WAIT
IT’S SOO-WON’S BIRTHDAY?? I MADE JUSU ART on Suwon’s birthday BY ACCIDENT dfhgbdjfdv I HAD COMPLETELY FORGOTTEN
i have returned to leave this here and i will now proceed to be gone for the next 3 years again sdhfsh
I have returned from the grave to let you all know that if Suwon dies for no reason I will riot.
bye again and love yall, I miss drawing akayona stuff, maybe I’ll make something sometime soon ;-;
This is kinda funny in hindsight, because at first you read it and think “oh, was Yuhon interested in the dragons, too? Did he want their powers for war or something?” But no, it turns out that Keishuk is probably remembering how Yuhon was like “shut up about the dragons shut up about the dragons” until his actual dying breath and this is less “if only Lord Yuhon had lived to see these legendary warriors” and more “man, if Lord Yuhon were alive he’d be so fucking pressed right now”
Yonhi’s genes do be strong tho
how about a gutwreching scene with Yonhi and Keishuk.
First of all: *wraps suwon and keishuk and yonhi in fluffy blankets* my babies Secondly: I did not think I could dislike Il more than I already do but here we are. Backstabbing a powerful oponent is the worst. Also lol “revEngE for my wife muahahaha” I mean grow up you’re a king who just got rid of probably your best general and your brother. ALso like ,I have only seen the raws but, does Il say he actualy saw yuhon kill kashi? or someone did see that? cuz like….dude.
anyway I’m sad for yuhon that was a stupid death for a war hero
Yup…too trusting! This fool!
And Il…at least Soo Won looked into his eyes, when he murdered him!…and he killed his own brother, when he turned his back on him…
I also feel that Il was still emotional about Kashi’s death when he killed Yuhon.
I just hope that Su-won was not that dumb to kill Il if Kashi really died because of Yuhon. He had 10 years to investigate, so I hope at least he checked his facts properly before doing anything.
I like two fan theories:
Yuhon was framed by priests. If someone other than Kashi and Ik-su survived, the motive would be obvious - revenge.
Yuhon was framed by Kai, because they thought that he is too much of a problem if there was a potential conflict and wanted to weaken Kouka and it was easy to whisper things into Il’s grieving ears.
I definitely like these two theories! And yeah I also hope Suwon did his homework, but then again, if he never found out the truth, killing a horrible damaging king to then go on and literally fix everything is as good a reason as any for me. Even if Il never killed yuhon, or yuhon did indeed kill kashi (for some reasonn??? can’t see how that’d make any sense) but Suwon still killed Il him to save the country and the people I’d still be okay with it. I saw on reddit that little suwon explicitly says that he will wait to see how Il rules the kingdom, and what I get from that was that he would not take revenge if Il was a great king.
Killing Il would be explained, but I also think it would make more sense for Su-won to admire someone who was not a total piece of shit and Yuhon would be this, if he killed Kashi for some dumb reasons.
Su-won would have access to documents that Yuhon left behind. From them he should be able to learn a lot about what was his father doing before death.
And for storytelling purposes, it would not be convincing if a teenage girl who was kept in a palace like in a golden cage for most of her life would be right about everything. It is just unbelievable.
As for Il and his beliefs. I think we can agree he sounds like a nutty fanatic. Form the spoilers I have read Yuhon had a very good point when he was trying to talk some sense into Il.
Though it would not be surprising, since Yona can even make an attack by Kai Empire happen…so why not being right about a thing, she can have no clue of…?
oh my god I had forgotten the beacon thing and how she completely got away with it ahahahaha that’s why I care most about suwon’s stuff in this story. Yona is fine, she doesn’t bother me most of the time, but I know she’s gonna be okay nevermind what, so meh

Yeah I definitely think so too. Suwon would not still be speaking so highly of his father if he knew he’d killed yona’s mom for? some reason? yup that’s true. yeah... I mean Yona has never said “yuhon killed my mother” has she? I don’t remember.... a fanatic he certainly is. the priest guy was too, he was really creepy. but Il married a girl just to father a god and feel blessed ™ so he takes the fanatic gold badge.

Only stabbing wasn’t enough to kill his brother…so he also pushed him to the cliff…..
Heroic deeds of a so called *gentle* king!!!
yEAH don’t gettt me started on how Il is a lil b* omg I hatE. very gentol wow. Like, from the way he treats baby suwon you can see he’s far from what people think he is

Or Il believed this without any facts…like he also thought that his brother would make fun of him( Was it mentioned that he had any proof?)
Or the gods wished for this development, since they hated that he drove the priests out ( still pretty unlikely) or they saw it as a way to lure “King Hiryuu” out? They aim may be for him to come back…as a god. ( I mean if Yona does not come to the conclusion that the fact that King Hiryuu had come down to earth is the pivotal problem…then what?)
Regarding Soo Won it appears, that the last stray was King Il´s handling of the country?
Maybe the hairpin is a proof that his father did not kill Yona´s mother? Honestly I don´t know, how it could work…but this thing is still pretty important and Soo Won gave this thing for a reason to Yona directly before he murdered her father…so it might have something to do with the reason why he did it?
oh yeah I had forgotten that happened! Il did seem to get upset easily back then... I really don’t know about the gods in akayona, they are always mentioned but the only one who’s ever done anything was hiryuu, and then the four dragons just came to protect him, not because they gave two damns about humanity or anything. I doubt the gods even care about the temples and priests at this point idk what their deal is. ooh I don’t know how a plot like that would work, but the hairpin being proof would be itneresting. I was always under the impression that he just did it as a means of showing that despite what he will do he still cares for her? and to have a physical representation of suwon for yona to dwell on and show how her feelings towards him evolve
Keishuk has been my baby since the day I first saw an akatsuki no yona trailer and he remains my baby all these years after and I love him and wish him all the best okay

dude
I’m reading berserk and I’m like.
Akatsuki no yona should have mainly focused on Hak and Soo-won. not Yona. I get it’s a shoujo but like.
the dynamic between them is like a much less harsh version of Guts/griffith and I’m here like. I would have enjoyed some extra soohak pain more than anything kfbdglsdkf
and unlike berserk, Hak could very very realistically come full circle and be frieds wiht soo-won again after some strife and such and it would be so interesting to see that development.
Okay so, the latest chapter was PAIN and then MORE PAIN
but
Soo-won copied his mom’s hairstyle I am d y i n g
