low cal garlic veggie soup!

This is a super easy recipe makes about 2 cups but can be diluted more :)

Total is 46 cals but 23 per serve

Ingredients 

1 stock cube (7 cals)

2 cups water (0 cal)

1 egg white (17 cals)

30g carrots *about half a regular carrot (12 cals)

10g spinach (2 cals)

1 garlic clove (4 cals)

5g chilli, garlic and onion paste (4 cals)

How to

dice the spinach and carrots to preferred size (I like a mix of cubes and slices)

crush garlic

put a pot and frying pan on the stove and turn them both on low

In the pot add the water and stock cube and stir 

In the frying pan add garlic, chilli paste, carrots and spinach and mix

Cook until the stock cube is dissolved and the carrots have softened 

Add egg whit on top of the ingredients in the frying pan and start mixing fast

Make sure egg is cooked thinly and into small chunks

Add contents of the frying pan to soy pot and continue to stir over heat

Pour into 2 cups and enjoy :)

I know it sounds weird but the egg takes on the flavor of everything else and it’s so nice. The chilli, onion and garlic paste I used is from Woolworths and the brand is ‘stonemil’ it’s really good for flavor at 4cals-5g

Simple 100 calories 5 ingredient biscuit recipes

A simple 5 ingredient biscuit recipe for those who want to enjoy biscuits without the extra calories

1 cup self-rising flour

½ tablespoon granulated sugar

½ cup plain Greek yogurt

¼ cup milk

A punch of salt

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 425°. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Place the yogurt into a container, then place this container into a bowl of warm water. Additionally, pour out the milk before you begin so it has times to warm up. This will help the biscuits rise more.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk flour, salt and sugar together.

Add yogurt and half of the milk, stirring until the dough starts to come together.

Slowly add little amounts of the remaining milk until the dough forms. You may not need the entire amount of milk.

Knead the biscuit dough until smooth - it will be a sticky. Don't overwork the dough.

Place the dough on a heavily floured surface, using your hands, form the dough into a rectangle that’s width is twice it’s height and approximately ⅜ ‘s an inch thick, then fold the dough over to form a square. Slice the dough into four equal squares.

Place the cut out biscuit dough on a baking sheet, about an inch apart from each other. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown.

While I personally haven’t tried it you could add in other unflavored supplement powders such as protein powder for some extra nutrients and only a 5 cal increase per biscuit

how i got back into my honeymoon phase . . .

guilt

i dont know what it is about feeling guilty but it really has an effect on me thats kind of unexplainable. i would sit in my bed for hours being so guilty over binging or overeating and im sure, if you’re reading this, you’ve felt that as well. when i would feel this guilt i looked in the mirror and would pull my face back, bodycheck, all of the above while saying mean things to myself. it would give me a thrill and make me ecstatic to starve the next day.

“meanspo’ing” myself

when i would say rude things to myself i’d say things such as “wouldn’t you be happier?” or “you have so much potential, its not that hard to starve.” and say it very condescendingly. it would bring my back to when i’d get bullied, it gave me that same embarrassed and ashamed feeling.

dieting

now, im gonna be honest with y’all because no one else will, diets are really a hit or miss. some people can stick to it and some can’t which is completely okay! diets are never gonna be the end all be all. especially the ABC diet. try sticking to med-high res such as 800-1000 cals a day and gradually go lower and see if you can attempt a diet! ill post some of my recently saved diets soon.

fasting

i usually fast 18hrs a day but because of school it ends up being 20-21hrs! also i HIGHLY recommend bringing snacks to school just incase you get nauseous, be careful with yourself. i used to eat at 1-2pm and start my fast around 30 mins after incase i was still a bit hungry. this ultimately ended my fasts in the early morning and ill do a separate blog on fasting bc its a lot to get into!

a note to anyone who needs it;

its okay if you overate/went over your limit. its your body telling you that you needed the extra food! you are doing great. our bodies naturally have their limits. the guilt seems never ending, but what happens does not define your journey whatsoever. :)
