Derek who can't help but touch Stiles even before they get together bc he's yearning

When he needs Stiles' attention, he pulls on Stiles' elbow, pokes at him, tugs at his hand. When Stiles does something in the kitchen, Derek finds any nonsensical excuse to be around him and always ends up needing yeah that cup the one furthest away and what do you want me to do you're the one standing at the sink so what if I'm squishing you. Derek stays completely still when Stiles accidentally falls asleep on him. Derek always volunteers to be the one to take Stiles home when he's drunk and giggly and doesn't step away when Stiles leans on him heavily. Derek will brush at Stiles' hair and say smn like "there was a bug" then scowl and turn away pretending his hand isn't tingling. Derek's hand on Stiles' back or neck as he leads his human somewhere (Stiles thinks it's an alpha instinct and doesn't fight bc he pines, too).

Yeah. Derek and his totally normal innocent touches (he sneaks into Stiles' bedroom at night and sits in the chair in the darkest corner and watches him sleep)

Vampire Stiles who can’t drink wolf blood because it’s poisonous, and Derek who hunts and kills to feed his lover.

Derek the wolf has no problem doing what they must to survive, and lies about it to Stiles. Stiles, formerly human, couldn’t allow himself to purposely take a life. So Derek tells his mate that the body was already broken when he found it, that there’s no fixing those wounds so he might as well feed. He will say he robbed a blood bank, or waited for a rapist to show themselves at a club late at night.

He’d do anything, kill anyone to spare Stiles the heartache, to continue living beside him.

I love that the werewolf equivalent of seeing bare ankles is seeing a bare neck+chest. And Stiles would totally have it painted! Derek would slob over it but then he'd also be like 'wait... who painted it... who saw you like that' and watch it be Her Lesbian Highness Lydia

While we're here: I've been loving the thought of wolves hiding their necks. It's their etiquette, sort of, to only bare their necks to their very closed ones. It's scandalous and inappropriate and abhorrent to walk around with an exposed neck, etc, you get the gist. ESPECIALLY IN A HISTORICAL AU I AM SALIVATING!!! But imagine it being a wolf-only tradition? They cannot even look at humans properly, and they all think badly of humans bc of this (prejudice blah-blah). And then enter Stiles who knows exactly whom he wants (THE alpha Derek Hale yuuuuup); he dresses appropriately, behaves like a wolf's mate should, never looks away from direct stares (he can only submit to the ones he trusts implicitly)... Basically, he has studied the wolf culture through and through and Derek is in fucking AWE!!!

Imagine then something happens, a fight or a kidnapping or an entruder or smn and Stiles is left with his neck and chest exposed and he's in shambles bc now the alpha Hale would see him, and he tries to cover but his hands shake and-

Except of course Derek understands and protects him and he sees how important it is to Stiles I CAN'T!!!!!!!!!!

The omega’s mouth clamped shut, his lips trembling. The muscles in Derek’s jaw bulged as if he struggled to stay still.

Stiles’ chest stilled. His lips parted. He went completely stiff, watching Derek’s lips move, but the words made no sense.

“Derek…” he murmured hoarsely, shaking his head. “What…”

“I am not going to hurt you.” Derek’s voice went hard as steel. He spread his arms as if showing the lack of armor. “But you are coming with me. It is an order. Do you understand me?”

Stiles shifted his gaze from his mouth to his eyes and flinched back.

They were red. Burgundy, like the blood splatters marring his face.

And just like that, everything became clear.
