Just watched Peter Pan (1953). idc what y'all say about Tinker Bell, she was the real MVP of the movie. girlie was just trying to get rid of those racist and misogynist children and Peter himself was annoying asf anyway so she was so right to be mad at him. The only thing is that she's slightly misguided and mainly focused on getting revenge on Wendy, who is probably the only normal / likable person in the entire movie (other than the mom and the dog) but ehh. peak romance is him going to your rockstar show, you get swarmed by fans outside the car while you're having a nice emotional bonding moment together, him realizing that the milf you have a Weird (redacted) relationship with appearing at all your shows is your actual mother and then you have an argument and you end up getting so sick you go to the bar for more Emotional Bonding Moments, then going to the local witch to summon your dead daughter who wishes she could've killed both of you instead of just one of you while she delivers an absolutely devastating monologue and then you go to the park bench evil good omens-style and then get beheaded together by your mutual ex and his new annoying ahh bf who essentially tossed your reputations down the toilet. dream date actually😍

happy 3rd birthday speak now tv! there is truly no other album that does it like speak now (/tv) I love the mix of genres from country to power pop to pop punk / emo. I love how it's widely known as a country album but the only featured artists are fall out boy and hayley williams like that's peak emo. the jumps in mood are also funny asf but real. we all generalize speak now as this fairytale-princess-and-gowns-and-castles album in retrospect but there's really way more pop-punk adjacent songs with snippy songwriting than fairytale-princess songs in the whole album. even the slower ballad-y songs like last kiss or back to december have lyrics that cut deep. the only actual song that might fit the fairytale princess image is enchanted but even then it literally ends with borderline pathetically begging with 'please! don't! be! in! love! with! some! one! EEEELSE'. oh you thought enchanted was a really cute and magical song? tadaaa guess what's next on the tracklist! it's better than revenge! if you thought a little bit of romance was nice, no you won't think that anymore. time to be evil to #that girl and he's just a toy on the playground. oh and also foolish one is on the same album. as enchanted. it's almost like it's telling a story, listening to enchanted and then better than revenge and then foolish one. that's literally the stages of grief if you fill in the other steps with some extra songs. (it could work like: denial - haunted, anger - better than revenge, bargaining - speak now, depression - castles crumbling, and acceptance - foolish one, or alternatively, some happier songs like long live... just saying...) the story of us and haunted are just perfectly desperate. you know what, when you feel completely helpless there is actually one thing you can do and it's writing an absolute banger. the songs are so thematically different from each other it's almost incoherent but ehh, that's just what exactly it feels to be 20 years old. that and having an obsession with early 2000s emo / pop punk music. oh and right how could I forget to end this post without glazing my favorite song on the album again. electric touch is peak, fall out boy is so slay this is one of the best collabs ever ms swift pls collab with them more pls thank you and thank you for this amazing album🙏🏻

this sounds lowkey fake but I just got the sudden urge to listen to speak now today and have no idea why until I Realized ™ it's 7/7 -- guess what day it is? it's speak now tv day! speak now tv was released three years ago today in 2023 and I usually don't remember / care about the album release dates but it's just crazy how there's just something that instinctively tells me to listen to it even when I don't exactly know why I should. this also happened last year with evermore like that's so crazy what the hell does Taylor even put in her albums that makes this happen?

'Weh weh wehhhh Supergirl 2026 was badly written, James Gunn sucks and wokeness is killing the DCU' bestie you do realize the movie is basically adapted from the comic Woman of Tomorrow (2021) by Tom King? I'm not saying the movie is perfect, personally I thought there's still quite some room for improvement but No, Wokeness ™ did not destroy a movie that was literally just translated into video form from the same comic. It even fixed the biggest problem with it (the whole thing being in Ruthye's POV in the og comic and the readers having to view Kara entirely as her idealized version). If you think the writing is bad, it would be because the comic was badly written and you're just misogynistic and scapegoating and pushing the problems onto what you thought was the team trying to push for a 'feminist agenda' (it was just women existing and leading a film).
