ARE WE FUCKING SERIOUS
Yes, this is real.
Not to sound fucking alarmist, but uhhhhhh if Trump forcing immigrants to wear yellow insignias wasn’t enough of an alarm bells for you, maybe this is.
When you read the article, you learn the Mexican government is the one numbering the asylum seekers first on their side of the border, and then transferring those numbers to the US government.
Mexico has a concentration camp with numbered people in it, in Juarez, of people who want to come to the United States. Mexico is aiding and abetting US fascism and racism.
The Grupos Beta officers, who refer questions from reporters to their superiors, each clutch a clipboard holding several sheets of lined paper, which they appear to be double- and triple-checking meticulously. It’s unclear whether this version of the list contains the names of the migrants, each of whom has an identifying number written in black permanent marker on the inside of their wrists.
Including children.
These organized drop-offs have become a regular occurrence at the Paso del Norte over the past few weeks, ever since Mexican authorities began removing hundreds of asylum seekers from the bridges between Juarez and El Paso, where they’d previously been camped out. The encampments emerged over the summer, after CBP began placing officers in the middle of the international bridges to block those without documentation from proceeding to the port of entry — forcing asylum seekers to wait on the Mexican side for permission to cross. Earlier this month, Mexican officials ordered all those camped out on the bridges between Juarez and El Paso to relocate to la Casa del Migrante, a Catholic-run migrant shelter located approximately 30 minutes away from the Paso del Norte by car.
According to various advocates and others who observed the situation on the bridges over the summer, it was volunteers with the Mexican Red Cross who first created a waiting list to help maintain order within the encampments as asylum seekers waited for their turn to cross. The list was then transferred to the Casa del Migrante along with the asylum seekers, when they were forced to move there in November. Accounts vary on when, exactly, and with whom, the practice of tracking migrants with numbers on their arms originated, but it has now become a part of the process for all who wish to seek asylum at one of the U.S. ports of entry in El Paso.
15 Organizations Who Could Use Some Words and What to Tell Them
TIME published an article in June of 15 organizations who are doing business with ICE.
If you would like to do something like, oh, choose to flood them with letters to inform them why you would be boycotting their services, their addresses happen to be:

Writing can be a little hard, but here’s a sample to go with:
I am writing to request that your company ends its contract with I.C.E. I am deeply concerned that ____[insert organization name here]___ is implicated, by providing infrastructure and services that enable the U.S.’s increasingly inhumane treatment of refugees and immigrants by I.C.E. and the Department of Homeland Security. I.C.E. has used your goods and services to terrorize communities and divide families across this country. I will no longer spend money for your goods or services until your business stands for the good of all people, regardless of documentation. Thank you for your time, [Your Name]
No matter what, you want to
Avoid swearing
Make it clear they are losing money and why
Do a personal story only if their HQ, therefore many of their employees, are local
Nothing longer than my sample, probably even shorter. Aim for postcard size
Send a LOT. Get your friends, neighbors, family, make a flood with a lot of different names
!!!IMPORTANT FOR BLACK US VOTERS!!!
I saw this on Facebook and went to check my registration status, sure it was fine because I voted recently, but I put in the info and it said I’m not registered
PLEASE, especially if you’re a Black voter, check your registration status at vote.org
Hundreds of kids eligible for reunification remain separated from their parents.
We’ll be back in court this afternoon and we’re prepared to make many more appearances until the families wrongfully separated are united.
Also if you think you will have issues getting to the polls on election day, check into getting an absentee ballot ahead of time.
You wanna be an ally? You wanna “punch Nazis?” Keep reading. Look, people. This is fucking serious. Please read.
We aren’t glitter bombing Nazis. We aren’t throwing flour on them. We definitely aren’t going to peacefully shut them down. They want to kill us, they said so in Charlottesville. They made it very clear where they stand and how they plan on taking action. Their violence needs to be met with great force.
If you are not down to physically fight these fuckers, please stay off the front lines. You’ll get hurt and your pacifism will be a liability, resulting in others being hurt. Run support. We need more support.
-Go to a street medic training -Run jail support -If you’re good at using the internet (as in better than average), learn how to securely (and correctly) doxx these people. -If you’re a creative type, write a zine about anti-fascism -If you’re EMT trained, HOST a street medic training -Become a legal observer through the National Lawyers Guild -Set up letter writing events to send to political prisoners -There’s a lot of parents who want to fight but can’t because of their kids, watch their kids for them -If you can cook, organize food drives/pot lucks for the larger demonstrations. -Help people in more counseling/therapy ways. -Help get needed supplies, such as food, water, and medical supplies. -When organizing, inclusivity is not optional, and is mandatory to win. -Listen to the concerns of those most effected.
Add any extra support jobs you think of.
Also, since we’re talking about dealing with nazis and the far-right here, friendly reminder that the Charlottesville rally will repeat this year in the capital, organized by the same person, on the anniversary of Charlottesville, whilst he’s also suing the town for not letting him organize his rally there.
So keep all this in mind when you march against them again this August 12 folks!

Actionable things !!!
"Grump” appears in three episodes spanning decades — sowing fear and chaos and inspiring a political march down Sesame Street.
this is what radical political comedic satire looks like
im Here for publicly funded jokes at his expense
Anyway, here’s how to donate to Sesame Street and support PBS with donations. Talking about how awesome a thing is can be great if you also take action to support it.
PLEASE SUPPORT SESAME STREET
30 Antifa Actions
For our 4th anniversary in June 2018, we posted a different anti-fascist action every day, partly in response to the flood of questions we get from people that want to take antifa action but aren’t sure just what to do. Each one was something we reported on at some point over the last four years and most of them are actions that anyone could pull off anywhere, no matter their age or (dis)abilities. Democratic state Rep. Janelle Bynum was visiting voters in her district on July 3. The legislator says one of them thought she was casing the neighborhood and called law enforcement.
“When they go low, we go high, and I went as high as I could”: “Lady of Liberty” Therese Patricia Okoumou speaks out
Okoumou, a naturalized citizen, was released on her own recognizance today, July 5, after being arrested yesterday for climbing to the foot of the Statue of Liberty. Her attorney, Rhiya Trivedi, is representing her pro bono. She will be back in court August 3.
Here is Okoumou’s full statement:
Good afternoon everyone, thank you for being here. It’s been a rough 24 hours for me and some of you. I wanna thank Rise and Resist [crowd cheering] for their dedication in the work that they do, for their support for equality and social justice.
As you know by now I am from the Republic of Congo. I came in this country 1994.
I also wanna thank the United States Park Police, more specifically Officer D'Alessandro, they’ve been very very wonderful to me. Talking about respect, courtesy, professionalism, I think the NYPD can learn something or two from them, from the United States Park Police.
Michelle Obama, our beloved First Lady that I care so much about, said “When they go low, we go high,” and I went as high as I could. [laughter and cheers]
Trump has wrecked this country apart. It is depressing, it is outrageous. I can say a lot of things about this monster, but I will stop at this: His draconian zero-tolerance policy on immigration has to go. In a democracy we do not rip children — we do not put children in cages. Period. There is no debating it. Nothing you can say to me will justify putting children in cages. Only a stupid unintelligent coward, an insecure — I will add a maniac — will rip a tender-age child from its mother. Reunite the children now. Thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen.
It seems that Okoumou is not in need of donations for now, and there are no official funding campaigns set up for her now, but if that changes I will post that information as soon as possible. You can also follow Rise and Resist on Twitter for more updates.
Love didn’t trump hate… so now it’s time to smash the State
Put down your safety pins and pick up a brick

Here’s a call script for your Senators and/or representatives - scroll down to “Tell your members of Congress: Condemn the Trump administration’s separation of families.” This is especially important if you live in a red state. Trump is trying to claim that the separation of families is due to a “law” enacted by Democrats - there is no such law. This is a Trump administration policy. It’s important for Republicans to know we don’t believe his lies, and that we know exactly who is responsible for this. Calling Democratic members of Congress helps, too - even if they already support keeping families together at the border, it will help to continue to encourage them to take action.
The bill is S.3036, the Keep Families Together Act. You can read it here.
