I've seen some memes about it being too soon for school supplies (we don't go back until the end of August; southern folks you have my condolences on going back to school in July) and I just gotta say, if you don't go to the stores, you won't see them. Grocery pick up and being a hermit are winning choices.

I interviewed three teachers today with my principal and an assistant principal. I was the only person with no visible tattoos in the room.

I think about my parents and the general attitudes of people 20 years ago when I graduated high school and it’s so crazy how they told us that tattoos would be seen as unprofessional and limit us. I wonder if there are fields where people still do care about these fields? Education mostly seems not to here.

Idk. No point. Just a thought.

I have to go interview candidates at 8:30 tomorrow. I haven’t gotten out of bed before 8:30 since I left the beach. And I’m so deep into summer mode I don’t even know how many weeks ago that was.

So. Boo.

One of my teachers resigned last week. July is no-man's-land in so many ways. No one is working. No one wants to work. No one wants to think about work. And our deadline for hiring anyone already employed is July 15; after that, they could jeopardize their certification if they try to take a different position and just like 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

Me: packed everything I need for a week at the beach in three bags. I win. So good.

Me two days later: washed my hair and realized I have zero styling products for my curly hair. Zero. At the beach. Where it’s salty and humid.

They are three other people in his house and not a drop of hair gel or cream or leave in to be found. My mom told me she just lets her thick, shiny, with hair a hint of wave, hair air dry with no product all the time. What 🤯

Needless to say, I had to pit stop in ulta today on our shopping trip 🙈

I’m sitting on a beach with a sleeping baby in my arms and I swear this is peace.
