sorry i’m reblogging this again but this just makes me so fucking angry. this reminds me of those dudes running game of thrones who had virtually no experience and were allowed to just. treat a multimillion dollar franchise as their little fuck-around-and-learn-about-tv sandbox. why are white men with no credentials allowed to get away with this over and over again while the rest of us have to fight tooth and nail for literal crumbs. i fucking hate the entertainment industry

Hey friends! Just a reminder since it seems the spam bots are making a resurgence in my neck of the internets. If you follow me and have either a completely blank blog, a blog that looks like it's full of porn or attractive women with "links" to other sites, or there's just something suspicious about your username, I'm going to report you. And I know there's a lot of new people coming here from all the other sinking ships and you don't know what "the norm" is here, so here's a quick primer for those only here to browse. Username: Pick something that tells me something about you, or is at least coherentish. If it's something like holly34542 (femme name plus string of numbers) or eycodfys (not quite a key-smash but definitely just random letters) people here are immediately suspicious. If you're going to do this, make sure you adhere to the points below. Empty blog: I get that you might just be here to browse but it helps others know you're a real person if you reblog something. Or post some stuff. Anything. Bonus points if it's like... a coherent interest like a bunch of pictures from MCU movies or some recipes or poems or pictures of baby farm animals. And bonus points if it's not all from the same blog. And look... I'm not down on porn. I love porn. But believe me, if all your top posts are naked women shot for the male gaze, I'm not gonna look too close and will just skip straight to reporting you. Empty about field: Look. You don't have to put anything identifying there. Just put a random Emily Dickinson poem, or some song lyrics, or just the statement of "yes my blog is empty. I'm a twitter refugee who's just here to browse." But it being totally empty. Or just your name. Or god forbid your name, location, and age. Big red flags. Following but not reblogging or liking anything: We don't bite. Interact with some of my posts and I'm less likely to think you just followed me at random. Also... just send me a message that's like "hi... I'm not a bot! I like your blog!" That works just fine. I'm also a fandom/internet hermit and am happy to leave you alone and be left alone. And look... it's not that any one of these will get you blocked and reported. On their own, each of these is innocuous, but together they make a pattern that Tumblrites all know as "porn or scam bot" and a lot of us just block on sight. Cheers friends!

Okay, so I just saw a tiktok saying "hey, ao3 is not tiktok. Do not censor words, especially in the tags." I stg people are losing brain cells. The tiktoker then proceeded to show an example of the tag they saw which was:

"s..cidal ideation"

I don't know who needs to, once again, hear this, but you are stopping the tagging system, and filtration system from working.

People censor words on platforms like tiktok to stop the algorithm from picking up their video and automatically taking it down or restricting it.

A tagging system works so that other people can easily filter the content they do and don't want to see. So if some had "suicidal ideation" in their filtered tags so that they won't see things containing that subject matter, by censoring the word suicidal, you have now stopped the tagging/filtration system from working and now the individual is going to see content that they had made sure to filter out.

Please stop censoring words and/or phrases. Especially in tags. You are literally stopping the system from working and doing its job. Ao3 (and Tumblr) is not tiktok. The tags are there for a reason. Don't censor them.

i think villains in general provide better, more epic romances because they're allowed to go to extremes. they're allowed to put their love over the greater good. they're allowed to be selfish. the best a hero can offer you is number two, because their duty comes first. villains, though. villains will burn down the world for a last kiss goodbye.

Yea, sure. Until YOU or people you love are among the victims for someone else’s love and the villains won’t care. Would also like to point out that some villians(Kuvira, for example) have been willing to sacrifice/throw away love interests for their own goals.
