Ideas for characters for a short sci-fi story for Earth Dream 2016 (FREE indie anthology). Art by Miguel Guerra. http://www.7robots.com/earthdream/
Alex from Clockwork Orange! I saw this online and had to give it a try. I tried to follow a tutorial (http://witchnofret-handcraft.blogspot.com.es/2014/02/clockwork-orange-pattern.html), but things weren’t matching up (may have been the translation), but I learn as I go and all in all, he's pretty cool. The next time I make this, I’ll have many improvements, like a smaller head and longer legs. It's the first time I weaved in hair, so that was interesting too. A fun project that has already received a lot of interest.
Here's something a little different. My daughter requested a Hello Kitty purse for her birthday so I tried my best. I think it turned out pretty darn cute. I ended up using different patterns and ideas, but this hat tutorial had a lot of tips like the ears and the bow http://hoffeeandanuffin.blogspot.com.es/2013/01/hello-kitty-cat-ears-tutorial.html. The eyes and nose are felt.

Pencils for our upcoming FREE sci-fi and fantasy 100% indie anthology - Earth Dream! Look for more news in September for the release date.
Beautiful artwork and a good history book by Milo Manara on Caravaggio.
I received my copy of Warped: The Strange and Heroic anthology from Mas Means More Studios. I can’t believe the caliber of art! It’s an honor to be included. Being the great guy that he is, Anibal Arroyo also gave me a copy of his fantastic kids book - Lil’ Steve’s Closet and a tote backpack. My kids will LOVE it!
I just finished Jiji from Kiki’s Delivery Service. I was excited to receive this request since I’ve always liked the movie and think Jiji is adorable. It stands 8" (21cm) tall. I added a pipe cleaner in the tail for stability and movement. Although the nose should be pink, I made it blue for my client. I wasn’t sure how to approach it at first, so I broke the body down the different shapes and assembled them all. The head and body are one piece.
Another Angry Bird - this time Terence, the Big Brother Bird. To make him quite large I followed this free 30 row sphere pattern: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ideal-crochet-sphere. I used felt for the spots and eyebrow. I also crocheted the tummy with an uneven line (not a perfect circle) to match the game/cartoon a bit more.
Abenomics: Miracle cure with no side effects (*except for unsustainable bubbles). New Merry Felonies cartoon from Miguel Guerra and Suzy Dias for IDEA Economics http://www.ideaeconomics.org/guerracartoons/2015/4/15/abenomics
My first crack at Angry Birds. There were a lot of things to learn for the different pieces. Planet June had tons of very helpful tutorials on general techniques, including the i-cord tube I used for her tail (I made 3) and how to sew your pieces neatly together...which I’m working on. For me, assembling everything is the hardest part. http://www.planetjune.com/blog/tutorials/crochet-tutorials/

My first crack at Angry Birds for my son. The minion (right) pig was the first. As I worked things out, I decided to make the eyes and nose bug out less for King Pig. A couple of helpful links were for the crown: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQEt7mgCqQw and for different size spheres: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ideal-crochet-sphere
Miguel Guerra’s “Super Corporate Heroes” (graphic novel) paintings at the Latinos In Comics Exhibiton were a great success! A big thank you to Ray Felix of the Bronx Heroes Comic Con for organizing this and inviting us to join in the fun! http://www.bxhcc.com/
A little white cat for my daughter. It stands up really well on its big feet and the stitch I used ended up looking like toes. A fortunate accident. I also added a pipe cleaner to the tail so we could move it around a bit.
3-Eyed Monster - oh yeah! My 6-year-old described what he wanted, including 3 eyes on top, 6 legs (although I could only fit 5 and used the 6th as a tail) and a 'King Pig' smile. I think we made a good team.
