Haven't drawn or played much these days so here goes worldbuilding rant i've been meaning to post XD
so as i've mentioned in the pinned intro i've been working on creating my perfect ts3 warrior cats challenge world
after doing this challenge for quite some time ive come to fully understand my prefered play style which is highly dependent on the world i play in and how much... i struggle with customizing the existing and custom made worlds
not as in its difficult but its limiting in the things i can and can't do
more specifically ~~ in most worlds there's not enough free unused space due to cities taking a lot and if there seems to be more its either locked or the terrain just wont allow placing custom lots and as much as i love arbor vale for its emptyness, the lack of streets deletes one of the most nervewracking challenges of the challenge as in ewading those bloody cars xdd
so i took it upon myself to learn the mystical create a world
and i actually managed to make one ... it has a lot of issues xdd (one is on the picture above) but they are just a learning experience
its too big as i used the large preset, i place a lot of decor and trees and enjoy having a lot of npc like badgers and rouges and with the mods i use and the general heavyness of the game my computer just can't handle all that xd
the city is a mess, i had no idea how hard it is to plan a city so i reworked it a lot of times with some lots being alredy placed and it lead to them um... flooding xd
the spacing beetween clans is too big for my prefrence
i will be posting screens on some other occasion from that world as despite all that there are quite a few things im proud of
and the birds view does't look all that bad xd
as i said the large preset is too big so the next try will be on the medium one which is around 15 64x64 lots and 1 30x30 lot wide, yes i measure them with the largest lot size available
but that size comes with its own issues
i'm quite a greedy person, ideally i would like to have in a world
a farms for sheep, cows and horses as well as barn cats and dogs
four distinct terrytories fo the cats
a fully functional city so you could play normally on it as well if you feel like it, but mostly for house pets to roam around and perhaps even storyline for cats to wonder through the city for some reason
a river with bridges and an area somewhat based on stepping stones (i somewhat figured how to make one) so cats can walk across it as well as a swampy area as it one of the things i made once and want to recreate because it is very pretty
mountains and a beach area where difrent npc colonies reside (i really want tribe cats in the mountains)
especially since i prefer the clans to be close to each other to make sure theres as much random interactions and invasions as possible so that the borders change from time to time
i've come to realize that for that to be the case the perfect setup of lots is a small lot, i use 40x40 because decor takes space, for the camp, honestly the smaller the better cause it makes the cats leave camp more often by themselves to hunt insted of hunting in the nursery so often and at least one 64x64 for terrytory because its the best size for hunting patrols, and the full moon meeting spot is also 64x64 for obvious reasons, space is key for good pictures xd
but i also like to add territory specific places like big trees or abandoned houses, dino bones (yes they exist in the game i love them) and the like so through rough calculations i'm left with..
not much free space or at least it feels like it
so yeah i just wanted to share some thoughts so that the blog doesn't feel so left out
i will be trying to work on more art later this week as i would love to go back to telling the story of Spot and Little one but i must show them kits of meadowclan firts
