Chrysos Maids! Because I needed something lighthearted after all the Everything of the trailblaze missions
stop using the word degenerate i am going to kill u
dont use it to refer to urself. dont ever refer to others with it i will chew your flesh from your bones. look up the nazi use of "degenerate" and "degeneracy", research the "degenerate art" exhibition and fucking think abt the history of that word b4 u use it to make a funny little joke about being so weird. fucking come on
ultimately my point is 1. do your research and 2. if you refer to actual people as subhuman then you are rapidly approaching facist ideology, if not already at your wretched destination. i don't really talk about this stuff on my blog because i am not as well versed as i should be, but i made this post because the adoption of phrases like these really makes me angry (especially when it's "ironic". you know that it won't be for long). to imply that someone isn't a person but a thing carving away at society, that there is a "true/upright/pure" way of being human, that the mere existence of others is tearing away your own quality of life? this shit often leads to the belief that these types of people, these "degenerates", are actually not people and do not deserve respect or a right to being alive. we know what happens with beliefs like these. there is so much history of hatred and suffering and slow systematic stripping of rights behind that word. please do your research
i need you all to cut it out and stop using words that refer to people, any people, as subhuman or less than everyone else. stop being annoying on my fucking post. there are no good excuses. you know the useage of the word that i mean already

Marylanders don’t say hi hello how are you my name is they just try to kill you with their car. which is of course a great honor in their culture
In Northern Virginia the country of my birth people kill you with their car because you deserve it. sic semper tyrannis
If your lover lives in Hong Kong and cannot get to Chicago, it will be necessary for you to go to Hong Kong. Perhaps you will spend your life there, and never see Chicago again. And you will, I assure you, as long as space and time divide you from anyone you love, discover a great deal about shipping routes, airlines, earthquake, famine, disease, and war. And you will always know what time it is in Hong Kong, for you love someone who lives there. And love will simply have no choice but to go into battle with space and time and, furthermore, to win.

I have noticed. People tend to talk about sperm cells like they are sentient beings. Now I am no expert in human reproduction but I think I can confidently say that. They are not. They are cells. They are not "fighting" to get to the egg cell. They have no thoughts or emotions or personalities. They're cells. Additionally many people seem to think the way reproductuon works is that the sperm cells all race to get to the egg cell and the biggest strongest fastest sperm cell (because remember sperm cells have the same personalities and attributes as the people they end up creating) gets to fertilise the egg cell which is not ever viewed as sentient and just exists to passively get penetrated and fertilised which I think also shows how people view human reproduction and sex in general which is worrying but not surprising honestly
I think yall would be interested in Emily Martin's article "The Egg and the Sperm," which is about precisely this topic. There's a lot of good stuff in there, and it's not too long so I highly recommend reading it for yourself. I'll summarize a few points here:
Even scientists' biological descriptions of sperm and egg are heavily affected by cultural ideas of masculinity and femininity. Scientific papers will describe sperm with language like "penetrating" and "strong," while eggs get described as passive, damsels in distress awaiting "rescue" (fertilization, ick).
This is despite a significant body of research showing that this is not how things actually work biologically, with the forward thrust of the sperm actually being "extremely weak," and more likely to escape from cells than "penetrate" them. Instead, the surface of the egg traps and adheres to the sperm tightly. Only after the egg surface orients the sperm to the right place, can the sperm then actually release digestive enzymes to soften the barrier to the egg.
But even the research that describes this incongruity with cultural ideas of gender still uses very gendered language describing the sperm as the active party and the egg as the passive one, despite literally talking about how the sperm and egg are "mutually active partners."
The author ends by talking about we have to be careful about what cultural ideas we are perpetuating with our biological presentations of the egg and sperm, because when we don't realize that's what we're doing, it leads to a sort of self-fulfilling prophecy, where we believe that our social ideas of gender are backed up by the biological science, when really it was the other way around. Also, by ascribing personhood to these cells, we are also paving the way for them to be seen as people, affecting the rights of people who carry fetuses.
There's also a lot of interesting stuff about menstruation and how that's viewed as a "waste," while sperm overproduction is somehow "remarkable" instead. Lot of good stuff, for anyone interested.
we fucking knew it. vindication. also phil babe what happened to the flash drive...
