This was a “what if” scenario;
Iris joins forces with the Earthlings and Vegeta in the hopes of defeating Frieza. The evil emperor planned to torture and mutilate Iris as an act of punishment for committing treason, however she was shielded and rescued by a Namekian, Piccolo.
Iris’s species, the Novians, were subjugated to slavery under Frieza’s rule. Before her birth, the emperor decreed that ALL male Novians were to be exterminated; the conception of pure Novian blood was to be wiped out entirely. Frieza’s idea was influenced by a rebellion made by a Novian Chief named Sirius; his plan was to dethrone the emperor, however he was betrayed and captured by Frieza’s men. Sirius was held a prisoner; his body was mutilated, castrated, and was force to watch his wife and newborn heir murdered before his eyes. Frieza’s effort was to emasculate/humiliate/diminish the flame of “hope” of Sirius, and it worked.
Iris is the last of the Novian generation. After her mother had given birth to her daughter, she was forced to give her baby to Frieza’s Army. Majority of newborn females were either subjugated to be laborers, or be classified as mercenaries.
Iris had to know only one thing, and that is to fight. It has been emblemed into her psyched since she was able to walk. Fight. Her life has been filled with betrayal, loss, and hopelessness. Iris had taught herself at a very young age that the only person you could depend on is yourself. It’s an exhausting life, but it’s what kept her alive. However, she’s done being held down under Frieza’s boot (lol he doesn’t wear shoes but get the metaphor 😂) , and by the inspiration of the injustice of the Novian people she will sought out to rid the evil emperor.
