This is from a few years back - was for a buddy of mine - I used to do it every year but he was terrible at uploading selfies so I couldn’t use any recent pics and had to stop. So it’s from a while ago, but here we go. Wish I could still draw him! I already see where I could improve and I have new eye ideas >:) ah well. He probably was freaked out by it anyways heheh. But he was a good sport! Maybe someday I’ll do it again as a surprise who knows.

Anyhoo, landscapes ain’t my forte, but here’s an attempt. Sigh. Would 100% look better if I painted from scratch instead of making a tree and copy-pasting it but I don’t have the time/patience. *aggressively shrugs*

30+ unfinished art projects and art homework and I decide to paint this random head! YAY CREATIVE UNBRIDLED MIND y u do this Major art block these past few months! Just felt like everything took too long and didn’t look good so I let it rest… It might come back but I thought I’d update with this quick painting (I mean, I think it was quick… tbh I kinda lost track of the time but I wanted to test out my new equipment!!!) and I’ll probably upload some of my art homework at some point. On the plus side I’m taking an digital art class! So I’ll upload some pieces soon ish kinda. (ps if her head looks weird I did this with 0 reference so forgibe me)

UHHHHHH - I am SO OVERLOADED RIGHT NOW - SCHOOL/WORK/EVERYTHING - BUT IF I DIDN’T AT LEAST TRY TO FINISH THIS HECKA OLD PIECE - I WOULDA BEEN TOAST - Thought of this forever ago - Matcha is my fav drink > coffee, tea, etc. - Tho like? This would not be her actual realm to rule over if she were a god? But thought it would be cool to draw anyway??? - It’s not actually this color but I used to get teh best latte one from this cafe and it came in this color - I started this and I got bored and it looked real bad so I pushed myself to finish it months later - Part of the reason I think I take so long on pieces is the details so I tried to let this one be """"sloppy"""" i.e. I coulda polished and defined more (like the skin), but kinda also ended up liking the texture, so I left it at a midwayish point.  - I think I need to take a break from painting (She said, after months of little to no submitted paintings)... BUT I do wanna finish HAR… My hands are craving physical art tho, like sewing esp or felting or clay or etc. - Am pretty satisfied with this tho! AND LOOK AT ME AND MY MUTED COLORS YAS - Last but not least never ever use blurry or super airbrushed ref pics you will regret it SO BAD

*I’d like to make 100% clear that this is something Harley wears around the house and would never ever ever fight crime in unless someone attacked her at home b/c I am sick of seeing her crime outfit look like a stripper on a budget (I’m looking at YOU, new suicide squad movie!!!)* Ahem. So this is another version of Harley, inspired by this song mashup/mix/thing, specifically the chorus. Basically, Harley is red, and Puddin’ is blue. Pretty self explanatory after that. I wanted to experiment with 3D stuff and color so I went a little crazy. If it hurts your eyes, I did it right. It took a while only because I wasn’t sure how to do the effects or what I WANTED to do with the fxs. Not 100% perfect but I’m ok with it. Cheers y’all. My it has been QUITE a while but 1) I got hung up on anatomy and shading and 2) halloween. I think that word is all the explanation you need. But I won the costume contest at work, so yay me! Ahem. Give Me a Try This is one of my all time favorite songs I’ve played it probably 500 times no joke if not more. Probably the last Wombat song I’ll do (except maybe Greek Tragedy but we’ll see). Not as sketchy as the other Wombat songs I’ve done but this one means a bit more to me. Please listen to it!!! This picture could mean a lot of things, but if you listen to the song I think it’ll make some sort of sense. I was inspired by 2 things: I was super overwhelmed one day with like… Everything. So the song is really desperate sounding tone in both the words AND the music and - boom.. I was also inspired by like every hipster post on tumblr, I mean look at this picture - I’ve got crystals, a pastel goth hipster girl and her hipster boyfriend, and space. But really, I wanted her to be more of an anime magical girl, hence the glowy hair and tears - she’s been showing up in a lot of my art lately. Stupid tumblr aesthetic posts that I constantly see and am now drawing (*shakes fist into interweebs*)! Ah well I tried to put my own spin on it, so at least there’s that, even if they are influencing me. This pic took a while cause I got a bit bored and overwhelmed and I decided to do full body which always takes a while but I never really got sick sick of it or the song, which just shows how much I love it. Ps also I didn’t really know how to do galaxies or space rocks but I think it turned out ok. Oh, and I sourced the background colors from the album! CAN’T WAIT TO GET BACK TO MORE ART AND ALSO WRITING WHICH I’M STARTING TO DISCOVER I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT SO IF I GO DARKSIDE AGAIN IT’S BECAUSE I’M WORKING ON THAT. Short explanation: for my #hairchallenge, I’ve been trying out different hair styles, and I needed practice drawing hair! Although I don’t look really look like her but my hair is the same color and that is pretty close to some of my jewelry. I just drew a stereotypical disney face and went at practicing with some brushes and procrastinated other pieces I was supposed to be working on.

long explanation: I’ve been trying to figure out how to do my hair, since I’ve never been able to grasp it beyond a braid kinda. And I was gonna take pics to document the whole thing, like a hair challenge, but it turns out I am not gifted yet in the art of selfies, so I’ll just draw them. Here’s the link to the youtube tutorials and also my reviews. I fell behind this week! I'll have to work hard to crank out an extra Har this week oh well ;) 

1.Bubble buns - I DID PRINCESS JASMINE HAIR LOOK AT ME. Only cons: you have to rat it. Also when you rat hair it must be dry. Pros: But look how good it came out! It was a little “”boho”” by the time I was done, but it held up all day and was super cute.

2. Five Strand Braid- as I move to the end of the braid series, I’m trying to get the more complicated ones (I guess). This one was - not complicated. Also, it looks best as 1 braid - the pattern gets lost on 2. I think people just looked at it and saw a normal braid, plus it won’t lay as flat, which makes it look like a tube braid, but not in a good way. It just loses the pattern, trust me. But it’s easy and fast, and would look AMAZING as a french braid!

3.Twisted crown/wreath/halo braid - remember how I said on the last Har that the crown braid is impossible to achieve on your own? Well I was wrong. This is the rope version! It’s a little hard - and would DEFINITELY look better if someone helped - but came out great. Did I pull out a ton of hair and start over 7 times? Yes. Did I also get a ton of compliments AND called an evil german witch queen? Also yes.

4. Four Strand Waterfall - This looked awesome! Unfortunately kinda hard to do on oneself - there is a 3 strand version of this but I think the 4 strand holds the braid together better. Anyways, I got tons of compliments. People called me Ariel and Mermaid, and then one fool called me Norma from OITNB, though I still don’t know why. I obviously looked like a beautiful mer-alien, and if I am Norma, I’m sure as heck TOAST Norma, the Supreme.

5. Supah Haux - A faux hawk!? for real!? Yup. I’ve been wanting to do this a while. It - It KIND OF worked - but it’s easier to do on someone else for sure. I think after probably a lot of practice it would be easy to do on yourself, but you have to rat SO MUCH HAIR I would only recommend this as like a special occasion thing. Also, I decided to not do a lil pompadour in the front, like the tutorial suggested, because I really wanted a full on hawk, but that may have been a mistake - in the end I had an egg shaped head. Also, I got very mad for being late. Sigh. 

6. ELSA HAIR - I literally waited the entire braid series to do this. I have held off cutting my hair to do this. This has been the only highlight of me not being able to afford getting my hair done. I have saved and waited till the end to prefect this braid. Here it is. It’s a normal 3 strand, but man did I put work into this. I LOOKED AMAZING AND ABSOLUTELY NO ONE CALLED ME ELSA AT ALL B/C THEY’RE NON-DISNEY FOOLS jk they actually call me Elsa all the time cause of all my braids but on the ONE day I ESP looked like her NO ONE SAID ANYTHING. Fools.

More things I have learned this week in #hairchallenge adventures: - If something says “bohemian” in the title, it means messy/sloppy/frizzy. No matter how you try. You cannot escape the bohemia. Water will not work. Gel will not work. Hairspray will not work. GETTING UP 2 HOURS AHEAD OF TIME WILL NOT WORK. BOHO IS FOREVER BOHO IS LIFE - Fun fact most tutorials are like eyyyy lifehack get your hair wet it’s so much easier to braid ha ha ha what they don’t tell you is it also makes your hair STRINGY and SLIPPY and BASICALLY IMPOSSIBLE unless it’s a fishtail. - The halo/crown/full circle/greecian/wreath braid is impossible to do on yourself. Unless you want a bohemian look. - Braids do not like bangs. - Pancaking is code for boho.

1. Tutorial fail and ran out of time - had been saving this ace up my sleeve. Just clipped my hair back. BOOM SUCKAS (gold and silver necklace) 2. Milkmaid/half crown/Swedish/ikea braid - Experimented with the crown braid, failed, went with this. Great success, 10/10 recommendation. SUPER FAST, can be neat or messy. Was feeling like a pro for the rest of the tutorials I had planned. 3. Ropes - Waking up 2 hours early + practicing the tutorial the night before did absolutely nothing and my inspiration crashed as I was almost late PRAISE BE IT WAS THE MANAGER’S DAY OFF AND HE WASN’T THERE TO CATCH ME BEING 2 MINUTES LATE. Rope braids was the best I could do. Here’s a new and improved tutorial I used though, it gives a tighter braid. 4. Doublelaced Fishtail - This started out as a really cool tutorial but ultimately it’s really too hard to do on yourself after a point. It’s very easy, but you need 4 hands, AND IT MUST BE WET. So I did it for as long as I could, then just created 4 mini fishtails, and fishtailed them together. It kinda fell apart by the end of the day, esp since I didn’t do it wet and my hair is super fried right now, but it looked GREAT up until that point. 5. Bamboo/Figure 8/Inifinity braid - SO. EASY. I wore this one on sunday! I didn’t take it outside the house though, cause we were going to a cultural festival - I thought I’d look too much like a crazy white girl… BUT It’s very cool-easy-fast, and I love it. Looks AMAZING with Ombre or gradient hair. 6. Carousel/Winding Lace Braid - This one came out really cool. It’s still pretty hard to do on yourself though. IT’s very easy to learn! My only problem was that I b/c I’ve been doing so many dutch braids I kinda dutch braided it at certain points, which loses the pattern, but even then it looked awesome! I felt like a greek/anakin/hunger games/warrior until my Mom called me a renaissance girl :'( I’m just doing this so I can get better at hair… I guess nobody gets that… I’m not ‘THE’ crazy braid girl, it’s just so I can learn, because I never did… Soon yall will see

edit: I actually forgot one braid! I'll draw it in next weeks. Last of the braids! Moving on soon to retro styles hopefully!

Erm - ATTEMPTING to do at least a daily sketch a day - the thing is, though, I can't really make it a sketch. So, if I don't do one it means it got too complicated and it'll be like a 3 day sketch aka an actual picture. Whatever. I'm still trying. This is a hair/star series I'm doing. This is the start of a star's birth, aka the 'main sequence'. I also wanna try clouds... I think this one got too detailed facially, my bad, I wanted it to be rougher. But I do like the hair! I might redesign it once I get the style down, we'll see. Cheeeeerrrrszzssz (it's 2 am I'm such a fool)

Well that didn’t go as planned. To be fair - I DID draw Beverly! but uh well I wanted it to be a sketch, not a painting… oh well. Kind of a fail? Whatever - I WILL draw her as a cartoon, damnit! Just maybe tomorrow… I like how this turned out tho! Beverly, from IT. I love IT so so so much. IT and Carrie are the best Stephen King books please read them they are so sad and capture so many different parts of life. IT gets a little trippy but omg the good parts make up for any confusion you may have. 

Beverly is abused throughout her life by her dad/relationships, but don’t worry, she has a happy ending. Bless. (I thought I’d add that fact in case anyone noticed the slight highlights and shadows of tears/bruises. They are not, in fact, terrible shading. That is my attempt at being subtle. The more you know!)

remember forever ago when I was drawing my OC once a month? I really liked that project BUT I totally failed in october and it looked terrible so I deleted it and gave up temporarily... But I thought it might be fun to try to start again, so here's Jun 30ths. I decided not to do it monthly cause I can't control my inspiration so I'll try to do it at least once a month, but hopefully more. This one looks kinda dark I know, but it's actually a test for a larger picture I plan on doing with more drastic colors and probably full body - maybe even no face... I'm not sure yet, but I like how the test came out on this one though it's rough. But uh... Yeah. It's a test, and it'll make sense when I do the actual picture. But good practice! Just pretend my OC got into a fight in Holi or with a really mad fairy or something for now whatever

What I learned this week is to practice your tutorial fully the night before so you are not late to work, AND because sometimes people on youtube are fools who don't explain things clearly, such as "make sure you keep the braid TIGHT or doom" and "If you don't have unlayered elf hair down to your waist this might not actually work lol good luck" 1. Axl Rose - It wasn’t JUST that I was super lazy, it was also that none of the tutorials I was trying would work!!! In a desperate attempt not to be late, I decided to just leave it straight for the 3rd day in a row (save water!!!) and to hide any greasy roots, I threw on a headband. The result was Axl in a ginger ombre. I tried. 2. Frenchbraid - After much frustration, I was... Unimpressed with the results. IT LOOKS JUST LIKE A BRAID. So I elf’d it up - did 2 short ones on the side, and 2 legolass/katara sideburns. 3. French Twist Fail -  Good lord. Used the WORST tutorial - ok, it wasn’t THE worst, but it sure as heck wasn’t making sense to me. AT ALL. AFTER 8 ATTEMPTS. I GOT UP LIKE 2 HOURS EARLY TO DO IT AND IT STILL DIDN’T WORK. Then I tried switching it up, thinking I could do a different braid - epic fail on that one too. Finally kinda faked it on the side, but pulled out half the hair on my head (felt like it, at least) was almost late, and then the rest of the day didn’t really improve after that. GOOD NEWS: after EXTENSIVE research, here’s a tutorial that IS clear, and SHOULD work and look GOOD. 4. Flat Fish - another failed tutorial lead me to use this - much better, and super cute! AND I got a dress form on the same day!!! Some weird really stuff happened that day, but I survived with great hair. 5. Dutch Braid - ok so the first time I did this I totally used a terrible tutorial and failed so here is the one that DID make sense - it’s not the same hairdo, but the braiding technique is super clear - although, I did try THAT tutorial hairdo too, and I couldn't make it work with my hair, so fair warning. But man, this one was tough with that first video fail - the person just didn’t make any sense, kept prattling on. After the 8th attempt I kinda got it, although it came out very puffy and messy (looks great when I draw it though, eh? the magic of photoshop). NOW I finally get it after seeing the tutorial I linked. On the plus side, we had obscene amounts of pizza at work, and I ate way too much but it was amazing. And on sunday my hair just didn’t make sense so I left it cause I wasn’t really doing anything but running errands, so only 5 this week. I got braids 4 dayz planned for this and next week, so hang in there, my hair and scalp!

WOW FINALLY DONE AND ALL IN 1 NIGHT AND I DID IT AND IT LOOKS ACTUALLY OK WHAT IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW oh it's 5 in the morning as I write this and I'll probably hate it later that's why BUT RIGHT NOW I FEEL GREAT! short explanation: I've been trying out different hair styles, and I needed practice drawing hair! No tutorial, yall know how to do this with a scrunchie in ur sleep. 2. ROPE BRAIDS ARE TEH SAVIOR OF TIME AND STYLE seriously it takes 5 minutes to learn and 10 seconds to do once you get it, they're so cute and fast and I got called Tiger Lily all day. Unfortunately my hair was friggin greasy, EVEN THOUGH I WASHED IT THE NIGHT BEFORE WHAT THE HECK FOLLICLES 3. CHAINLINK BRAID WHAT IS THIS MADNESS HOW HOW HOW IS THAT REAL!? Psych IT'S ACTUALLY ONLY 2 ROPE BRAIDS TWISTED TOGETHER WHAT NOW SON. I'm for real. It looked great. Lotsa compliments. This tut is from a Mormon mom who does her kid's hair. 4. Did a really messy bun cause I was running late and my hair decided to be greasy again. It's clearly time for me to switch conditioners and shampoo. Stuck a fork/spoon/dinglehopper/chopstick in it. Not tutorial worthy, but it does prove the point that a bun + red lipstick = people think you look AMAZING dunno why 5. FAIRY BRAIDS! HEYO! So cute felt like a lil hipsterflowercrownprincess all day and someone called me a frozen fairy mermaid so heck yes 10/10 would recommend it's hard to do if your hair is in layers but if you use enough hairspray you should be good. Oh, and give yourself some time. I didn't, and had to redo it in the bathroom at work. #hardcoreglam 6. Had a friend straighten my hair for me and looked like a hungry lion. I was, because I was fasting so I could go have a all you can eat dinner with my buddies. No tutorial but when I straighten it on my own I'll send a good link if I find it. My buddy did a great job tho I felt so fine all night and I did the best hairflips. Then we all stuffed our faces and I PACED MYSELF AND DIDN'T EXPLODE YAY ME That's all for now! Was inspired by the amazing loish ‘s art to try and do a style close to her's... Didn't come out that way, but at least I kind of like the end result! Ah well. THIS piece I've wanted to do for AGES... I was just never quite there art level wise... So I stuck it on the back burner... Looking at it now makes me think I still should have waited, but I'll probably just end up redoing it in the future... At least I got the idea out... Er... If it's not clear, it's like an alternate future where empaths are used as like rentable psychiatrists... Like prostitutes... I got the idea from Minority Report (one of the best movies ever) where in the red light fantasy scene some guys are going crazy and some are just being promoted or being appreciated or being in love and stuff... So yeah. Her original color is blue, but all the other possible colors are bleeding into her... Uhhhh that's all. Not my best but I'm kinda happy with it AND LOOK I'M DOING RAINBOWS AGAIN after that last piece I needed a break ;) Good practice, cheers, and don't hate pls

cause then after that, everything dragged on and on and I got bored and lost with it and wanted to draw like 5 other things but I knew I had to finish which made me procrastinate even more

but uh here she is Giselle is a real downer of a ballet which is basically a tragic love story but I like it cause she comes back as a ghost fairy in the end. That's literally all I like about it though. Ghost fairies. The rest is just depressing. BUT I had this REALLY cool picture I wanted to draw:

So I did, and it was from a production of Giselle and so I went with it... This is actually my take on her pre-tranformation though. She ain't full ghost yet. I really wanna do her as a full ghost, but we'll see if I can finish it in one sitting. This is more her humanity becoming stripped away, which is why it's all pastel. The photo doesn't REALLY match the picture, but I think I captured some of the face (eh?) so yeah.

uhhhh there's a lot of things wrong with it but I'm happy/tired enough to be done with it. Whee. Pls don't hate and cheers!
