Methods of carry for dedicated counter custody tools: (Part 1) What to carry and how? Well its a complicated question and there is no one blanket answer. You really have to do your homework first. A few questions you need to ask yourself. •Am I at risk? This is a simple question. Is abduction a real threat in your life? Depending on your personal monetary situation, job, nationality, where you are in the world, this may or may not be a factor you need to really worry about. Then again, home invasion type events have been documented where the home owners have been handcuffed or tied up with this eventually leading to a very bad end result. Also, domestically there are lot of obsessive relationships that have ended badly where restraints have been used. Carrying concealed dedicated tools might have been life savers in these situations with the proper training behind them. •What to carry? Ok so you made de decision to carry counter custody orientated tools. Before anything else. Get proper training in the mate first (this is really important). You can’t just buy some kit and stuff it down your pants. I have seen more than one guy out there that have made the investment to buy a specialized E&E kit that is later found bound and gaged in a ditch with the kit still in his pants. They are are not amulets ..they don’t word off evil, they are tools and if you don’t know what the right tools are, how to carry, conceal and use them efficiently under pressure than there is something wrong with your planning. Training first. Honest high pressure training with a lot of problem solving. If you aren’t fucking up and getting your self stuck in the exercise you aren’t learning. Make all the mistakes you can. Now by this point you will be fairly familiar with basic tools and how the work. What their weaknesses are and what places on your person can be used as concealment points that can be accessed by you or a fellow captive if the situation may arise that you are take with other people (this needs to factor in to your training). There is no way around this. Don’t half ass this part. •Counter Custody Bundles ( Needle ) It’s a simple fact. Carrying a single dedicated kit in a singular container is the most practical way of starting to integrate this in to your every day carry gear. It has to be a container that is capable of being concealed and accessible from a position of bondage with hands in the from and in the back. There are many types of containers that I have had great experiences with. Pictured here are 3 of the ones I recommend and use. The first one on the left is a flat concealment pocket that the good people at Triple Aught Design made for a class I did with them, its made to to be integrated in to a lot of the clothing the offer but with a little work and know how, it can be integrated as a concealed carry option for every day use with a few modifications. Keeping things flat lessens the printing it may produce and can aid in it going in noticed in a quick pat down you may be subject to in the initial contact faze of an abduction situation. I have also used small plastic bags and duct tape with the same thought behind it to grate effect. The one in the middle is an aluminum pill case. This one in particular came out of a a search they did on a criminal that was about to be transported. It was up his ass (Pardon my french). He used a condom to lubricate and insert it up his rectum. He has two hand cuff keys and a hack saw blade peace inside it. It my sound funny but truly there is no deeper concealment option out there for such a kit. The last one on the right is a custom GoTube by SnakeDr. I can’t go in to specifics, but it is my favorite out of all of them. Realistically, if you get progressively deeper and spend more time in custody and bundle like this may be found, which is where spreading out kit on your person comes in to play. Humans are natural predators. You can see this clearly in our way of visiting violence on others. Criminals tend to pick there victims and the place they make contact with them. VICTIM: One of the things they look for in a potential victim is obviously a physical advantage over the person they intend to assault ( the more experienced ones do this, sometimes you can ID inexperienced first timers by how they underestimate a victim). They also look for distracted individuals that are not aware of there environment ( like the gazelle drinking from a river), people focused on typing in a PIN number fixated on the screen are prime targets. Next time you are at an ATM look at the way people approach it, some will look around constantly others won’t.. ( experience over in experience, does that have been through it or have learn indirectly about it tend to adopt an alert stance as they take out there money, some people never learn and are just asking to be victimized). PLACE: One entrance with little chance of people passing by to see what’s going on inside. The criminal picks his ambush spot. As a potential victim you should learn to be an expert at imaging your self picking these ambush choke points your self, and avoid them or go in to them ready for trouble. Notes: If someone is wearing a helmet, it impairs his vision. Use this to your advantage, manipulate it with your left hand to the sides to blind him as you work your options with the right ( blade, gun, impact, chemical, free hand..etc.) If you must walk in to a space like this, keep your weapons conceal in hand and ready. If its a blade or gun, its better that he feels the effects of it before he sees what’s causing it. Always cheat….. Ed

Guys, deadbolts aren’t totally safe. This is just one of several ways I’ve seen them opened (via YouTube videos). If you really want to be safe, consider investing in a flip-latch.

You can pick them up at ACE hardware (or any other hardware store), and you install them on the inside of the door on the doorframe. They flip and lock really tight (you typically have to lean your weight into the door to secure it) and they can’t be opened from the outside as far as I know.
