Are the merman and the fairy named characters with a story behind them? 💙
Unfortunately not, I was just practicing drawing characters interacting. Maybe I'll do more illustrations with them. Thanks for asking 💙💙💙

Here's the cover for the Legends & Lattes graphic novel adaptation that my friend Shanti and I have been making over the last year! I'm super excited that this was just announced, and should be available to cozy up with this fall. :)
Process below - it was really fun to collaborate with Shanti and pass the work back and forth. Our process for the comic pages was pretty similar.

its incredible that there are people in this world who are rude on purpose. i'm rude on accident and 6 years later i'll still be thinking about it with my heart beating so fast it feels like i'm going to pass out and my hands sweating and the sickness and the sickness and th

I can’t tell you how much I love this artwork from ancient Egypt (the Middle Kingdom). People have been raising cattle and practicing animal husbandry for so long, that there is something almost inherently human about this scene.
Everyone in the field of veterinary medicine or agriculture knows the feeling of staying up late with a laboring animal trying to make sure both mom and baby are okay. Delivering a calf is often physically and emotionally exhausting work that takes enormous patience and learned skill. It requires a unique balance of physical strength and gentleness to do correctly. There is no feeling quite like getting that baby out and everyone is okay. I’m certain ancient people must have felt the same way, and I wonder if the artist knew this feeling firsthand. I wonder if those humans depicted were people the artist knew, if the cow and calf maybe were as well.

Donations to mutual aid groups have dropped by half since the ceasefire was announced. The bombs may have quieted, but the suffering hasn’t stopped— Palestinians in Gaza still need our help. Please, if you’re able, donate today:

I’ve kept quiet about the ceasefire just in case this turned out like the other ones before it, but it’s looking like it will last a bit longer, and I’m grateful for it - for Gaza to have a moment to breathe after everything.
However I can’t really celebrate. There are still thousands of Palestinians in Israeli prisons, Gaza is mostly rubble, so many missing and dead and injured, Israel still occupies Palestine, and there is also the fear of actors working on behalf of Israel to inflict terror on Palestinians - like the murder of journalist Saleh Al-Jafarawi. I don’t want people to act like the genocide is over, it isn’t, it’s just going to take a different shape - one I fear people will be more able to ignore. A ceasefire is not an end to genocide nor is it a Free Palestine, and I’m really really tired of people acting like it. Don’t lie to our faces and treat the bare minimum like an end to the fight.

if you’re going to talk about the mass starvation of Palestinians (which thank you) and the long term epigenetic affects please don’t forget about Sudan. the Sudani people are going through one of the worst starvations in history. more than 24 Million are facing acute hunger, with an estimated 500,000 children alone already dead from starvation. please be vocal about the horrors happening in Sudan right now. they will feel it for generations to come as well and it is just as heartbreaking and anger at the world inducing and important to speak on it especially in the context of the dangers of forced famine

Love when Gringos, specially from north America approach the Bolsonaro trial with "I can't believe Brazil has more democracy than us" like we're a bunch of savages with no laws and it's somehow surprising to see Brazil jailing a man who attempted a coup.
It just shows you see Latinos like they're somehow less civilized than yourself, really and it's not the compliment you think it is
Did you know Brazil has set chairs for black people to study in college or get jobs in the public sphere? Did you know Brazil have the biggest universal healthcare system in the world? Did you know we have solid labor laws in place? Did you know gay marriage has been legalized since 2009, 5 years before it was legalized in USA? Did you know we have social name in place since 2016 so trans people can be called by their chosen names before they change it legally? Did you know we have free universities and colleges that are considered the best ones in the country? Of course not because all you guys think when you think about Brazil is gangs, drug smuggling and getting robbed because y'all think that all of Latino america is some kind of criminal paradise
Brazil went through a dictatorship backed by USA from 64 to 85. A lot of our problems nowadays happened because of that, and USAmericans have the gall to think were less civlized than then from a lack of our own instead of being systematically killed, oppressed and taken advantage of
