back when i was a straight A student in college things ran so much more smoothly because you have that security that even if you absolutely bomb the next exam or something, you'll be fine.

as a perpetually shambling C student a mistake really could fucking nuke you from orbit and it makes everything so much more stressful.

I can't seem to fucking stay on top of ANYTHING. like, there's being a student that never fails to turn in an assignment, and then it's like once you fall off the wagon you're just getting crushed under the wheels for eternity.

I don't think I was really in a sustainable state as a straight A student though. Sometimes I wonder if I had dialed it back a little bit and let myself pass a class with a B every once in a while, I wouldn't have burned out so hard in 2021 and I would be in a very different place today.

I was always "doing my best" because that's what I had been told, but it's not actually sustainable or good to do your best on everything
