You’re sitting, or laying, or maybe standing reading what I’ve wrote in some capacity. If you’ve never heard me speak then right now you’re trying to figure out what my voice might sound like. That’s usually what a person does when they read something someone has wrote. Its a sub-conscious thing we do but don’t actually think about doing. That is the beauty of our sub-conscious. Its always on, always on cruise control. What I just did was pretty effective because it made you think about your sub-conscious and hopefully that thought process will remain with you when you are done reading this piece. Putting yourself in my shoes is an interesting thought as well. Trying to figure out why I wrote this piece in this style, what my purpose was, and how could I do something so beautiful. Do you think you’re beautiful? If beauty is in the eye of the beholder and you can’t behold yourself as beautiful then I don’t know what to say to you. As you’re reading this I want you to continue reading but at the same time I want you to think about how perfect your smile is, how delightful it is to stare deep into your eyes, and last but not least the happiness somebody feels when you hug them. The perfect imperfections from your neck down that can only be appreciated by someone equally as beautiful. Everybody has nipples you know.
You read the words I’ve chose to put down on paper and there may be thoughts running through your mind about today, yesterday, or tomorrow and that right there is why reading is the most intimate and personal activity that you can do. Its just you, your sub-conscious thoughts that you choose not to control, your conscious thoughts you choose to control, and your imagination. In order for my words to be effective I have to find a way to temporarily take control of your imagination. I want you to imagine where I could be as I’m writing this. I won’t give you any hints or clues but I’m pretty comfortable. You ask yourself what is comfortable to you. Then I ask you why do you put yourself in uncomfortable situations. You and I both know that doesn’t make sense but you may give an excuse, to yourself or figuratively to me that you can control that. Do you also realize that this whole time you’ve placed yourself in a comfortable situation while reading this all because you chose to. Your mind is so powerful and your thoughts are the fuel to give it said power. You think about something good and something good happens. Whether that good is you smiling, going to get something to eat thus stop yourself from being hungry, or decide that you should stop drinking because you’re too drunk.
See I just sneezed and oddly enough I bit my tongue. That doesn’t have to be bad. Its only bad if I create the thought in my mind that its bad. Did it hurt? Yes. Is my life different because I bit my tongue? Yes. How different is your life when you bite your tongue? How much does your life change? What if from now on every time you bite your tongue you laugh like you heard the funniest joke ever. An even better cause and effect would be this: you’re walking in your living room with no socks on, as your right foot lifts off of the floor and swings forward to take you in the direction of where you want to go, your pinky toe rams into the bottom corner of the coffee table. Now that is painful. Is it bad? No. First, this event in your life is the beginning of the rest of your life. You breathe deeply trying to cope with the pain and with the first exhale you laugh uncontrollably. All that was bothering you prior has now been forgotten, nothing else in the world matters but you trying to move on with your life in a direction that is comfortable to you. That’s a really good thing. Progress. Progress is something that we should be constantly focused on and now you are focused on progressing. Was any part of this event bad? No. It just was. It was just another event in your life that happened. Better yet the pain that you felt throughout your body, especially in your pinky toe wasn’t even bad. It just was there. It was a moment in your life where you felt more alive than ever before. Your purpose is to live. When you stubbed your pinky toe you had one of the most lived moments of your life. Congrats.
Nothing is ever bad or good, it just is. You now realize and have the ability to control whether every situation in your life is either good or bad. With so much power in your hands why would you ever choose for a situation to be bad again?
What makes You who you are is how you are reading what I’m writing. What makes you who you are is how you handle the events in your life. What makes you who you are is what you do with the information you see with your eyes; whether it is a tweet, status update on facebook, or if its being involved in a car accident. These experiences and how you handle them make you who you are. There will only be one you and if you allow any of the 3 things I mentioned (or anything else) influence you in a way that makes you uncomfortable then you are cheating yourself. If you allow those 3 things I mentioned influence you in a way that makes you similar to another person who is going through the same thing, well now you are less you and more them. Comfort, goodness, and identity. These 3 things are objects that you have the power to control with something simple as a thought. One thought can control all 3, and in turn affect your life in drastic ways.
I want you to begin imagining that I’m in an extremely loud room. The room is so loud that if you were sitting next to me, it would be extremely difficult to hear each other. Now I want you to walk to the beach with me. Its nobody there and the sun is getting ready to set. You took your mind from an extremely loud and chaotic environment to someplace that was tranquil and pleasant. Do you see how powerful your thoughts are simply by activating your imagination. Your imagination is the key to the door that opens the rest of your life. Nothing is ever good or bad it just is, you choose whether that ‘it’ is good or bad. Imagine the rest of your life. How much good and how much bad do you imagine? You have the power to imagine nothing but good so why would you imagine anything bad? You may call yourself realistic, if you answered that question like “well everything can’t be good”. You call yourself realistic, I call you stupid. While you sit, lay, or stand you’ve learned through what you’ve just read that you have the power to control whether any situation in your life is good or bad. Anything that happens to you, anything that you go through simply exists. It does not come with emotions or feelings. What it may come with is a preconceived thought of how you should feel because of past experiences that you’ve gone through or how you’ve seen others react to a similar event but even that is a feeling that you’ve attached to an event, not an emotion that came with the event. Upon the creation of that event it was emotionless, without feeling. You attached something good or bad to it. You have the power to always make everything good and never experience ‘bad’ again. That and that alone will make you you and unlike anyone else on this planet.
You’re writing a story about your life every day and you don’t need any physical object. Not a pen, not a computer, not a phone to write in or anything. All you need are your thoughts. Your actions are the pen. Don’t allow your pen to create ‘bad’. Don’t ever allow your pen to create ‘bad’. Why would you do such a thing, now that you know how to write a happy ending? Why would you do such a thing knowing that what and how you write your story can affect millions of people and come back and affect you in the most harmful way out of everyone. You want to be comfortable, you have to create comfort for others. If you choose not to then your story will be affected in ways that you may not like. How? We, the world, us, your immediate surroundings all operate like a beautiful machine and when one part becomes faulty, another part becomes faulty, and so on and so on and eventually the engine will die, and the machine will no longer function.
You want to be comfortable, you want to be the best you you can be, and you want ‘good’. Take control of your thoughts. Use your imagination to the fullest. And never forget: nothing is ever bad or good it just is, you decide whether that ‘it’ is bad or good and why would you ever want something to be bad.
