When you stop seeing your social anxiety as some terrible character flaw and start understanding that it’s just a personality trait, life gets a whole lot lighter.
Not everyone excels in certain social situations. That’s okay. We all have different things we bring to the world. You’re not a character from a tv show with a team of writers to prepare your words. You’re a human being living this life for the very first time. All expectations of what you should be, from yourself or from others, are imagined. You are enough, exactly as you are.
When you truly understand this, things change. The anxiety may still be there, but the shame and dread is lifted, and that’s half the pain gone.
