You may be wondering who is behind the "Stand Your Ground" laws that allowed Zimmerman to walk free on the night that he shot and killed the unarmed 17-year-old Martin? It was crafted by none other than the lobbying group known as ALEC. But who is ALEC? ALEC (American Legislative Exchange Council) is a tool for corporations to obtain access to thousands of legislators, helping them to work hand in hand to develop profitable legislation. ALEC says it promotes “free-market and conservative ideas", including: resolutions against increasing the minimum wage, against attempts by the EPA to regulate greenhouse gas emissions, against “comparable worth” legislation that would encourage equal pay for women, privatization of prisons and replacing unionized workers with prison labor, protection of companies engaged in cruel and unnecessary animal testing, etc. ALEC will host their annual meeting in Chicago on August 7-9. Shut it down by any means necessary!

He was just a normal kid. So what if he stuck his middle finger up in photos and smoked weed. I’ve seen a million white teens do that, and they aren’t gunned down in the street for being suspicious. The racism needs to end. RIP baby. Hopefully justice is served.

Bulgaria’s 28th day of anti-government protest. Three main actions today, the #Workwithme morning protest at parliament. The #DANSwithme/#ДАНСwithme March through Sofia. Tonight after the march people gathered to surround Parliament. Tense moments with police when people tried to take down some of the barricades surrounding.
