Imagine finding out you have 90 minutes to tie up a love story that's developed over thousands of years. You create something beautifully in character and completely on point for the plot. You pay homage to the original writer's legacy in a fitting and poetic way and create an ending that not only shows the depth of two people's love for each other but the wider love they have for the thing that brought them together in the first place.

And then you go online to find the loudest outcry is that everyone hates it and "THEY DIDN'T EVEN KISS!"

I feel sorry for people who didn't get anything out of that stunning finale.

Hey, fandom people, listen up.

Feeling things is good.

However you feel is valid and everyone is entitled to process and share those feelings and manage their own experience in whatever way is necessary.

That's literally why places like Tumblr exist.

But intentionally seeking out or responding to people involved with the show to dump your displeasure is not okay.

This is, quite literally, the real life version of "don't like, don't read", except that it's real people who poured their hearts and souls into a project that almost didn't happen - if you don't like the finale, they do not need to know about it. There is nothing they can do about it. There is no next season to change anything. If you think we are all filled with high emotion and mixed feelings, they undoubtedly have experienced that ten fold.

That doesn't mean you can't vent and share your views and be angry or happy or upset or some combination of all of those things, perhaps, and it certainly doesn't mean you can't post about it all online.

But jfc, the irony of humans behaving this way over an angel and demon who gave themselves for humans to have a chance at being better - feel however you feel, express it however you need to, but let the cast and crew have their moment, something many of them have said they're proud of.

well apparently everyone else hates it. i do not. i love it. i love what they did with it, i love that crowley got to choose, i love that he chose humanity, that he did not choose to run away.

because THAT is who he is. he loves his stars and creations, he loves humanity, he loves the messiness, the good and the bad, the ugly and the beautiful, he loves watching them. he showed jesus all the kingdoms of the world to share that love with someone who he knows already felt it.

in the end, they made that choice together. it's a choice they have made before, over and over, saving humanity over themselves. no god, no angels, no demons, no thousands of years of suffering for all the millions of eternal beings.

personally, i choose to believe that god's last gift to them was integrating them into the fabric of the new universe, so they will find each other in every lifetime. but without anyone watching, without any plan behind it, without senseless suffering, without creating stars just to destroy them.

just the two of them, together, always.

Hot take of the day: the kiss on the fingertips felt right to me*.

They had spent years apart in an unreconciled fight, came back together like 24 hours ago (for immortal beings that's a wink), and didn't really have the most time to talk things out.

Feelings are still raw! Hearts are still sore. Crowley sure as hell wasn't gonna try and plant a big one again. It came from aziraphale and it came as an offering. "I can reach out now. I can take the first step". It was respectful and it felt like them.

As an aroace girly, I think people are placing too much importance on a kiss. It’s not needed when their relationship and bond does all the talking.

See this is exactly what I’m talking about. Would I have loved a kiss? Yes of course! But I don’t think them not having on diminishes their bond in any way whatsoever. They’re not even used to that sort of affection because they’ve had to keep their feelings under wraps for millennia! Obviously a kiss would have been more outright representation for the queer community (which as a queer person I care very much about) but I don’t think the lack of one is any reason to not like the finale as a whole.
