This bait is genuinely terrible but it does make me want to briefly talk about how people do think like this, and make absurd arguments as to why black edits are harmful 😭

Like "well its obvious your just trying to make them more black" like what do you think is going to happen when you add black features to something??? The people who try to defend the notion that blackwashing exists dont really care about Blasians or about the idea that multiracial people exist, like that is infact a reality of life, mixed people exist, and feeling as if blackness taints something is a gross mindset, especially given people in real life exist in realities where they are born into or practice multiple cultures due to being mixed, not to mention that these edits don't ever have effect on the real canon and are purely made for love and fun especially in an industry that rarely includes us well if at all, you cannot compare this to whitewashing, black people are not on top of the system we don't make black edits to suppress, hide, cover up or opress other people of color or white people, which is what whitewashing DOES do and not just in art or fiction by the way, see Jesus, the state of the film industry replacing actors of color in roles they should be in with white actors, colorism, etc..By saying "blackwashing" you are saying we oppress other groups by covering up their culture and identity by adding black features or cultural nods, which is what people in real life are like...I guess Blasian people are "tainting" the other cultures they're apart of, right?

Another thing people don't think about is the fact you can literally do this with black characters too, if you like a black character you can headcanon them as Afro-Indigenous or Afro-Asian, or Afro-Arab, etc, you would not be taking away from the character by adding features and culture to them, which is what black edits do.
