I donât care if Iâm 25, 45, or 105 if a child looks me dead in the eye and says, âA man can be a lesbian,â I am picking up the nearest salmon (preferably wild-caught, ethically sourced) and smacking them across the face. Not hard enough to injure. Just enough to spiritually reboot them.
Like a reset button via fish.
I will not be gaslit who still thinks the moon is made of cheese and that you can become a girl by downloading it off Tumblr. No, Timmy. You are not the authority here.
Some of yâall will say âI was bullied in high school for being trans/nonbinary/genderfluidâ and listen, I believe some people were targeted just for existing, absolutely.
But letâs be honest: a lot of you were bullied because you introduced yourself with a 3-minute PowerPoint on your neopronouns and then called the lunch lady a fascist for saying âmaâam.â
People werenât mad that you used they/them. They were mad that you screamed âGENDER IS A SOCIAL CONSTRUCTâ at the substitute teacher who misread the attendance sheet and then cried in the hallway when someone said âguysâ casually in a group setting. Thatâs not oppression. Thatâs a social skills issue.
Just like with anime, liking something or being something isn't what got you side-eyed. It was turning every classroom into a live Tumblr blog and acting like anyone who asked a question was committing a hate crime.
Also and Iâm gonna say it thereâs a good chance you were being super creepy about it. The girls at your high school werenât âtransphobicâ for not wanting to hang out with you. They remembered that just a year ago, you were the same AMAB kid making edgy Nazi jokes and showing people Elfen Lied gore scenes on your cracked iPod Touch during lunch.
You didnât âdiscover womanhoodâ you discovered anime, a thigh-highs obsession, and suddenly decided you were entitled to sisterhood.
We didnât exclude you because you were trans. We excluded you because you were weird, boundaryless, and constantly trying to trauma-dump or flirt with girls who were clearly uncomfortable.
Gender identity is not a reset button for past behavior. If you treated girls like crap as a boy and now expect instant sisterhood as a âgirl,â we remember.
Now itâs all online and suddenly these same types wanna pick fights with adults, then act shocked when we donât care. I grew up with little shits just like you. Iâve seen this before. Youâre not a new phenomenon. Youâre a rerun with a worse haircut.
And honestly? My inner teenage girl remembers. She remembers being cornered by weird boys who thought wearing eyeliner made them oppressed. She remembers being told to âbe niceâ while they stared too long, hovered too close, and trauma-dumped about their anime waifus. So if you come looking for a fight now, donât be surprised when I donât offer you kindness.
My inner teen wants healing through blood.Go pick fights with your Discord server, not grown women who already survived you once.
Iâm not some radfem fandom mom(they are creepy), but if any teenagers are out here dealing with creepy-ass NSFW blogs, weird adult messages, or just straight-up unsettling content come to me. Iâve been around and Iâve seen things. Iâve been desensitized to this shit. Iâve got the digital scars and the unhinged sense of humor to prove it :^)
I won't judge you, I won't talk down to you, and I sure as hell wonât send you back into the mess alone. Sometimes you just need an older radfem with a spine and WiFi.
