These are a few of the headers made for the 2014 US Open on Reddit. Since the Aussie Open this year, I've been trying to take the time to create enough headers to be able to rotate multiple designs throughout each Slam's progression. I'm disappointed that I didn't have enough time when the French rolled around this year. Only Slam I missed.

"The Big Four" Poster Set, 2014. Federer is complete. The next players to cover: Djokovic, Murray, and Nadal. I just really wanted a smooth poster collection of these guys, so I went for it. Maybe I can eventually make these into prints when I’ve got the entire set to work with.

A handful of other Reddit Tennis designs from throughout 2013. These were all implemented at different times during different tournaments. Stylistically, I was usually pretty loud with the compositions. I had particular fun trying to make the US Open canvas as gritty as I could. This year I'm going for more restraint and minimalism (See below).

As the design moderator of Reddit's official tennis forum, I'm tasked with creating custom themes for all Grand Slam and Masters 1000 events. This keeps me busy and creative when I don't have paying gigs. For the Australian Open this year, I decided to do an entire themed set (as opposed to the usual singular graphic). Every few days of the tournament, the page's header would alternate. For whatever reason, Australian Open Photographers have made a trend of taking lots of aerial shots of players, every year. I guess it's so they can show off that sweet Melbourne logo. It is pretty sweet. So anyway, this is what I based the theme off of and gathered my source material from. The monochromatic blues of the court & surrounding arena allowed for a really effective way to keep minimalistic approaches to color, with bold white court lines breaking up the patterning beautifully.
