Evaluate 23 Mobile Things
I learned something at each step. Some apps I will use again, some I won’t.
My favorites were Vine, Snapchat, and Candy Crush.
My daughter would say that I’m finally getting into 21st century. I was a little embarrassed by some of the apps I hadn’t tried before.
It was worth my time. I struggled to make it a priority, so I played catch up to make the deadline.

Thing 23 - The End!
I just completed my 23 Mobile Things and overall I am quite pleased with the apps I downloaded for this program. The best things I am taking away from it is some apps for websites & programs I have already been using on my computer. It’s good to know & be reminded that there are apps for make it easy to take things like ELM, Quizlet & Spotify on the road!
I would participate again in a similar program.

I’m very grateful to 23 Mobile Things for giving me a chance to make something in Line Camera, i Visual, Haiku Deck and Vine without the pressure of learning them for an event or program. I now have more apps to recommend to patrons and for our learning lab iPads.

Thing 15! Infographics
The Visualize app was a lot of fun to test out today. This would be a good one to use to create an infographic of some programs or to present some stats. I put some book jackets here to promote some of our nonfiction eBooks, but I don’t think it’s the best because I couldn’t add links… Unless I’m mistaken? Does anyone know if you can add links in Visualize? I didn’t see a way to do that.
On my PC, I used Pictochart to make an infographic and was pretty happy with the results, but I don’t see an app for that one.

I was excited to come across Thing 15 because I love infographics. As a graphic designer, I think infographics are the most interesting and visually-appealing way to share information, so to find an app dedicated to any and all infographics was a great discovery.

Please share if you find a good infographics app - we had trouble finding very many that seemed suitable for the program, so it'd be great to add one or two more if we do Round 2! #23ThingsMN
23 Mobile Things: Thing 19
I went all out for Thing 19 (Hobbies) and spent $1.99 on the Cor.kz wine app (CellarTracker). I wasn’t totally impressed with the location based features which used foursquare data to suggest wine stores, wine bars etc. near me. However, the wine database and cellar features were excellent. The photo above is an example of the kind of information you can find on each wine.
I think I will use this app - although I don’t have anything that can be considered a “wine cellar”. I do have a wine fridge that will hold several cases and keep them climate controlled. So, in theory, I could buy some wines that weren’t ready to drink and save them for the right moment -without fear of them spoiling. I can also keep track of wines I like - something I can never seem to do in my head. That’s probably enough for this “Thing” - I’m going to go browse wines.

One of my hobbies is playing tabletop role-playing games. These are games (the most famous is Dungeons and Dragons) that are played with a gamebook (optional if you’re not the game master, who creates the plot, locations, and every character you meet), dice, and a pen and paper to write out...
First a post about having a radio show in college (me too) and now this! I still have some of my D&D books and dice from when I used to play so it was fun to read about the apps that support RPGs - fun post! #23ThingsMN

I loaded candy crush. I love bejeweled so I am loving this game too. 400 hundred levels, huh? I am in big trouble!

Okay, I don’t have to deal with children in my library job, but I have interest in finding out what the people who are being groomed to force me out of my job when the get old enough are learning with. In this case: Little Learners Play and Learn.
