So you want to talk about Injuries/Wounds/Fatigue? Part 2
Okay so usually describing wounds / or what the character feels during this is way more than “blood/pain/blood/ouch/hurts”.
Describing the atmosphere according to the character.
– They might feel dizzy, their vision starts to deteriorate/ ground sways under their feet/ light gets brighter/ dark spots/ etc etc
– Fatigue /\ /\ /\
– Their body will/might start to feel extreme temperatures // could be a sign of infection // but not necessarily, feeling extremely hot and sweaty and nauseous or sticky, that kind of stuff.
– Automatically your body will try to press or cover the wound; your palms will probably press against it to stop or block bleeding etc.
– Eyes rolling up that movie kind of shit - might happen though.
– Your character might -
- gasp / grunt / groan / moan
- hiss / yelp / scream / shriek / wail
– Their muscles will probably tense and they’ll clench their teeth too.
ALSO even after they’ve recovered or still are recovering mention the wound; describe how you character has to sit uncomfortable, describe how your chracter needs someone to take care of him, describe how you character can’t take a bath on his own and curses because they can’t screw the cap of a jar open, describe how every time they use a gun their shoulder shifts uncomfortably and they need to start their combat abilities from scratch again.
Here are less/not that fatal injuries that can still be ‘part of the story’ but the character will try to hide it and continue on with whatever it is they’re doing –
- bruises / scratches
- being pierced by neighboring rubble or as a form of torture - figure that out yourself
- trauma
- burns/// this is a really interesting injury tbh
- dislocated joints
- sprained/twisted ankles or wrists
- not an injury but they’ll probably try to hide tiredness/fatigue
ta-da that’s it really ! hope this helped
