#PETULANT
Ptulant persons are everywhere. They cry about everything. Mostly they are brats. If they don't get what they want they will get so annoyed or irritated to point of screaming, crying etc. They are persons with self control problems. Such a waist of time they are.

The prisioner doesn't care who makes his bail,
He is stuck in there forever, poor Tom, he is,
He looks back at what he did that terrible night,
Tom, No! Tom, No!
He is stuck in there forever, poor Tom, he is.
We watch the puppet show to spot the strings,
We don't want to see the show,
We just want to watch the strings,
Up and down, Far and away,
I don't see any puppets,
Hey! Look at the strings.

“In every school I´ve gone to all the athletic bastards stick together”
Holden Caulfield.
Catcher in the Rye.Chaper 6,page 43.
MOTIFS IN CATCHER IN THE RYE
As you investigate the significance of the motif you selected, use the following guiding questions to frame your research, and to help you form conclusions:
1. Is the motif a noun?verb?adjectibe? Motif is a noun.
2. How does it come up in the novel, and how does it impact what is going on? What happens immediately preceding or immediately following a mention or discussion of this motif? At the begginig of the book Holden actually talks about how he hates football. He is the captain of the fencing team. He hates athletics, and he enjoys checkers.
3. What is the mood when this idea or thing is brought up? Would you associate this with times when Holden is content? frightened? frantic? confused? Is this mood consistent with every incidence of this motif? Well for example, when he talks about football he seems very angry and like if the word "football" annoyed him. Fencing is like if he doesnt really care. He plays it and all, but he doesnt really put much importance to it. He really like checkers. Since its a game of small details. He is a very judjeable guy so he likes little games like those.
4. Is Holden alone when this motif occurs? If not, with whom is he interacting? How would you charac- terize that interaction? Does this motif occur both when he is alone and when he is with other people? Is there a connection to be made? Well, at the very beggining when he is talking about the football game, he is alone analyzing it. In fencing, he is with the team and all. And in Checkers he is with Jane. He kind of gets in a better moode when he talks about Jane and checkers. When he thinks of both togather.
5. What does this motif tell you about Holden, in a “big picture” way - Does this suggest anything about his personality? His weaknesses or strengths? His sense of himself? Yeah. I personally think tahat he is a very detail looking guy. He wants perfection in other people. He doesnt like games that doesnt include more intime interaction. Not like football which is more phisicall. He likes games in which you can study the other person. He likes to judge a lot. Thaths a weakness that he has. But that gives him the strenght to know very well how people are.
6. Tie it all together: Did any pattern emerge? Pick out other words or ideas used in conjunction with this motif. Look back on your investigation and come up with a single sentence that sums up what you’ve discovered. Write three or four more sentences supporting your thesis sentence. Use references from the novel, and form an opinion of your own. Yes. Holden always like the important details. Thats why he enjoys checkers. But for example when he is watching the football game at the hill, he is completley alone. And what is he doing? He is judging and trying to find an error to everyone and everything. He always puts the word "phony" in the book. Well maybe he is the phony. I think he has to put more attention to him and not so much to others.

Stream of Concisness-Monsters
In a small village lived three little pigs. Theyr names were: Porky, Piggy, and Raf. The three little brothers were neighbors. They lived in peace and harmony. But one day the village founds out that a creature was entering villages to eat anything that he saw. So the three pigs decided that they were going to build a house to protect them.
The first pig decided to build a house of hay. The second one decided to build his of plastic. And the third and last pig built his house of bricks. Three days later the village heard on the news that the creature was only two villages away. They could even hear the people of the other village screaming in terror. With no sought at all the pigs went into their houses, waiting for the massacre.
It was only 45 minutes later when they herd him. And the pig in the hay house could see him approaching him. He was shaking, and wishing that he was already dead. The other two pigs saw him to. They ran quickly to the hay house and tried
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CONFORMIST AND BEING A PHONY?
A conformist is a person who lives by society´s rules. A conformist dresses like society wants him to dress, for instance if he likes wearing jackets, but society or a group, expects him to wear sweaters,he would wear sweaters just to fit in.
In the same way,he wouldn´t mind changing his behavior in order to be accepted by the group.
A phony is a person, who is not sincere, someone who lies and lives a very superficial life.A phony doesn´t worry about what other people think and doesn´t try to fit in.
A conformist learns to adapt while a phony is just a hypocrite.
Mr. Haas is a phony for Holden.
JUST THE WAY I LIKED IT
Holden’s hunting hat means a lot to him. What have you noticed about it? [ consider: Which way does he like it? How does he act when it is to the back?]
Write all about Holden’s Hat: Explain how Holden got his hat. Write about the many different ways he wears it and what each way means Discuss the color Discuss what the hat symbolizes What purpose does the hat serve for Holden? Include quotes about his hat.
The format of your writing is up to you but you should clearly answer all of the questions. Feel free to add graphics appropriate to the topic. Also, please remember to cite any sources that you reference to help you answer the questions. Ultimately, the ideas should be your own but most of us use the information at our finger-tips to aid our understanding; that is great as long as you do not steal the work of others (thus, ideas must be cited, pictures, etc.).
Mr. Hass ,the headmaster at Elkton Hills,is a phony. He is not authentic, he shakes hands with everybody´s parents, but if a boy has “funny-looking parents” he gives them a fake smile and then goes and talks with somebody else´s parents for a very long time.
If Mr.Hass were authentic and sincere ,he woudn´t make distictions with the children´s parents.
