbled.
Savannah didn't feel this was all that better.
"Well, it seems drinking solved your problem on how to announce your relationship?" Gigi smiled awkwardly, though her eyes seemed glued to herself in the photo. She was probably debating on trying that stunt, sober.
Whatever that stunt was.
"I may very well be naked underneath that."
"They don't know that." Gigi shrugged.
Savannah snorted, "You're wearing Grayson's indoor slippers... On the balcony. Outside."
"Hes gonna kill me."
Maybe.
"So many people have seen it... I can't even delete it anymore." Lyra frowned.
"Drunk actions are sober thoughts." Gigi says as if she were some senior citizen passing on wisdom.
"I admited to stalking him in the caption..."
"Wait that's why you chose that specific lyric?" Savannah looked at her, raising an eyebrow in clear concern.
"You call it stalking, I call it using the resources available to me."
"Oh my God...." Gigi trailed off, looking at Savannah, her eyebrows furrowed. She then turned her gaze back to Lyra, "Teach me."
"Wait... If you two are in the photo, that means..." Savannah started as the realization hit her like a truck.
She took the God awful photo.
Gigi grinned, looking at her, "You participated in this trainwreck."
Trainwreck was the understatement of the century.
"We're never. Doing this again."
"Never say never~" Gigi said in a singsong voice.
Lyra and Savannah both turned to the youngest, their gazes hard, "Never."

♦︎ Part 2: "Savvy" and The College Party Experiment
Savannah was throwing a college party. Or well, Gigi and Lyra were and she tried to help where she could.
It'd started off as a bet with a deskmate.
Which quickly spiraled into Lyra and Gigi flying over to help her out.
Savannah wanted to prove a point. She wasn't completely sure what that point was anymore. But she knew she wanted to prove it. That she had to prove it. Because Savannah always proved her points.
Even if she didnt exactly know what she was proving anymore.
The conversation had spiraled so far out of what it originally was, she's still reeling in astonishment.
Gigi quickly took control of the situation as if she were well versed in planning college parties. Though she also said that usually it's the "frats" that do these sorts of things.
Lyra was just about as useless as her when it came to this sort of stuff. Apparently she'd only started going to them just recently.
Savannah sighed, looking at Lyra, "Why are you even going to college parties now anyways? I thought that wasn't your thing even before you got your memories back."
"The whole partying thing isn't, yes. But then I was watching some old rom-coms and I want my dancing in a crowded room moment."
She blamed Gigi for that. In multiple of their post game interviews, the most common question for her was something in regard to her love life. Gigi was really sought after.
Her energy was infectious and Savannah really couldn't blame the large amounts of people that had made her their celebrity crush following the games. A lime light had been shined on her sister and she couldnt be happier for her.
To the outside world, Geeg didn't notice the effect she had on people. To Savannah, her sister was definitely trying to be "nonchalant" about it. It wasn't exactly working, but she wasn't gonna tell her that.
Gigi had told more interviewers than she can count that she wants to be ran to like in those old rom-coms after the end of movie break up.
That caused a whole different type of questioning to occur during their interviews.
Grayson had been the first one aside from Gigi to be asked about what kind of rom-com moment he'd like to live out. And Savannah could tell the answer was directed at Lyra when he said he wanted one of those dancing in the rain moments.
Savannah herself was far more into the smaller scenes in rom-coms between couples. The more quiet moments that are only completely recognized between the two people.
She'd never admit that out loud, and she ignores the fact that her mind always moves to Rohan's hands in her hair whether that be cutting it or other activities.
Instead she likes to think about the 2 months after when Gigi decided bangs would look good on her. She spent a good hour scrolling on Pinterest with Lyra before they both attempted at giving her bangs themselves.
Savannah shook her head, looking at Gigi, "This has singlehandedly got to be the worst idea I've ever had in my entire life."
"Hey, gotta go big for your first time am I right," Gigi stood up holding her hand up for Savannah to high five.
She glanced at the hand before bringing her gaze to meet Gigi's, raising an eyebrow, "Got something you want to share?"
Gigi paused, turning to Lyra, "Huh?"
Lyra smiled simply walking off to continue helping set things up to the best of her ability.
Gigi turned to her, "So just how much money are you losing in this bet? You wouldn't call us down here for nothing."
You both came by yourselves.
"Nothing much to be honest. I just realized that while I've been to my fair share of high school parties and well... Parties parties. I've never really put much thought into what actually happens at these parties. And well Google wasn't much help when it came to planning it."
Gigi shrugged, "I see. So you just don't want to lose."
She just don't want to lose.
Gigi grinned, "Okay I got you. Although we need to buy alcohol. We don't exactly have whatever stash Grayson has- had in Lyra's apartment to help us out this time."
Savannah raised an eyebrow, "We can always use your fake ID."
"I'm famous now. That won't work."
"Then no drinks?"
"Absolutely not! This wouldn't be a college party without underage drinking!.... I have an idea!" Gigi was running up and out the house before Savannah even got the chance to protest.
Savannah sighed, "I really am mom's only hope, huh."
Lyra walked back over carrying a box of stuff, "Gigi has a fake ID and you're just... Fine with that?"
"What am I supposed to do? Tell her no? She'll just get two more in retaliation. It's the youngest child in her. Theres no helping it."
"You just also want alcohol."
Savannah didn't deny it because Lyra wasn't technically incorrect.
Lyra huffed, "There isnt any here?"
"Contrary to popular belief, I'm actually far more partial to vodka and beer. Which if you know anything about Gigi, she likes her drinks on the sweeter side."
Lyra rolled her eyes, "Oh trust me, I know." she stood up, walking into the kitchen, "Wheres it at?"
"What? You want to drink? Party hasn't even started yet."
"Come on Savvy~ Live a little."
Savannah groaned despite the smile that slowly forced it's way onto her face, "I hate you."
Lyra walked back with two tiny bottles she seemed to find anyways without guidance, "Oh honeypie, you're gonna love me in a couple hours."
_______________________
Gigi may have been a couple drinks in. But she was still somewhat sober enough to know that her sister had never rapped in her life.
And yet she was oddly good at it...
Lyra on the other hand?
At least she's good at twerking.
The two woman were absolutely hammered. And she knew that solely based off the fact that Savannah was throwing dollars down on Lyra at the moment.
A frat guy from Sav's Uni that Gigi had quickly made friends with had handled the logistics over music and invites.
Gigi wasn't sure if that meant the guy wanted to get in her pants, but it wasn't like she visits Savannah at college enough to worry too much about it anyways.
Lyra's screaming as a song came on brought Gigi back to reality relatively quickly.
"Oh my God!!! Thats my song!!! This is my song!!!"
Gigi clutched the cup in her hand tightly as she let her body sway to the music, Lyra was an incredibly loud drunk.
She didn't doubt that videos of this party were circulating at the moment. She also didn't doubt she'd be getting a phone call from both her brother and mother tomorrow morning. She kept her mind focused on the moment though. Tomorrow was future Gigi's problem. Current Gigi was focused on Savannah who at least seemed to be having fun and letting loose.
She couldn't say she ever expected to see Savannah like this. She knew her sister incredibly well after all. But she didn't doubt it was due to a weird combination of wanting to prove a point and the comfortability of being here with both Gigi and Lyra specifically.
Gigi turned, grinning as she waved her hand in front of Lyra to get her attention, "Lyra! They're doing bodyshots! Can I do one on you?!"
Lyra turned to her, bright smile and hair wavy as she happily agreed, "Okay!"
Gigi couldn't figure out if her hair was as curly as it was due to the humidity and the heat of the room, or if it had been like that before the party. She genuinely couldn't remember. She did, however, know that she needed to tell Lyra that her natural hair looked amazing.
Gigi doesn't know what's sadder. The fact that wasn't the bodyshots weren't the craziest thing they ended up doing or the fact they had to clean all that up in the morning.
Lyra grumbled, "How the hell were we hosting the party and we left to get tattoos?"
Gigi shrugged, glancing at Lyra. She was still in the clothes from yesterday and her hair looked a hot mess, but on her hip sat a large pretty stars design. Gigi knew on hers was a sun. Because Savannah had a moon with stars around it on her hip.
Gigi also knew that no matter how drunk she was, she'd ensure she got the sun.
"I believe this might of occurred sometime at 4am... Everyone was surely gone by then. Thats also around the time of the transaction." Savannah said, a heating pack to her forehead like thats gonna help her.
Gigi grinned, "I think this was one of our best drunk ideas yet."
"We're never. Doing this again. Gigi." Her extremely hot Latina bestie glared, though it barely held much weight.
"You said that last time~"
"Yeah and I meant it. Alisa's gonna kill us."
Gigi could talk her way out of an Alisa scolding. She's well connected after all. And while Knox wouldn't normally take her side, Gigi had some pretty good-bad blackmail on him.
Gigi nodded her head in agreement anyways though. She supposed bragging about her get out of jail free card might make Lyra petty enough to retaliate.
Lyra wasn't as hot when she's Pettyra.
Pettyra is evil.
Gigi laughed inwardly at out how stupid that sounded. There had to be something still in her system.
Savannah groaned in pain, "I swear if you two dont shut up."
Lyra smirked, glancing at Gigi, "Someone drank way more than usual, huh."
Gigi snickered, "I have some hangover tea brewing."
"Oh God no. Is it that disgusting shit Grayson made for you last time?"
Gigi rolled her eyes, "I'm not that evil."
Lyra hummed, "It did work though."
"Yeah. Because it was so bad my entire brain rewired itself into forgetting I was supposed to be hungover."
"Id say thats a pretty effective hangover cure."
"Id say your boyfriend's an asshole." Savannah grumbled, clutching her head.
"Hey.... Only I can call him an asshole..."
Gigi snorted, blinking at seeing Savannah's phone buzzing none stop.
She went to grab it, pressing her fingerprint to the screen unlocking it.
Rohan.
"I thought we blocked the British man. Does Independence Day mean nothing to you?"
Savannah gave her a weird look.
"What do you mean he's unblocked?"
Gigi snorted. Her sister had sent her first drunk text to an ex. Or well whatever her and Rohan were for the amount of time at which they were something.
Talk about getting that authentic college party experience.
"I mean... Hes unblocked."
Savannah looked ready to kill herself... Or someone. Probably her.
"Scale of 1 to 10, how bad is the text?" Lyra asked.
"About a 5 to be honest."
"Thats not great, but we can definitely just ignore it happened and block him again."
"Hes on a flight here."
"I'm gonna kill myself." Savannah groaned, running a hand over her face, "This is never happening again."
"Never say never~" Gigi said in a singsong voice.
"Now isn't the time."
"Savannah we finished an entire pack of corona before the party started.... Among other things," Lyra cringed.
"Yeah. Never again."
Gigi rolled her eyes, "You guys are no fun."
"I drunk unblocked and texted."
"I have a tattoo."
Gigi huffed, "Both of which, can be undone."
Gigi got a pillow thrown at her head. The fast movement she had to do to dodge it doing absolutely nothing for her already throbbing headache.
Not that she would admit that out loud. She felt a strange sense of superiority over Savannah despite the fact that the only reason she was able to stand at the moment was probably because she drank less than her.
"Okay, different topic. How'd we end up with the idea to get tattoos," Gigi laughed. Oddly enough she hadn't even been thinking about getting one recently.
While she was always the one to suggest getting them, she figured she had enough tattoos. Or at least her mother figured that.
But you know what they say, drunk actions are sober thoughts.
Savannah blinked, looking away awkwardly, "I think that might be my fault..."
"Why do you say that?" Lyra tilted her head.
"Ive been debating about asking to get a group tattoo with you two."
Savannah never asked to get tattoos. Sure she went along with it whenever Gigi suggested it.
It's how she had the 'G2' tattoo at the base of her nape. And a twin tattoo on her wrist. As well as a group sibling tattoo with Gray.
But she never outright requested one, or even showed interest in getting one.
"You wanted... A tattoo?" Gigi raised an eyebrow.
"With me?" Lyra continued as if thats where Gigi's sentence was going. She looked far more touched than she probably usually would in this situation.
Savannah grumbled, "I wasn't sure whether I actually would've wanted to go through with it though. Apparently I'm an impulse drun-"
Lyra practically jumped on Savannah, who let out an immediate grunt of pain. Whether that be from Lyra jumping on her or her hangover, Gigi couldn't tell you.
"I'm so touched!!! Ow... This is so awesome!!! Ow! Savannah wants to get a tattoo, and it's with me. Did I win the lottery? Did I die? I love this! Ow ow ow ow ow." Lyra was in pain at her own screeching.
Savannah frowned, "You're being way too loud and incredibly way too passionate at the moment. Tone it down a bit."
Lyra nodded immediately getting up, "I'm gonna go pour us all a cup of the hangover cure."
She walked into the kitchen as Gigi moved to sit next to Savannah, leaning against her.
"Mystery opened and closed all in one minute. Very officiant of you," Gigi smirked.
Savannah leaned back into Gigi in return, grumbling, "I honestly didn't expect either of you to want to do it."
"Lyra I can semi-understand, but me?"
"We have so many group tattoos together already, Geeg."
Gigi smiled, "Yes, and I'd never turn down getting a tattoo with you. Never."
Savannah smiled softly, "Yes, well I only get them because of you."
"I know. Everyone always has such a hard time saying no to me because I'm amazing and wonderful and-" Gigi heard the doorbell ring.
She immediately stood up, going to answer the door as Lyra entered the living room with the cure.
Calmly she picked up her doordash, coffee of course, from the front steps as she closed the door behind her. Going into the living room.
Lyra turned to her, raising an eyebrow, "You ordered coffee without asking us if we wanted any?"
"I did it early this morning before I went to sleep. I schedule ordered it. You two were too far gone to be responsive. Lights were completely out for you two."
Savannah snorted as she took the glass, sipping some of it before immediately spitting it out into the cup, coughing aggressively.
Lyra turned to her, taking the cup from her and setting it on a nearby coffee table, looking at Savannah, "You okay?"
Savannah's expression looked pinched, but she looked at Lyra with a sweet smile, "It's simply really hot..."
"Oh... Be careful hun," Lyra blew on her tea for a bit, before taking a slow sip herself. Immediately her reaction followed that of Savannah's. Lyra's eyes narrowed at the cup, before turning to Savannah, "Seriously?"
"If I had to suffer, so do you."
"I'd know that disgusting hangover cure anywhere." Lyra turned to Gigi with an accusatory glare, "Really?"
Gigi grinned, taking a sip of her coffee, "Thats for not warning me in advance last time."
"You petty evil little gremlin-"

♣︎ Part 3: Gigi and The Very Very Incredibly Super Fun Music Video Cameo (At Least Thats What She Told Her Girls)
"You want us... To be in your music video?"
The singer, Sarah, nodded, smiling softly, "You three have gained a lot of traction since your games. People would definitely go crazy over it when it comes out. Especially because I plan on gathering girls from all the other games after yours as well. Avery denied my request to be in it, but she did promise to reach out to some of the former female contestants."
Gigi had been apparently the easiest one to reach out to of the girls from her games. Savannah heard the artist name and immediately directed her manager to Gigi. Lyra on the other hand thought it was a spam caller based on what she told her when Gigi texted her about the meeting.
"We'd love to! Oh my God, this is amazing! This is literally my dream! What do we have to do? Can I hug you?"
The woman smiled, "Of course. My manager will be in touch regarding the logistics and the contracts."
"Perfect!"
It was not perfect.
"Absolutely not."
"Saaaaaav~ Pleeeeeeeeeaaaassssse~"
"No. This requires us to go the Vegas. I know where this road is leading us." Savannah said.
"Yup. And I distinctly remember saying never again." Lyra continued for her.
"Oh come on! It's just Vegas. Pleaseeeee."
"No."
"We don't need to drink a lot!"
"It's Vegas. I'm not stupid. Whenever we do these girls trips it always happens."
"How do you expect us to break the curse if we don't actively put ourselves in situations where we can try to break the curse," Gigi crossed her arms.
Lyra simply looked at her, her eyes furrowed in confusion, "Your logic makes no sense."
"Lyra, Id expect you of all people to be on my side."
"While I do love Sarah and would like to. Theres no telling if I can even get time off from my job."
"Quit your job. Sarah's more important."
Lyra deadpanned, shaking her head, "No means no Gigi."
Gigi wasn't taking no for an answer.
"How'd we lose? It was 2 against one."
Savannah side eyed Lyra, "You're extremely easy."
Gigi only grinned, happily enjoying a glass of champagne. First Class. She loves spoiling herself with all the good life has to offer.
"You good there, Sunshine?" Lyra asked.
Gigi nodded, ignoring Lyra's use of her boyfriend's nickname for her. She was not falling for such blatant ragebait, "I'm getting all my drinking out the way before we land!"
Gigi knew that wasn't true. However, she just has to drink without doing something stupid. Thus the curse is broken.
Gigi is insanely smart, dont fall for the propaganda that says otherwise.
Now, whenever there girls trips happened. Things didn't tend to go badly for Gigi at all. Majority of the time it was something happening to either Lyra and Savannah.
Mimosas wasn't all that happy when she told him about this trip. He seemed to share Lyra and Savannah's boring superstitious thinking.
But the worst thing that's ever happened in Vegas on accident is a Vegas Wedding. And that wasn't happening to Gigi.
She loved her boyfriend too much for that.
If anything it was happening to Lyra and Savannah. Like she said, the bad things when they all got blackout drunk together tend to happen to those two.
2 Days Later...
Gigi had gotten the chance to meet tons of Grandest Games players over the past couple days. All incredibly smart and talented. And also apparently cursed as well.
Funny how that happens.
Lyra took it as a sign that the games really need to stop happening, and Savannah agreed. But Gigi couldn't disagree more. After all, how would she possibly be in the situation she's in now if the games didn't happen.
With two of the most important women in her life.
"Savannah stop saying using the slot machine is easy! It's not!"
"I have no clue how you expect to survive poker if you can't even use a slot machine."
"Dont they have uno? I swear to God, I read somewhere that they have uno."
Gigi shook her head, grinning, "Lyra it's fine. I don't understand it either. Poker is A LOT easier than slot machines."
Savannah looked downright offended at the concept, "Are you serious, Geeg? You can't be serious."
Sarah walked over to them, and thats when Gigi snapped back into the reality that they were currently being filmed for a music video. The more intentional scenes they had, had been filmed already. So whatever other filming they were doing it was mostly just... Act normal.
"What you guys talking about?"
Gigi smiled, "Slot machines or poker?"
Sarah grinned, "Slot machines, 100%"
Lyra turned to Sarah, "You can't be serious!"
"Yes. She can. You have good chances of winning on a slot machine."
Sarah made a sound of disagreement, "Ehhh now thats debatable."
"See, this is why I let Grayson handle all the gambling."
"Of course. Because Gray's just incredible at everything he does," Gigi grumbled. Grayson did have better luck than her when it came to gambling. She learned that the hard way when they went to a casino in Texas with Savannah as a "sibling bonding trip".
Sav says it's the world's way of compensating him for the way it's always shitting on him.
Sarah leaned in close to Lyra, a clear act of closeness for the camera, "Y'all should order drinks. Might as well have a little fun while you're doing this."
"Uh-Uh." Savannah gave Gigi a look, "Gambling while drunk is not the way I want to go out."
"It's okay. Mom can save us from poverty."
"See, I'm not 100% sure. But I'm pretty sure she would prefer it if she didn't have to," Lyra stated sarcasm dripping from every word.
"This is what peer pressure feels like."
"We're telling you not to drink." Savannah shook her head in amusement.
"Exactly. Peer pressure."
Sarah smiled, holding a hand out to Gigi, "Here, I'll drink with you."
Gigi grinned, immediately running off with Sarah to the bar. She knew the action was mainly for the cameras, but she didn't care. She needed away from staring at that slot machine. Trying to figure out what to look for was causing her a headache.

Like most things. Gigi's decision making led to them all collectively making bad decisions, which leads to even worse decision making.
Which is how Lyra found herself watching the music video and wanting to die.
"I don't remember filming this..."
The this in question was a clear chaotic deviation from the scenes at which they were originally told to film. Scenes at which were filmed when they were under the influence.
Gigi frowned, "It's not that bad... We can still say we broke the curse!"
Lyra didn't remember anything from that night. And she likes to pride herself on remembering at least one thing whenever she gets black out drunk. But whenever her mind tried to conjure up images of everything that occurred that night, she finds it impossible. All she remembers when she thinks about that night is the slot machines then waking up to find out Slate had surprised G the night before.
Shes now realizing why that is.
This is chaos and trauma all wrapped into one.
"I'm amazing at blackjack when I'm drunk?" Gigi looked astonished. Perhaps it's because she genuinely convinced herself that winning in blackjack was impossible after her losing streak in the game became far more impressive than the possibility of her ever winning.
"Surely this violates some portions of our contract?" Savannah frowned, Vegas was far too cramped and crowded for her to be doing half the things she's doing in this video.
In Lyra's incredibly humble opinion, she thinks Vegas is too crowded to be filming a music video at all.
"Jesus Christ Lyra, you can drink..." Savannah glanced at her.
"God knew that if I was going to hang around the Hawthorne's without wanting to pull my hair out, I'd need a constant flow of liquid courage."
"That sounds like alcholism, babe." Gigi grinned before pausing, "Wait a minute..."
Lyra turned her gaze back to the music video, pausing in astonishment, "Oh my God..."
Savannah turned too, immediately pausing the video the moment her eyes locked on the screen.
"So..."
"I have a Vegas marriage."
"Curse remains still in place." Samantha deadpanned.
"I need to get an annulment..."
"Does an annulment really matter if it's your boyfriend- Or I guess... Husband?"
"This explains why he was there in the morning..."
"No, not really." Savannah shook her head, "That doesn't explain it in the slightest."
Lyra nodded in agreement, looking at Gigi, "Seems like that's probably what he's been meaning to tell you about that you keep avoiding."
"Yeah! Cause I thought we were gonna have the marriage talk, which I mean... Now it makes sense why I was getting those vibes. Oh my God, I need to stop drinking with you two."
"No shit Geeg! We came to the conclusion years before you did." Savannah semi-snapped.
"Oh my God, I hate my life. I didn't want a Vegas marriage! Thats like even less romantic than proposing on the jumbotron."
"No... I personally still think the jumbotron is as unromantic as you're getting. Vegas marriages have the potential to be pretty romantic," Lyra smiled.
"Ill tell Grayson you said that then." Savannah said.
"Dont you fucking dare Blondie or I swear to God I will spread a rumor that your hair is extensions."
Savannah didn't look nearly as scared by that threat as she'd hopped she'd be.
"So we can agree to never do this again right?" Gigi asked.
"Never say never~," Savannah pitched her voice to be a mocking version of Gigi's as she looked at the woman unamused.
"You're so petty."
"You started this."
"Guys, guys," Lyra tapped Gigi's shoulder, causing both of them to look at her, "I think we should try to break the curse!"
"Oh my God, Lyra you're so annoying!" Gigi grabbed a pillow hitting Lyra with it.
Lyra burst out laughing, grinning at Savannah as she raised her fist to fist bump the woman who reluctantly returned it.
"It is way too early in the morning for this," Gigi grumbled, "I'm married."
"Not for long if you get it annulled," Lyra shrugged.
"I plan to, theres no way I'm allowing myself to be married and I can't even remember doing it! That makes for such a sucky wedding story. Mom's sure to be pissed as well."
Savannah smiled, turning to Gigi, "I'm sure Slate won't mind that."
How much did he drink to end up going along with it? He definitely wouldn't do it sober.
This tracks what Lyra does remember of that morning. Slate was awake before all of them and he had been calling someone about annulments. That being said, Lyra cared far too much about her hangover to think anymore into it.
She's now realizing why that is.
"I don't doubt that. My real problem is how I'm supposed to explain this to mom when she inevitably sees this video."
Lyra watched Savannah's face morph to that of realization as she gave Gigi a look that clearly said: 'I would not want to be you right now'.
Sisters. What a beautiful thing.
"Okay, why don't we use this video to figure out what happened." Lyra said, standing up to grab a whiteboard.
"Absolutely not." Savannah said almost instantly, "Forgetting all that was probably the best thing to ever happen to me. I'm not going to take away the gift my brain so graciously gave me."
Lyra turned to Savannah, "You know, forgetting isn't always a good thing. One trigger word and all that come back."
Gigi hummed, "So the next time this inevitably happens, lets try to not bring our lovers into this. Because that seems to be a theme that keeps occurring."
"No, I quite like making this other people's problem. Thats why I keep doing it," Savannah said sarcastically, turning to Gigi annoyed.
"I didn't mean it like that!" Gigi glared at her sister, "I'm just saying let's keep it in the family next time."
"Oh my god, that sounds awful. Never talk again."
"Sav, I love you. Go burn."
"It's not my fault what you said was weird!"
"Yes it is your fault. Because I wouldnt have said what I said if you didn't say what you said."
Lyra felt her head throb in confusion as she turned to instead make her way to the kitchen in the apartment.
Savannah and Gigi continued arguing even as Lyra poured herself a glass of juice.
It seems to be one of those days Savannah and Gigi just wouldn't be getting along.
She frowned as she took a sip of her drink, looking at Gigi, "Geeg, whats in this juice?"
"Hm? Oh, I wanted to try this drink I found online, it has apple juice, vodka-"
Lyra groaned, pushing the glass away, "Who does that?!"
"No one told you to go in my fridge without asking," Gigi huffed, her voice leaking the pettyness Lyra recognized in her own voice sometimes.
Oh my God, they've hung around each other too much.
"Grow up," Savannah said, annoyed.
Gigi hit Savannah with a pillow, "You're so annoying."
Lyra stared at the glass in front of her. They really did need to stop getting blackout drunk around eachother.
A/N: Idk, I think this is where it was supposed to end? It could've had more to it, but I can't remember anymore so this is what we got. It sounds like the ending, so I think its the ending.

I'm actually so lost right now 😭 I thought I caught up but somehow I'm even more lost than before. Istg tgb is about to be my version of Love Island with how messy this book is starting to look
At this point JLB is treating the grandest game less like a proper spin off and more like an extended the inheritance games epilogue and that's a structural issue that can't really be ignored.
The truth is that a spin off is supposed to shift the narrative weight onto a new cast and allow them to carry the story on their own terms, but when the focus keeps drifting back to original protagonists like Jameson and Avery, it creates a clear imbalance in storytelling priorities, instead of the new characters fully taking over, they end up sharing space with characters whose stories have already been explored and whose arcs have largely reached their conclusions.
From a critical standpoint, that weakens the identity of the series. A spin off should feel like a progression, not a continuation disguised under a different label. If OG characters continue receiving POVs and significant emotional focus, the narrative stops functioning as a true fresh start and begins to feel more like bonus material for the original trilogy.
The issue isn't that the original characters appear, it's how much narrative authority they still hold. Page time is not neutral, it's an allocation of importance. So when completed characters continue to dominate attention, it signals that the story is relying on familiarity rather than fully committing to building something new.
And that's where the criticism becomes valid: it can start to feel as though the spin off doesn't trust its own new characters enough to let them lead without support from established fan favorites. Instead of pushing the universe forward, it keeps orbiting around what has already worked.
So in other words, it doesn't fully read as a new chapter in the universe it reads as though the original story hasn't quite finished speaking yet.
we should just name it the grandest game: the inheritance games unofficial epilogue
My opinion on Jameson getting a POV is that it makes me question the purpose of the spin off. From a critical perspective, Jameson's story was already told. He had four books dedicated to his character, I know his development wasn't the best but his arc reached its conclusion, meanwhile some of the new characters haven't even received the same level of attention yet.
The harsh truth is that stories should move forward. A spin off exists to expand a universe through new perspectives, not to keep circling back to characters whose journeys have already been completed. When an author continues giving protagonist level attention to an old lead, it can sometimes suggest a lack of confidence in the newer cast.
What stands out to me is the imbalance, if Lyra, Gigi and Rohan were marketed as the center of the series, then they should be receiving THE majority of the narrative investment, a POV is one of the strongest signals of importance in a story. Giving one to Jameson inevitably shifts attention away from characters who are still trying to establish themselves.
From a criticism standpoint, it also risks making the spin off feel dependent on the original trilogy, a strong spin off should be able to stand on its own merits. If readers constantly need to return to the original protagonists for emotional investment, then the new characters isn't being allowed to fully take ownership of the story.
The critical question isn't "is Jameson interesting?" Of course he is, he was the lead of an entire trilogy. The question is whether revisiting his perspective adds something essential or whether it's simply easier than fully committing to the characters this series was originally supposed to be about.
And I know some of you will say "but Grayson is also an OG character and a main character from the original trilogy'', the difference is that Grayson was OPENLY promoted as one of the main characters of the spin off from THE BEGINNING. Whether I enjoyed his POV or not is irrelevant, his narrative importance was established before the books were released. It wasn't a surprise because the marketing and the story itself positioned him as a major player.
Jameson, on the other hand, wasn't presented that way, that's why his POV feels different. The issue isn't that an original character got a POV, the issue is that a character whose arc was already completed is seemingly being elevated into a larger narrative role in a series that was advertised as focusing on other characters. Those are two very different situations.
And honestly, part of the problem is that some readers don't seem to distinguish between liking a character and analyzing a story. They see their favorite character get more page time and immediately treat it as a good writing decision but critical reading requires asking whether a choice benefits the narrative as a whole, not just whether it gives fans more content of a character they already love. Popularity can explain a decision but it doesn't automatically justify it. If readers only evaluate stories through the lens of their favorite characters, then they're not really engaging with the structure, themes, or purpose of the story, they're engaging with fandom.
I find it kind of funny how this new series is supposed to follow Gigi, Lyra, and Rohan yet somehow Jameson is the one that ends up with a gold card 😒
The kind of greed they talk about in the Bible, damn rich people- 🙄
Actual Rant Below: Read at your own risk. I don't want hate for an opinion.
On an actual more serious note though. It's not that funny, it's honestly kind of sad. And I know it's such a small thing to be complaining about, the book isn't even out yet, why am I complaining, she could release gold cards for them later.
I am saying all this with the idea in mind that she won't be giving gold cards to Lyra, Rohan, and Gigi.
Idgaf that I sound like an ungrateful brat for what I'm about to say. I know I do. I know I should be greatful that we're getting cards to begin with and that jlb is doing this for us even though she's not required to. I am happy she does this kind of thing for us. I honestly am. But I'm allowed to be disappointed that the 3 main characters who I genuinely love so so much aren't getting the attention they should be.
Giving Jameson a gold card and not giving the Lyra, Rohan, and Gigi gold cards would genuinely be crazy work. I don't care what your feelings are towards Jameson or the main characters. There is one thing that remains a fact no matter what side of the argument you're on, and it is that the main characters of this new series are Lyra, Gigi, and Rohan.
Idgaf if Jameson's first card is ugly (which tbh it was fine in my opinion but whatever. I lowkey liked it more than this one. I never really understood the hate towards the first one.)
If jlb doesn't end up releasing cards for the 3 characters this series actually follows I'm gonna crash out. Giving Jameson a gold card only makes sense if you give the other 3 POV holding characters a gold card as well. Thats the only justifiable reason to give him a new card.
Istg giving Maxine, Rebecca, Zara, etc. cards even when they don't show up in this book would've made more sense then giving Jameson a new card. This is the final book of the series, releasing cards for the remaining characters in this universe makes sense.
Genuinely istg if I see a gold card for Avery, Nash, Xander, Grayson, etc. AND NOT ONE FOR THE THREE MAIN CHARACTERS OF THIS BOOK I'm gonna crash out.
Yes I'm including Grayson in this list. I don't care that hes technically a main character by extension of Lyra. This isn't his series, him getting a gold card while Gigi, Rohan, and Lyra don't would also be insane.
I’m spam posting bc today is literally my only free hour before I have to go back to trying to graduate while I wonder if it’s all worth it.
I’ve recently begun watching criminal minds, and I was thinking about the tig show. I thought of two things:
1) How funny would it be if we got a filler episode where it’s just one of the Hawthorne brothers taking a side quest and accidentally becoming apart of the fbi. Or someone thinking Jameson committed a crime, and while Jameson committed a crime he didn’t create THAT crime. So he helps them find out who really did it to prove his innocence.
2) The more important of the two, I need Max and Xander to just be super flirty with each other before they get together. Like they both cover up their nervousness around one another through Garcia & Morgan kinda flirting. Like you know how funny it would be if Avery were to walk in a room with Max and they just start dirty talking to each other then are like “we’re just friends.” I’m CRAVING Xanmax development. CRAVING.
As a former gacha kid, anytime I see something about Grayson referring to himself as “broken” I cant help but laugh. I’m sorry, it’s a reflex, I literally can NOT take that word seriously anymore when used in that context 😭😭😭
Honestly I have mixed feelings about Jameson getting a pov. At this point all I can do is just appreciate the fact that the chances of it being Libby or Toby that says “shes my Avery, too” are a lot higher. Like the chances of the og cast (NOT GRAYSON) talking to Jameson and saying that is a lot higher now that we know we have his pov.
Now I just pray jlb isn’t messy and it still ends up being Grayson-
Like I might actually jump off a cliff while wishing this blonde boy never gets laid Sabrina Carpenter style I’m not even kidding.
