New and a bit Alarming (Belle)
Stepping out of the shadows and coming into full view, the little cub could see the one called Lumiere conversing with what appeared to be a human of some kind. She didn’t look at all like the ones who had taken him. The woman seemed…different somehow.
The young prince’s ears were pinned back ever so slightly as he stared at her, taking in her features. Deciding that she seemed to be okay and obviously wanted to help, the cub limped forward inching ever closer. Would she be completely freaked out at his ability to talk? Well, if these things, whatever they were spoke, then perhaps he’d be okay and not scare the poor woman half to death.
“Uh..Hi.” Might as well just come out and say something at least. “My name’s Simba and I kinda got lost.” Well that was rather obvious wasn’t it? “And is…well is it okay if I stay here? Just till my leg gets better?” Knowing that she was there to help and not hurt him brought a great deal of comfort to the young lion. So much so that he could feel his ears perking up a tad. “If not I can find someplace else.”
Belle blinked in surprised awe as the cub spoke. She hadn't known that animals could talk too! Her smile widened a tad as she reached her outstretched hand to lightly brush her fingers through the cub’s fur in a comforting fashion. “It’s lovely to meet you Simba. My name is Belle, and you are more then welcome to stay here for as long as you need.” She said holding out her arms to gesture around her while she spoke.
The creaking sound of the cart’s moving wheels were soon heard as Mrs. Potts and a sleepy Chip entered the room, a washbowl filled with warm water, a rag, and some bandages next to them as had been requested. “Oh my, the poor thing.” The old tea pot commented before nodding in response to a thanks from Belle as she took the items.
She moved them over to the middle of the carpet just in front of the fire then headed back to Simba. “Now, I hope you don’t mind but I’m going to pick you up so you needn’t have to walk on that injured leg of yours anymore.” She explained before slowly reaching to pick up the small cub and move to where she’d placed the items.
Setting the cub own carefully on her lap Belle took the rag in hand placing it in the water for a moment. “I take it those horrid wolves did this to you.” She said with a sigh as she rung out excess water from the rag. “Now, this may sting a little but it’s to help clean your wound.” She warned before beginning to gently dab the cut to clean it of the blood and dirt that clung to it.

storytime in the tower; rapunzel & belle.
“It’s nice to meet you, too, Belle,” Rapunzel responded with a bright grin. “That’s a really pretty name, by the way.”
The smile on her face faded into a frown now, however. Although she told Belle if she came up, she could help her, Rapunzel honestly wasn’t sure how. She didn’t really know her way around the forest, and if she left to help her, there was a chance they’d both get lost. Rapunzel highly doubted Mother would be so understanding if she left again. Inviting anyone up was already risky enough, but as it stood, she couldn’t just ignore a person stumbling upon her tower when she craved contact with the outside world so much.
A nervous smile formed on her lips, her hands in front of her now, fingers fiddling nervously. “Uhhh, see, the problem is, I’ve only been out of this tower once. So I don’t really know my way around the forest.” She threw Belle an apologetic look. “Where did you get lost at, though? I can do my best to help. Or maybe we can try going into the village? Some people may be able to help there.”
“Why thank you, you’re name is rather lovely too.” Belle said with a smile of her own.
Her lips curled into a thoughtful pout as Rapunzel explained her situation. The idea of going to the near-by village wasn’t a bad one actually. “Let’s see...I’d been n the forests around the castle.” She began to murmurer to herself as she tried to remember when exactly it was she’d ended up somewhere unfamiliar. “I believe it was at the fork in he road I’d decided to take a new route that must’ve been when I’d started on my way towards unfamiliar territory.” She figured with a small shrug.
She nodded. “A trip into town may be a good idea but, first....if you don’t mind.” Brown eyes began to glance about the tower again. “Do you live here? By yourself?” The brunette asked in genuine curiosity.

New and a bit Alarming (Belle)
It had been only a few days since the passing of his Father, and Simba was still feeling as if it had just happened only mere hours ago. In fact, the former prince was so down about the whole situation, that he didn’t even care that he had been captured by some desert bandits, who had somehow arrived in the Nyiri Desert, and shipped off to some other country. He couldn’t understand what they were saying, nor did he really care. At least for the time being he was out of the Pridelands, just like his Uncle had suggested.
The two men placed the tranquilized cub on a crate and began their trek back to the States, only to stop in France to resupply. During feeding time, the cub eventually escaped from his captors and was now free once again.
As time passed, the young cub plodded onward towards who knew where, but as luck would have it, there was a castle at the end of the road. Though he was practically running for his life by this point, since a pack of wolves was descending upon him like vultures on a carcass. Squeezing through the iron bars of the gate, he made his way up the steps and limped inside.
“H-hello?” The sudden pain that shot through his leg caused the youngster’s leg to buckle on the spot. Apparently one of the wolves had given him a good hard nip while he was trying to escape. but being a stubborn little lion, Simba summoned up what strength he had and continued on down the darkened hallway. “I-…Ow! I was wondering if it was okay if I could…stay here. If anybody is even here…”
“Of course Monsieur! You are most welcome here!” Came a voice accompanied by the soft glow of candlelight. Simba’s dark chocolate rimmed ears perked up almost immediately. “Who said that?” The cub asked, glancing about. “Over here.” It was then that the candelabra was spotted. “Y-you talk!” This wasn’t some kind of animal! It didn’t have fur at all! “Yes, yes I do. Come right this way!” Lumiere answered with a smile, beckoning the little animal to follow. What kind of crazy place had he ended up in? That was the question that weighed on his mind at this very moment…
Even from within the castle walls Belle could hear the chilling howls of the wolf pack that haunted the forest. She shivered slightly as the memory of their attack flashed into her mind for a moment before being melted away by the sweet soothing warmth of the fire she sat beside.
The brunette sighed and tucked a strand of hair out of her face before turning the page in the book she was reading. The night was quiet as the beast was away to wherever it was he tended to roam. The servants had passed through the room where she was relaxing many a time to provide her with company for sometime before heading off to attended to some matter.
Belle’s gaze lifted from the pages of her book as she heard the sound of Lumiere hopping along the stone floor towards the foyer. Curious she sat up a bit as the candelabra rounded the corner of the door and into the room. “Bonjour Lumiere, what bring you here?” She asked with a smile.
Lumiere returned the smile before turning behind him to glance at something. “Come along mon ami! You needn’t worry! I’ve brought you to someone who can help you!” He explained to his mysterious companion before glancing back at the now confused woman. “I found this little one outside on the castle steps.” He explained once the cub had made him way into the room.
“Oh!” Belle gasped at the sight of the cub and immediately closed her book. she stood and slowly made her way closer to where the poor creature was and knelled down to be a bit more level with him. “You poor thing! I wonder where you’ve come from.” Her eyes traveled over the cub as she sighed upon seeing his wound. “Those horrid wolves...” she murmured glancing over at Lumiere.
“Would you mind fetching me some warm water, a towel, and some bandages please?” She asked sweetly receiving a nod in response as the candelabra turned and hopped off to retrieve the requested items.
Brown eyes turn back the the cub for a moment as she slowly reaches out a hand towards the cub. “You’ll be alright little one, I promise I mean you no harm I only wish to help.” She explained with her palm outstretched towards the cub.
storytime in the tower; rapunzel & belle.
As soon as the woman below gave confirmation, Rapunzel began pulling, her hair clutched between her hands. Years of experience made it an easy task – no less tiring, but she grew used to it over the years. After a moment or two, the woman came into view. A few more tugs put her level with the window sill.
“You can step through now.” She smiled apologetically. “Sorry this is kind of a weird way of getting inside, but it’s really all I’ve got.”
Finally able to let go of her hair, she gathered it all back inside and let it fall to the ground. “Anyway, I’m Rapunzel!” she announced cheerfully, folding her hands behind her and rocking back and forth on her feet. Instinctively, she hovered near where she set down the frying pan – just in case, though she didn’t think she would need it. She could sense a lot of kindness in this woman, and Rapunzel liked to think she wasn’t quite so naive as Mother liked to think. “You, uh…said you were lost?”
A small startled gasp escaped Belle’s lips as she was pulled upwards to the window at the top of the tower. Her fingers curled more into the golden locks they held as she moved along.
Belle smiled as she came into view of the girl she’d been speaking to then turn her gaze down so as to watch her footing while she climbed carefully over the window still and into the tower. she released the hair once her feet hit the stone of the tower floor and her eyes traveled around at the sight before her.
The walls were covered in many bright paintings each of which were all very lovely. Her attention was snapped away from the sight as the golden haired girl spoke again. “Oh! My name is Belle.’ She responded clasping her hands before her. “It’s lovely to meet you Rapunzel.”
The brunette nodded and turned to look outside, wondering if she could see much from where they stood, but as it would turn out the stone around the clearing was high enough to cover much view of the forest outside. “I am,” she began turning to look back at Rapunzel, “I went out for a short morning walk and must’ve taken a wrong turn.”
"Don't move! There's a giant blue butterfly in your hair!"
Belle’s eyes raise from the pages of her book to the source of the strange voice only to see a lion cub crouched before her. Though surprised she did as ask and remained still having felt the delicate legs of the butterfly moving about the locks of her hair.
“Just be careful.” She quietly noted to the cub with a sweet smile on her face.
Belle, it’s me!
Oh, it’s no use. She’s so beautiful, and I’m… Well, look at me!
storytime in the tower; rapunzel & belle.
Rapunzel knew she shouldn’t let the woman up. She was already in an enormous amount of trouble..but could she really turn away the opportunity? Mother would be gone for a few days, and right now, her boredom and loneliness far outweighed the fear of potentially getting into further trouble. So maybe things didn’t go as planned for her, and maybe she got hurt. But there was plenty of good on her trip to the kingdom, as well. She couldn’t just give up on the outside world and go back to the way things were – not after getting a taste of it.
So, after a few moments hesitation, Rapunzel let herself smile and nodded down at the woman (though Rapunzel doubted she could actually see the action). “Yes, just give me a second! I’ll let you up,” she called down.
Gathering up her hair once more, she hooked it above the window and started lowering it down. Once most of it hung down the side of the tower, she leaned out the window again. “Loop up the end and use it as a foothold. If you hold on, I can bring you up,” she instructed.
Let her up? But how? Belle wondered as she glanced towards the base of the tower again. She was certain there had been door, maybe the girl was going to let down a ladder or rope maybe? The brunette figured as she glanced back up at the window just as the cascade of golden hair was thrown down towards her.
As the girl spoke Belle couldn’t help brush her fingers through the silky strands before her. She’d never seen so much hair before! She took up the end of it and did as told, holding on tightly. “Um, ready when you are.” She called up.
Though she didn’t know the girl well, it was easy enough to tell that she was at least trustworthy enough she wouldn’t let Belle fall, but that didn’t mean she wasn’t hesitant to be pulled up a tower by someone’s hair! But, if it was her only means of finding her way back, what was there to lose?
