Fooling around with Logic Pro this morning. Needs a melody, but it's a good start. I like the arpeggiator pattern on this one.

I'm finding that I miss the weekly "grind" of writing, from last year's A Year In Music project (ecoboxmusic.tumblr.com). So this morning, I set myself a goal: 60 minutes, start with a loop, go. It's snowing right now in Chicago, and the loop I picked was a quiet string thing that I modded and extended. Beats, bass, and piano, and done! Almost two minutes of groovy serenity on this Saturday morning.
Strings and winds, tremolo guitar, electric piano, and an 808 beat to shake yer booty to. A little playtime with Garageband and orchestral samples.
Today is my friend Gretchen's 37th birthday. Unfortunately for us, she's not here to celebrate...she's gone wherever the good people go. Miss you lots, my friend. So much to learn and so little time to learn it. Thank you.
Playing around with the bass, I got this little 2-bar groove. Added some drums, then a clav and guitar melody, and here we are.
Trying out some new stuff...building a groove, using strings as a base, then putting a melody over the top. Maybe not so new, but whatever.
Listening to film music and been playing around with the percussion samples on my computer. 90 seconds of interesting? Or just banal and cliché?
Another piece submitted to the major stock music company.
Posting some work done recently that was submitted (and rejected) by a major stock music company. The next few posts are from that group. Any insights or comments are greatly appreciated.
Welcome to the sound.
We'll be posting demos and short sound bits here - everything from Finale demos of orchestral music to hold music for tech firms to sound files of our ideas as they come to us (usually on a train platform with no instrument, so they're sung). Come check us out!
