Strange-4: Bump in the night
Deviation point: In the distant past, unknown beings from the stars played with Earth's genetic soup like a box of Legos.
Advice so you stay breathing:
There's always something in the woods, so keep a gun on you.
If you live in a city, you're probably being followed or watched, so keep a gun on you.
If you live out in the country, always lock your doors, lay out some traps, and keep a gun on you.
If you go outside at night, go in a group and keep a gun on you.
Well, first off, Sasquatches, which come in different colors just like us, most of them are chill, save for Yetis, don't mess with Yetis, ever. Never go to Jersey, JD is alive, and he has family. Not to mention all the not-deer; there's a 1-in-3 chance the doe you saw wasn't a doe. And those are just a few in the USA.
Then there are the monsters that look like you or me. That can take life without much in the line of apprehension. Sure, there are the average ones who come about due to how they were "raised" and/or the abnormalities in their biological development. Now, imagine a few variations of a particular gene that not only guarantee their psychological makeup but also instill some innate abilities and traits that turn them into something... supernatural.
These intraspecific predators have an extensive knowledge of anatomy from a young age. They can cut and slice better than any surgeon or butcher. And know that it will be years, nay decades, before anyone finds their victims, if they hide them anyway.
They can see in the dark. Their bodies are stronger and faster than any athlete's. Their endurance can outmatch a honey badger. They have the equilibrium of a cat along the ears and nose of a hound.
Here's the good news: they are a minority. The bad news: they're one-third of the population.
They come in three types. There are upfront ones who do not hide what they are, who take life on whatever fancy or whim takes them. Second, are the maskers, who keep average lifestyles, who are particular about who and how they kill. Lastly, are the distant, most of whom are artisans and craftsmen, who have relationships, of which are often few, and those who mess with them or their loved ones aren't found.
These are not hyperbole, just facts, and that is what will keep you alive.
