of course!!! its really simple, all there is to it is the brush & program im using :D ill try to be thorough & i’ll put it under the cut since my example pictures are so big 

im a medibang pro user & the brush i used for that drawing was the default pencil brush... very exciting, i know... all that i really keep in mind is the opacity when sketching

i usually use 75-85% opacity, but for this example i specifically used 85%. after sketching the outline, i filled in robin’s hair with just one layer of value. 

the highlight you’re referring to is actually this base layer of value. to make it look like a highlight i just go around where i want the highlights to be (for robin it’s pretty consistent) to darken all the hair around it, like this: 

and bam!!! a highlight!! thats all there is to it, really - its a good way to make simple hair value quickly. the only thing i do afterwards is just clean up the sketch, but if im painting over it or making line art it helps to guide me a little or keep in mind light sources

I like the idea of him having red eyes since it complements all the Moss hes got going on. I usually just draw him with the Default Black Dots like everyone else but once I made a pixel with red eyes in mind:
