Ok... now Rosa Mexicano needs an introduction. 

If you are thinking of heading to New York City then I would HIGHLY recommend going to Rosa Mexicano! It is a very stylish and classy Mexican restaurant with a famous guacamole. 

It just so happened that we went during NYC restaurant week so we were able to have a special menu.  

The guacamole was made freshly in front of us. The waiter used a mortar and pestle to grind fresh avocado, peppers and other secret ingredients to make the best guacamole that Rod or I had ever tasted. We then had it with corn chips and also soft tacos! 

The entrees kept coming... next was the Chicken tacos which were smoky and tender and coated with a smooth tomato sauce and a sprinkling of cheese. 

We were already completely satisfied and blown away by the quality of our food, but the mains were yet to come! 

Rod ordered a steak dish which consisted of tender, buttery strips of steak and three dishes of salsa, corn and relish. There was also a dish of soft tortillas and flavoured rice and refried beans. 

I ordered a chicken tortilla pie and it was amazing. I wanted to order dessert, but we simply couldn't fit it in! 

I never thought that a guacamole could knock me for six like that, but it certainly did and I've been thinking about it ever since!

We met a great bunch of people on the Chocolate, Wine and Dessert tour of the Upper West Side. The truth is that I was far too busy eating to take photos!
