< prev asked about resources for effectively and safely [to the greatest extent possible] doing direct action and I DO have resources
I have this post on assessing protest risk. this post is geared towards people who want to avoid higher risk levels but it can still be relevant to people who are open to riskier protests/actions as it's important to know what you're getting into
I also have this post on the basics of black bloc. on top of this I recommend these: x x x zines on black bloc. black bloc is a very effective tactic when used properly. it works well to keep people safe when others are also doing it. being a lone person in black bloc is its own danger because it results in the exact opposite of your goal- it makes you easy to single out. show up with a crew and/or an expectation that others will also be in black bloc
in general I really like sprout distro for compact information on direct action tactics. I don't agree with everything there but the majority of what I have read has been really solid. it's brief and to the point while staying very informative.
in general my big tips are:
know your personal limits/cut off point for how far you're willing to escalate
