I saw @oldestcharm’s fantastic and hilarious art post “1st Class Transportation” last week and leapt at the chance to write a fic inspired by it! (Let’s call it an unofficial @00qreversebang pinch-hit.)

I hope you enjoy this classic/campy James Bond mission fic, featuring grumpy ostriches, mountain lairs, sexy rival agents, and a quartermaster listening-in on all Bond’s shenanigans!

Story: Pinky Promise by Only_1_Truth

When M tells James to take a vacation and make something for himself to go home to other than alcohol and sex, 007 is not enthused. The closest thing he had to a home was Skyfall Lodge, and even he had to admit that it was incredibly old and needed updating for it to be livable and safe. When Trevelyan steps in to say that he knows a bloke who can rig up security systems, however - and is discreet besides - James decides to accept some professional help.

But despite being an MI6 assassin-spy who's seen just about everything, James isn't prepared for the distrustful, aloof boffin who turns up on his doorstep, full of exactly the sort of thing agents couldn't get enough of: secrets and surprises. Q isn't a mission, though, so it will be up to James to figure out how to deal with (and maybe, just maybe, get close to) this posh young man without hurting him worse than he already is.

Summary: London isn’t as safe for his heart as James Bond had assumed. While James is away on a mission, Q gets badly injured in an accident. To everyone’s surprise—including Q!—James volunteers to move into the quartermaster’s flat and assist with the first week of his convalescence. Their time alone together will test James’s acting skills and his resolve; can James conceal his deep feelings from Q? Or will Q finally catch on to James Bond’s secret?

Art: “One for Malice, Two for Mirth, Three for Death, and Four for Rebirth” by Only_1_Truth

Story: One for Malice by Flantastic

Summary:

Familiars find their humans soon after their birth and are thought to represent that person’s soulmate. Thomas ‘Q’ Carter’s parents never understood why their son attracted a large wolf like Beelzebub. Meanwhile James Bond has spent his whole life accompanied by his tenacious barn owl, Archimedes.

When James is sent on a simple mission to observe a man recently added to MI6’s watch list, Lyutsifer Safin, he discovers that an ex-MI6 employee Q is being held captive by him.

James is ordered to get Q back to London, but he soon begins to believe that there is more to Q than meets the eye.

The art prompts we're previewing are all so amazing! I don't know how I'm going to pick a favorite. Currently caught in a three-way-tie, what to do, what to do!

They are fabulous! Our artists did a wonderful job.

2022 00Q Reverse Big Bang!

Hello, all you lovely 00Q Folks!

It has been a bit of a difficult year(s) for many of us including your Friendly 00QRBB Moderator, who did not get the challenge sorted on schedule late last summer as she should have.

Anyhoo, I am getting back at it and would like to announce that the 00Q Reverse Big Bang! is happening in 2022 with sign-ups to start March 5th!

The challenge will be a bit longer this year starting in March and ending in November during the Tenth Anniversary of the release of Skyfall (2012) and the start of the “Bloody Big Ship!”

I am currently working to update the 00Q RBB websites and forms, so please be patient all will be open on Saturday, March 5th for signing up for the challenge. In the meantime here is the 2022 Schedule for your perusal.

Artists and Writers! Email Gremlins Have Struck!

Dear Artists and Writers:

If you have signed up, you should all receive a Welcome Letter from your’s truly Chestnut NOLA (aka The Nut).

It seems some of our participants have not received their letters even though they were sent. Please check your spam folders, otherwise if you can’t find it please email me at [email protected] and I’ll reply to you directly.

The Welcome Letter process is not automatic, so sometimes it takes me a day or two to get them out. :)

Artist sign-ups are now closed and I know our participating artists are working hard for the challenge.

There’s still time to sign-up as a Writer. Sign-ups will close at the end of the month, April 30th.

I’m sorry you haven’t received your welcome letter. I did check and it was sent on March 7th. I have just forwarded it to you, so you should receive it.
