moshi monsters is shutting down, most of the og poptropica islands are gone and flash is going next year :( my entire childhood is crumbling away

The poptropica islands are gonna come back! The poptropica team is just transferring them to html5 so poptropica can survive after 2020. The only scare is that old school islands might not come back because the technology used for it is so old they need to rebuild them so they might not come back or be a bit different, but most if not all will be back! So not all of it will be gone.

Also, using this link: https://server.idkonpop.com/pop/teleport/?short=oldIslandMap you can play the islands that are no longer on the main poptropica website. (it requires flash). You need to be signed on the main poptropica on a different tab tho in order to play these. Also to restart island, just go to settings button, press restart. This isn’t… Controversial. It is, however, wrong.

The Wii was by far the most successful console of its generation in the US (and globally). And it was that successful specifically because it’s broad array of nonviolent games made it hugely appealing to most of the US’s entertainment seeking public.

It absolutely appealed to the US demographic. It even appealed to the US “gamer” demographic.

What it did not appeal to, however, was the Dark And Edgy vibe that many gaming advertisers at the time wanted to emphasize, and given how many negative connotations a lot of people now have about self-described “gamers” being violent and anti social thanks to GamerGate, it also doesn’t fit in with the modern stereotype of the violent-incel gamer.

But just because the Wii doesn’t conform to stereotyping does not mean it failed or was unpopular. It unequivocally won the Seventh Console Generation, leaving the ps3 and Xbox 360 tens of millions of units in the dust.
