It's so weird to me how many people misunderstand that denji is a sexual assault victim. He was raised in extreme poverty with basicallly no interaction with woman or people his own age. Then the first woman he meets literally is grooming him and he doesn't even realize it cause he's never had someone be nice to him like that. Not to mention the scenes with both himeno and yoru literally SA him. The fandom needs to do better.
i really dislike when people talk about the killing/ordering the execution of penelope in any timeline. we're told very clearly that her deaths happen because the 5 male leads fall for laila's deceptions. the duke clearly gives laila preferential treatment (giving her the magic stone mine after penelope's birthday was ruined), but that's likely because the laila can intensify his love and guilt for ivonne. there is nothing to suggest that he treats penelope poorly (i mean more than the constant neglect that had already been occurring for 6 years) specifically after ivonne's return.
in fact, what we do know for a fact is that the duke is the only person in the cast who loved original penelope. the laila doesn't brainwash people, she can only manipulate what already exists within them, so she can't just force him to hate penelope when that would oppose his preexisting love for her. it just makes no sense for him to be turned against her.

Dude this movie was just amazing. The visuals were stunning. The character designs were also amazing. Their character development was so good as well. It wasn't over sexualized and they even took their makeup off in a couple of scenes.
This movie managed to be just so silly. It made me laugh and I was having a good time watching it. It also managed to tear me apart at some points. These characters are not portrayed as these perfect super heros. They are portrayed as human and I loved that.
All in all this movie was amazing and I would totally recommend.
